<Pose Tracker> Amelia Rose has posed.

For the past few days, in between giving horrificly chiding sermons to bar-goers, Priestess Amelia Rose has been gathering information on these 'ARMs' she's heard so much about. She's yet to be shot at by one, but she's been around those who use them. Most importantly, the more highly ranked in the Guard are curious, and so she's been bothering every hawker and ARMs tech to show and teach. She has a bag full of cheap-ish gunsmoke weapons ready to be put back on the Destiny. But she has a problem.

Amelia Rose is lost. She decided to not drag Silver out today, and so, in a corner of the place not too far from that statue of INNOVATION, there's an elven woman with very odd clothes tapping her face. A single sweardrop appears from an ear.

 "This town is...truly baffling."

<Pose Tracker> Sephilia Lampbright has posed.

Sephilia is...well, also lost, but from the cheerful way she's skipping from sight to sight you'd never know. She certainly doesn't! She hasn't thought about it at all because /ohmigosh look at that/ has been the constant refrain in her mind all day.

Chauncey, dangling from her arms, wears an expression of stoic patience, his button eyes displaying no sign of exasperation with his young charge. Such a brave protector.

"I heard they have a dragon fossil around here /somewhere/," she tells Chauncey, "and I wanna see if Filgaian dragons match the ones back home." Chauncey says nothing; he is, of course, already aware of what Sephy heard, as he is inseperable. Sephy taps her nose as she thinks for a few moments. "Maybe I should ask someone--oh,hey, isn't she part of the group we're traveling with?"

Sephy arrives at where Amelia is standing just in time to hear her question. "What's so baffling about it?" she asks. "I'm Sephy, by the way--Sephilia Lampbright. Um, I think we're part of the same travelling group." She holds up Chauncey, completely oblivious, and introduces him as well. "And this is Lord Chauncey of Foxington! He's my bodyguard!"

Twin ears perk up, and the elven woman turns her attention to the voice of the girl. She vaguely remembers Sephilia from the caravan, if only in passing, and the elf finds herself smiling just a touch.

"This entire city...it's layout is /wrong/." Asserts Amelia, both hands clenching for a moment. Arms then cross, cane at her chest. "It's too large for something not housing the Godde...anyway. It is simply too large and erratically laid out." Or it simply isn't Pentagulia, and Amelia is being petty. And lost. Very lost.

Still, she dips into familiar holy motions. "Amelia Rose, Chosen of Althena, Healer. May She bless your every step, young Miss Lampbright. And...Lord Chauncey." Reach. Touch a Chauncey ear! It's a plushie. She can barely restrain a good chuckle.

"Are you lost? Maybe...we can both find our way together." Offers the Priestess.

Sephilia beams. "Oh, I'm not lost yet," she says. "That only happens when I'm ready to go--" She pauses, having been about to say "home," but remembers that she's on another world entirely. Her voice tightens a bit as she finishes instead, "back."

"To Lunar, I mean. You're from there, too, right? You must be, I don't think the Filgaians follow Althena. I'm from near Takkar, how about you?" To cover for her sudden homesickness, she...talks about home. Great move, Sephy. "I don't mind helping you find your way, though," she adds.

One brow squints just a bit. What an...odd child. Amelia finds her smile growing just a bit, and then, she finally just laughs.

"Yes. I am from Lunar as well." Her voice is a bit more hushed than usual. A hand slips down, and offers to take Sephilia in her own. That hand is just a bit rough for how dainty it is, but it's warm. "Larpa, though I have not visited in...almost twenty five years. And a good young woman like you should steer far away from that den of...! Regardless. Let's. Thank you." She'll let Sephy take the lead for obvious reasons. "I'm looking for an Inn called the Shattered Goblet. It is on the southern side of town. Do you have a room?"

Lean in. "These people know nothing of Althena. I intend to educate as many as I can. But do not be caught up in their sinful drinking, or dancing, or music. While they cannot be blamed, so far removed from Althena's touch, you cannot allow yourself to become blighted as well."

"What was your home like, Sephilia?"
<Pose Tracker> Sephilia Lampbright has posed.
"The southern end of town, huh?" Sephilia thinks for a moment, tapping her nose as she tries to orient herself by the sun. "Hey, does the sun still rise and set in the same directions here, do you think?" she asks. Regardless of her desire to see the dragon fossil, she's certainly more interested in helping someone in need, and has apparently forgotten about the dragon fossil completely.

While she's trying to figure out which direction they're heading, she answers, wistful, about her home. "I'm from near Takkar, and I live there with my Dad and my Mom. Dad's a famous explorer, sorta, and Mom makes the best meat pies anywhere. Though there's this tavern near here that does some good meat pies that I went to a couple times," she adds as an afterthought. What she was doing in a tavern is anyone's guess.

Well, okay, it isn't: she was getting meat pies.

"When we figure out how to go back, you should come with everyone and get meat pies, I'm sure they'll be so happy to see me that there'll be a big party and all," she carries on, starting to skip for a few steps just thinking about it--but she stops when she remembers she's got to guide Amelia.

Chin-tap. "I haven't been the navigator. I honestly could not tell you. Mmm..." It seems Amelia is doing her best to remember if the Destiny's navigator said anything! Hope. The dark skinned elf is actually blushing a bit.

But Sephilia's word about her home town, and especially her parents, have her warming up. The elf can't remember the last time she's felt this way. Really, Sephilia's good mood is infectious. "They sound wonderful. I would like to have one with you. I don't remember the family name, but...what is your Father's name? Perhaps we have met. I traveled on pilgrimage for quite some time."

She doesn't even get scolded about the tavern'ing. For once the reason seems obvious enough.

The path is simple enough. The duo would find themselves walking down a set of alleyways that work as an offshoot from the main street. The larger streets are pretty congested given the Festival, and so it's to darker, slightly less safe corners they go. There's a beggar or two out. Amelia slips a coin or two as they pass. And even stopping for a quick blessing.

Most of the hobos look a bit bewildered.

"I'm glad you're safe, at least. We will hold a holiday for Lord Leo's return, once our...ah, Pilgrimage here ends." Best not to mention the Destroyer to a young, impressionable Lunarian!
<Pose Tracker> Sephilia Lampbright has posed.
"Dad's name is George Lampbright," she says. It's possible that his legend has been inflated in Sephilia's mind, of course--but then again, it's a small world sometimes. "Do all big cities have this many people who need help?" she asks as they pass by the beggars. "This is the first time I've really been to a big city. Even Takkar, it wasn't as interesting as exploring." She taps her nose thoughtfully. "I guess because it's already there, and everyone knows it's there, it's not as fun as finding something that only I know is there. You know?" The young girl frowns, then.

"Even though I guess everyone who lives around here knows that this place is here, I'm one of the first from Lunar to see it all. Right? Um...unless the Pilgrimage is a regular kind of thing I don't know about because I'm not part of the Church, or something. Wait, do you know how to get back home?" She sounds half-eager and half-disappointed at the thought. Getting back to Lunar is supposed to be a goal of her big adventure, and she's barely been adventuring a couple weeks yet!

Amelia suddenly pauses as that name is spoken. Teeth grit, and there's a look on her face that's half furious, half fond. Then, she just kinda slumps in exhasperation. She straightens up. Silence reigns for a good minutes, and she's digging into her belongings. A single leather-bound book is offered to Sephilia.

"I was a stupid girl not much older than you. He was boisterous, full of himself, a complete clod. That was steadfast with his companions, quick witted, even if I wanted to beat him for his impious moments." Huff.

"It has been years. Here. Tell him 'That Stuck Up Priestess' sends his regards when you see him again. That is your father's journal when we adventured together. I had hoped I could return it. But you deserve it more."

A sucked breath. "Even Lunar has people like this, unfortunately. It's our duty as those faithful to Althena, to care for those not held so high in Her favor." Offers the elf to the younger woman.

A wave of the hand. "No. This even that took us here is an act of the Goddess, to set her Children upon this sick, blighted world. Sephilia. We will find our home. But as long as we are here, we must do our best to enlighten these sinful Children, to make their lives better. So, be a good girl, and help out any innocent people you find, hmm?"

A sigh. "No, I do not. But the Goddess will reveal all in time, whether through intervention or our own actions. You are one of the first to behold this land, Filgaia."

And then, soon enough, they're before Amelia's chosen inn.

"Do you have a place to stay tonight, Sephilia? I should thank you for your guidance..."

Sephy takes the book, awed and surprised. "I...this is incredible! You actually know my Dad! I bet he'd be really happy if you do visit for meat pies!" She nods as she's asked about whether she has a place to say, but adds verbally "I do have rooms already at another inn," knowing that a nod isn't enough. "I'm just glad me an' Chauncey could help you out," she says sincerely.
