  • Where: Guardian Temple
  • Date: August 20, 2017
  • Summary: Admiral Laukken, commander of the Aveh forces attack the Guardian Temple, is attacked by Kislev's new Golem.

Admiral Laukken smiled, as he stood aboard the bridge of his land battleship and watched the battle unfold. Smoke wafted and rose from the Guardian Temple -- and more Metal Beasts lay dead than not. Even the Quarter Knights, he thought, were flagging.

Though he couldn't be sure, and he tugged on his mustache from nervousness every time that Siegfried and Harken seemed to get closer.

Soon, the battle would be theirs. It would be a matter of sending in the infantry to mop up the inside -- a grueling fight, but one they were ready for. Perhaps Garlyle would earn their pay with that. Perhaps--

"Admiral! Gears approaching from the northwest!"

"What!?"

He turned -- and found himself staring at a line of three squat, olive drab land battleships moving behind a force of Gears. In their center, though, was something else. A thing that slithered, a great tail of white segmented steel plates, and then a body of blue, with terrible wings stretching back out off it. They ended in red plates. Its eyes flashed red, and it turned to look at them.

"The Golem Sado is operational," Captain Erika von Hautten's officers informed her. The Kislevi soldier looked out across the field -- and tried to swallow the lump in her throat. It wasn't easy, as the ground shook. Somehow, though, the Golem worked. She never expected that to happen. Her eyes narrowed, and she waited a beat.

No disaster fell.

"Direct the Golem to attack the Aveh flagship first."

"Ma'am!"

The air above them shimmered, as the Golem they stood in the shadow of turned to face the Aveh flagship. Then, a beam erupted from the head of the demonic-looking Golem. A thin white light shot across the field, then slashed clean through the flagship in one strike. It exploded in a terrible fireball, debris streaming down across the battlefield. A cheer erupted from her lines.

Erika smiled despite herself. "Inform Colonel Keil," Erika said. "He will be pleased." Then, she shouted, saber thrust forward. "SOLDIERS OF KISLEV! ATTACK!"
