=======================<* November City - Market Street *>========================

November City is the greatest and the largest of the Seed Cities. When it appeared after the Night of Falling Stars, it was already a large settlement, built by the survivors of that day quickly. It has since grown enormously, appealing to people in the Badlands in search of some security and the refugees from failed and lost Seed Cities. Market Street, its main thoroughfare, demonstrates this. On the outskirts of the city, shantytowns and shacks pop up along the street, gradually becoming the larger buildings in the heart of November.

The street is named for the huge market that has sprung up across it, occupying the three and four story brick buildings along each side. It's a wide, paved road (a rare thing in the Badlands) and connected to Central Station, where all of the railways come. Here, one can find anything they want. The laissez-faire nature of November City's government makes the black market an open one, and this is one of the few places where ARMs and stolen goods from Aveh and Kislev can be bought with ease.

There are also saloons, taverns, restaurants, and hotels to be found. November City is a true melting pot, where Drifters from across Filgaia mix with foreign merchants and locals of every class. Men wearing suits brush by peasants in homespun, while Drifters and knights bump into each other. The police force usually prevents outright gunfights in the streets, but November City's officials are infamously easy to bribe.

<Pose Tracker> Sephilia Lampbright has posed.

Sephilia Lampbright is a young lady with a problem. Specifically: She looks like she's four or five years younger than she actually is.

It's a pain when everyone treats her like a kid!

Recently though she's realized that part of it is that her oft-patched and well-loved outfit, brought to Filgaia from the woods of Takkar, doesn't do anything to make her look like anything other than a child.

So, she's currently out shopping. Window-shopping, to be more accurate; her intention is to find a style or three she likes and then adjust them while making her own versions. She is, after all, an expert seamstress.

Chauncey, another of the reasons that Sephy is often mistaken for a child, is dangling from her satchel today, firmly ensconced but left so he can see where they're going.

<Pose Tracker> Riesenlied has posed.

Sephilia may be mistaken for a child, but an actual child soon runs up next to her and exclaims, "Wah, it's Sephy! Hi Sephy!" It's Mikaia, the adorablest bundle of black hair and little black wings from Wayside. Not far behind her, Riesenlied is trying to hurry along as she holds onto a large parcel and several other groceries, calling out, "Mikaia, you shouldn't run... you may trip."

Mikaia looks back to her mom and gives her a wave to say it's okay, before exclaiming, "Do we need more bolt or thread, mom?? This is the store you like, right?"

Riesenlied steps closer and nods towards the young adventurer, saying, "This shop is rather kind... and they give discounts for large purchases. Hello, Sephilia..."

<Pose Tracker> Neriah Parringer has posed.

Against her judgment, Neriah came back into town.

Of course, Neriah the excavator would be recognized pretty quickly, and someone would eventually visit the Adventurer's Guild and connect her to the Black Star and the hundred thousand plus gella on her murderous head. So she shucked her excavator's outfit and waylaid someone outside of town.

Which is why someone speaks up near Sephilia: "Oh, hey! It's you again. Hello."

Neriah is standing by a window not far from where Sephy and Chauncey are standing. Of course, recognizing her might take a second, because she's fancied up pretty significantly. She's sporting a pair of slacks with a light crease along the front, belted high up her waist, a white blouse below a dark vest, an open sport coat, and modestly-high heels. If not for her body shape, the high heels and her makeup, the style would be quite masculine.

Neriah opens her mouth to say something else - but then someone else comes scampering up.

Mikaia. Neriah blushes a little and clasps her hands, bowing her head. "Hi, you two."

<Pose Tracker> Victoria D. Larosh has posed.

Victoria has been hanging out with Riesenlied and her friendly group of outcasts from time to time, usually when she's low on money and not motivated to earn more, but whenever she does she's always doing her part to help out. The otherwordly fencer thus has come along to help carry any groceries that need to be carried, and she gives Sephilia and Neriah an uncertain wave.

<Pose Tracker> Sephilia Lampbright has posed.

Sephy beams brightly. "Mikaia! Hi there! How's the calamity-ing going?" She grins at the younger girl. "And--it's you!" she greets Riesenlied, unsure if she should name the other woman, all things considered--she's often in disguise. And..."Neriah! Heya! A bunch of the coolest people are turning up here, wow!"

Sephy waves to Victoria, as well. "Heya!" she says. "Oh, you're that girl we met in the woods from somewhere far away, right?"

<Pose Tracker> Riesenlied has posed.

Riesenlied doesn't appear to be in disguise today, though she really ought to be; perhaps there's something about deception that really doesn't sit well with her... and perhaps there's a way in which Mikaia looks at her that makes her think twice even harder than usual. She catches Neriah with a fond look on her face, and a nod. She still thinks of when she last was rescued by her... she won't forget that anytime soon.

"Hello, Neriah. I hope you're well today...?"

Mikaia grumps slowly to say, "Janey's still at it... I wonder when she'll get bored of being Lord of Calamity?" She's banking on a few more months until she gets bored, perhaps.

She looks to Victoria with a gentle smile and says, "Oh, this is Victoria... she's been helping out with Wayside."

<Pose Tracker> Neriah Parringer has posed.

"I count as one of the coolest people? Who knew," Neriah says with a quick blink, pushing one hand up through her short, dark hair. But there's a smile coming with the statement, half-amused, half-bemused.

She steps forward nevertheless and reaches down to pat Mikaia gently on the head. "I'm sure she'll find something else to be Lord of soon enough, little bud. Sometimes people just gotta change jobs." Smiling, she pushes aside some of her worries.

Mikaia is here now, and there's no danger. It's okay to let herself like the girl.

She looks up to Riesenlied with a soft blush colouring her cheeks, moving her free hand to rub at her neck. "Better today than I was yesterday... we found this ruin and I got stabbed a few times. It was a little unpleasant. But I've gotta go back... 'cause I think there are some answers for me there."

A blink, then. Neriah tilts her head towards Victoria, giving her a once-over. "Hello. I'm Neriah Parringer."

<Pose Tracker> Victoria D. Larosh has posed.

Right, yes. I'm Victoria D. Larosh, from far across the sea of stars." Victoria has since decided to stop being too subtle. This world has been exposed to space travel before, she's not entirely convinced the UP3 applies, and ultimately it feels more comfortable to tell the truth. "Nice to meet you, miss Parringer." She holds out a hand, and with the other hand reaches out to hairruffle Mikaia. "So how have you been, uhhh... I forgot your name." She's looking at Sephilia.

<Pose Tracker> Sephilia Lampbright has posed.

Sephilia giggles. "You never know. I always wanted to be a famous explorer just like my Dad when I got older, and look at me now!"

She doesn't look like a famous explorer...or DOES she? She's actually getting to be pretty famous in certain circles, at any rate.

"Ooh. Did you...did you need any first aid? 'Cause I'm also trained a bit in healing, you know! So if you have any injuries that need lookin' at..."

"Wait...what? Sea of stars?! Do you...do you mean..."

Sephy's voice lowers to almost a whisper. "Do you mean there are more worlds than just Filgaia and Lunar?"

There's a tremble in the girl's voice, perhaps excitement, perhaps shock. "--Oh--I'm uh, I'm Sephilia Lampbright!"

<Pose Tracker> Riesenlied has posed.

Mikaia frowns quietly as she thinks about that... and says, "I still want to help mom out... I hope that doesn't change when I grow older," as she peeks up towards her mother. Riesenlied smiles warmly as she says, "You're so very kind, Mikaia... I know that won't ever change about you, so don't worry about it..." as she pets the winged beastgirl on the head with Victoria.

Riesenlied looks a bit alarmed when she hears about Neriah's stabbing incident. "I--I see... if I can assist in any way, then..." she bobs her head to one side. "Things have gotten very busy at the village, but it won't do to ignore trouble around us."

She does look to Sephilia as she expresses, "My ancestors are from Hyades... though it is no more, so I imagine miss Victoria may have been from a different world altogether. It is exciting to think about, is it not...?"

<Pose Tracker> Neriah Parringer has posed.

"What, you're one of the Lunars too?" Neriah asks as she takes Victoria's hand and shakes it. She's wearing white gloves. Sephilia, though, throws another wrench into things; Neriah furrows her brows, drawing her hand back and bringing that hand up to her chin. "...Huh. Well, I guess if there are Lunar Mooners, there can be Starry Stowaways, too."

She doesn't let it show in her face, but Neriah takes the claim far more skeptically than Sephilia does: Oh, so she's a nutjob, she thinks.

"You should definitely keep helping out Riese," Neriah assures Mikaia with a broad smile. "She needs you more than ever, you know."

The dark-haired Excavator looks up at Riese again. She clasps her hands loosely behind her back. "Well, I'm... gonna bring a few friends I met somewhere else," she says a bit evasively. "If you're, uh, 'kaykay with that."

Neriah can't think of a more subtle way to let Riese know she's gonna roll deep into a fortress with K.K.'s friends.

<Pose Tracker> Victoria D. Larosh has posed.

"Countless." Victoria answers Sephilia with a bit of a shrug. "My family trades many things across the sea of stars, and I got stranded here after one of our ships got caught in a surprise attack." She doesn't recognize Neriah's skepticism, and even if she did, she wouldn't care. She'd rather speak the truth and be disbeliefed than have to rely on endless lies and dodges.

"Wanting to help Riese is only natural." She tells Mikaia with a smile, finishing up with the headpat and stepping back. "And to be honest, I've grown to like my freedom. My family is very controlling, because they're very worried someone might try to hurt me. They must be besides themselves with worry by now."

<Pose Tracker> Lydia Seren has posed.

Lydia is about to walk out of the clothing store, carrying several hangars of outfits before she sees the group outside of the store. She swears under her breath and quietly tosses the outfits to the side and steps outside, laughing heartily. "Ha ha ha! As if I'd BUY cute outfits! All proceeds go to science, that's the Lydia guarantee!!" She chortles for a bit afterwards before she looks to Mikaia. "Only shoplift from places that overcharge others, Mikaia." She wags a finger at her. "That's what it means to be a good girl."

She looks over to Riesenlied afterwards, then looks towards Sephilia, then back to Riesenlied.

wait, she thinks, would these people even recognize her??

<Pose Tracker> Sephilia Lampbright has posed.

Sephilia is too busy being flabbergasted to immediately catch what Lydia has said. "C--countless? Countless worlds, to explore?" A light is shining from her eyes. "Tell me how I can explore all of them!"

She's suddenly intense, then, realizing that this stranger is giving Mikaia shoplifting advice...

"Er...stealing is bad, Mikaia, you shouldn't shoplift from ANY places." She looks up at Lydia. "You...remind me of someone but...I can't remember your face..." she says.

<Pose Tracker> Riesenlied has posed.

Riesenlied nods slowly, if uncomfortably as she expresses, "Please... do be careful, and-- stay safe." Riese is probably thinking of her bandits friends rather than anyone else... she hasn't quite connected that Neriah and K.K. are, in their own way, working together, after all.

Mikaia does smile warmly at Victoria, saying, "I've been reading Miss Jay's books... someday I'll make tasty potions!" T-taste is the prime factor?

But then Lydia comes out. Mikaia pauses for a moment, peering towards Lydia as she lectures her... but the little child is precocious, having a connection to her mother and magic in a way she can't explain -- and she perks up to go, "Astie? Is that you??" She gasps and beams, exclaiming, "Woow, your horns are really pretty! Just like mom's!"

Riesenlied looks just a bit bashful as well, as she peers towards Lydia to say... "Ah...!" Riese's own sense of empathy, even outside of her power, is stronger, and the way she speaks is unmistakable. "Goodness... Lydia?"

<Pose Tracker> Neriah Parringer has posed.

Neriah actually doesn't recognize Lydia immediately. She's used to hearing that voice in association with someone who has literally Rigdobrite for a head.

It takes her a second to process the change. Then she blinks. "Oh hey, don't I know you?" she says with a dull surprise. "Like... I feel like I remember being in Astie Jail with you. But...."

Neriah kind of... gestures. Towards... the Artist Formerly Known as Astie.

When she looks back up to Riese, Neriah's got a faint smile hanging at her lips. "Why not come with? I'm sure they wouldn't mind having you come along... and besides." She blushes a little, clasping her hands at her waist and lowering her eyes to her feet. "...I trust you more than most people," she admits in a smaller voice.

Truthfully, Neriah even trusts Riese more than K.K. Mostly because trusting K.K. is sort of like trusting a tidal wave.

<Pose Tracker> Lydia Seren has posed.

Lydia points to her face, only briefly perplexed by Sephilia's confusion. "Oh--I used to have a Rigdobrite head but Ethius hit it so hard it fell off, so I look more like my old self now." She blinks a few times. "This is more like what I actually look like. I'm Astie, though uh--"

Mikaia steps in and Lydia presses a hand on Mikaia's head, grinning down at her. "That's right! My horns are pretty great after all, huh!! Maybe one day I'll be as cute as you, I doubt it though! Ha ha ha!! Nice to see you with my own eyes, Mikaia. My real name's Lydia. Heh heh..!"

She then looks back up and over to Riesenlied. "Geeze this is awkward haha... I've been fixing up my place at the Carakin but I'll be back at Wayside soon to help with work there." She snaps a salute with the metal arm that's sometimes a bit wild. "Yo."

She glances to Neriah. "Oh yeah you're the kinda nutty person. It's cool though. I'm a little nutty too."

<Pose Tracker> Victoria D. Larosh has posed.

The spacer waves to Lydia, "Victoria D. Larosh, I'm a friend of miss Riesenlied's." She introduces herself, then looks towards Sephilia with a mild frown as though trying to consider how to answer that. "Well you'll need a ship that lets you travel the sea of stars, which must be really, really fast otherwise you end up nowhere. Each of the stars is trillions of miles away from us. They make those ships where I'm from, but they also avoid contacting worlds that are considered 'primitive' to avoid messing with the natural course of events."

She smiles at Mikaia, "Work hard then! Making potions is important work, but make sure they also work. Nobody wants to find out their potions taste great but don't work well in the middle of a dungeon."

<Pose Tracker> Sephilia Lampbright has posed.

Sephilia's eyes widen. "A-Astie?" She impulsively hugs the other. "Oh it's good to see you face to face! You look great! It's Lydia? That's a great name, too! Gosh, and--and here you've been talking about making a space ship and everything! When you do can I come exploring all the other worlds?"

<Pose Tracker> Riesenlied has posed.

Riesenlied looks ever the brighter for it as she watches Lydia, holding onto what groceries and shifting on her good, non-draconic leg. She glances towards Neriah with a bit of hesitation... but she doesn't want to see the excavator get hurt either. "All right, send me a message when you're ready, then."

Mikaia nods at Victoria to say, "Don't worry, I'll focus on that too! But I'd rather my potions taste like blueberry sundaes rather than cough syrup!" ... yep, this is definitely one sweet-toothed alchemist in the making...

She nods at Lydia as well, however, saying, "We're... making some progress on the ship. I think we're going to more carve one half of it and attach it to some kind of vessel, because it's entirely beyond us to lift the entire carrier."

<Pose Tracker> Emma Hetfield has posed.

The door to the clothing store swings open.

"Did somebody say powered spaceflight between multiple planets?!" says EMMA HETFIELD. (Behind her the counter clerk says, "no, they said pay your bill, woman. sigh. why do i even bother. this sucks. at least the planet's dying. ugh. this is going in the memory cube. at least they can't take that from me.")

EMMA HETFIELD has her characteristic jacket off, revealing that her dress has a vaguely Guild Galad qipao thing going on. Her hair is down and she has a pair of flats on instead of heels.

"Lydia! You look adorable," Emma says. (She also has her glasses back on.) "I'm so glad you've recovered from your humiliating interval and dismemberment. Did you use salamander oil? Here, give up the hugs," Emma continues, emerging into the street proper and spreading her arms.

"Excuse me, but I've never seen her face before today," Emma explains to Victoria, over her shoulder. "Riesenlied, Mick... Mickeya? I'm so sorry, I've taken repeated head wounds. You don't happen to remember your name, do you, young lady?"

<Pose Tracker> Neriah Parringer has posed.

"It's Neriah, actually," Neriah answers Lydia with a quick blink. "Nice to meet you, Lydia. Well, meet you again, outside of Astie Jail. And I don't think I'm that nutty? At least, not compared to some people out there."

Ethius exists, after all.

Speaking of nutty, Neriah tilts her head and listens to Victoria explaining how the sea of stars works. Her mind sets to work calculating those distances.

"So your ship must have some kind of pretty fast engine on it, since I think the fastest ship we've got today is one of those double-screw steamers you see out of Guild Galad sometimes, and they top out at something like, what, 40 kay-pee-aych? I mean, not that I know much about boats, but." Neriah tilts her head back and does some mental calculations.

"...What would you even push against to get through stars, anyway?" she asks. "I mean, a steamer displaces water. Don't stars just kind of--"

Emma Hetfield shows up and Neriah suddenly feels much, much stupider. The Excavator in the nice men's suit shuts up and folds her arms, curling into herself perceptibly.

<Pose Tracker> Lydia Seren has posed.

Lydia Seren looks over to Victoria as she casually just goes off about how she's an alien from space who flies spaceships from trillions of miles away and they avoid contact with worlds that are considered with 'primitive' here's the prime directive by the way I'm totally violating said prime directive by pointing all this out to you. Her expression goes increasingly deadpan as Victoria keeps talking.

Her fingers curl inwards, her shoulders start shaking. She bares her many sharp fangs as Victoria just hits like half her buttons all at once without even meaning to.

"Are you dense or just cruel?" She says. "Your hockamaney story doesn't even make sense. If your so-called code prevents fucking with 'primitive' planets, you wouldn't be wagging your tongue like a--"

She looks like she's about to flat out slug Victoria but--

EMMA INTERRUPT

Lydia doesn't get a proper chance to answer Neriah, or even Mikaia. Nor does she get to punch Victoria in the face like she wants to but when someone acts like her impossible dream of achieving spaceflight is small potatoes by mentioning another civilization, well, maybe there's a reason there's that prime directive after all. It could very well crush her dream to be a spacepilot after all, halting planetary progress, and judging from the faint tears in her eyes, she does seem very upset by the careless act.

But Emma discharges it somewhat as she reddens severely from Emma's mothering? babying? big sistering to little sistering?

She does hug, sniffing into Emma's arms. "Nooo..." She says. "I didn't use salamander oil...Her name's Mikaia she's the sweet cute one. Janey's the punk cute one."

<Pose Tracker> Sephilia Lampbright has posed.

"Emma! I mean, hi! You remember me, right? I'm Sephilia Lampbright! Ida's friend? We met and you taught me some stuff one time! You know about how to fly to other planets? I mean--can I hug you too?" Sephy is eager and kind of awkward and she has learned a whole bunch since their last meeting... "Anyway Asti--I mean, Lydia and I wanna go to space sometime! And go exploring! I wanna explore, anyway! Gosh, imagine how proud my Dad would be if I explored MORE than two worlds!! I'll DEFINITELY be famous then!"

<Pose Tracker> Victoria D. Larosh has posed.

Seeing how upset Lydia is, Victoria decides to drop the topic. She doesn't understand it, but she doesn't need to understand it to understand the topic is getting a little dangerous. She takes an awkward step backwards, allowing Lydia to interpret it however. "I'll go pick up the things we needed from the grocer, miss Riesenlied." She offers.

<Pose Tracker> Emma Hetfield has posed.

Emma gives Lydia a back rub as she says to her, "It's alright, I know I have that effect on people." She looks over to Neriah at the same time and waves her over with some urgency. "C'mere. Accept the hugs of science and feel the emotional glow of enlightenment. C'mere." Wave wave wave.

"I do," Emma tells Sephilia tangentially. "Don't worry. Like I said, it's just that I've never met Lydia outside of a situation where she was fighting a desperate battle for her soul or not wearing a helm. Thingy. What's the correct term?"

She looks around then. "As for the question of moving, I've figured out that it's entirely possible to move in a vacuum. There's several ways, actually."

<Pose Tracker> Sephilia Lampbright has posed.

Sephilia wrinkles her nose. "A vacuum? That's a book-word! How come you don't just say the absence of air and gravity?"

<Pose Tracker> Riesenlied has posed.

An Emma appears! Command?

"Mikaia," Mikaia grumps as she puts her hands to her waist. "Of course I remember my name! I don't go and get bonked in the head like some other people," perhaps referring to Janey and her propensity to land head-side down every time she attempts to enact something known as 'the Janey'.

Riese doesn't even know what a mile is, probably! Is that like a sharl? A kilosharl? "I--I imagine the sea of stars to be, um... like the ocean, but more romantic?"

... ... Exhibit A: Alien species who has no idea how space travel works ... ...

Her horns wiggle as she tilts her head to express, "At least, I hope so. I have never been out there, just heard stories..."

Riesenlied does kind of gesture her head to Victoria, as if to indicate it's a touchy topic for her; she looks a little bit contrite, though, nodding gently to the girl to say, "Yes, thank you very much, Victoria... here," as she offers her the gella purse that they've probably been sharing for Wayside's purposes. It's an explicit gesture of trust!

<Pose Tracker> Neriah Parringer has posed.

Truthfully, Neriah was about to boot it the fuck up out of here, what with Emma sucking up all the oxygen in the... are we in a room? No, we're not in the room, so the oxygen just keeps on replenishing.

Instead Emma waves at her. Neriah blinks back at the woman. "Well, so long as you don't chop off my legs while I'm over there," she deadpans as she hooks her thumbs into her belt loops and saunters forward. (The belt loops are high because her trousers are fairly high-waisted. The style makes her legs look incredibly long.)

"I'm not sure what good moving in a vacuum would actually do," Neriah admits with a slow shrug and a glance sidelong at Riese. "Since I think you'd need an engine a lot faster than anything we've got right now."

<Pose Tracker> Lydia Seren has posed.

Lydia laughs despite herself at Emma's ... it was a joke right? She bobs her head slowly and adds, "H..hey..." at the mention of desperate battles for her soul, further embarrassed by this.

"Inertia." She tells Neriah, perfectly okay with hugging both her and Sephilia if they want to join the science hug. She hugs a little too tightly, but it's what she needs to chill herself out.

She wipes briefly at her eyes once that's done and calms down somewhat. "Space doesn't have as much friction so even if you start at a low speed you can rapidly pick up speed. I figure you'd want to have a durable ship and ample fuel, so it's actually a discipline requiring a lot of fields, and a lot of hands really. Even in the best case scenario."

She looks to Riese for a moment, studying the gella purse she hands off. She frowns and then looks back away. "Anyway, since there's little to no friction, it helps with picking up the speed you need for space. Probably."

She shrugs her shoulders. "It's hard to really come up with everything but I wanna build a ship that can get us there someday. I have a buncha people I need to get to Lunar somehow."

<Pose Tracker> Emma Hetfield has posed.

Emma turns her attention towards Sephilia.

She leans in. Her head eclipses the sun for a moment. Her glasses gleam.

"Because," Emma tells Sephilia, with ominous tones of the conqueror of the void, "it sucks."

NOTHING HAS CHANGED OTHERWISE. Emma smiles at Mikaia. "I got at least in the general area." Neriah doesn't seem to want to get closer, so Emma stops with the wave-wave-waving. "Well that's the interesting thing," she says. "Once you're there, you wouldn't need much of an engine at all. Things would behave quite differently from what you were used to. - Exactly!"

She gives Lydia a last squeeze before disengaging. "Due to the Hetfield Effect, an object in motion stays in motion unless acted upon by an outside force. You don't see a ton of this in daily life because Filgaia is full of outside forces. For instance, if you throw a rock, gravity and air friction will bring it down and break something, which gets you yelled at - which is the Second Hetfield Effect, in a sense: every action has an equal and opposite reaction."

This is said to Mikaia, upon whom it may be wasted.

<Pose Tracker> Riesenlied has posed.

It's kind of lost on Mikaia -and- Riesenlied, to be truthful, who still have the idea that space is full of fluffy cuccos and all one needs to do is puuuuuuuuuff up their cheeks and float, float, float up up, and away... or, something of the sort. "U-ummm... is that like--"

She squints. "If you do good things, good things will happen... wait, huh?" She tilts. "Opposite? Does that mean that no good deed does go unpunished??"

Riesenlied frowns to say, "N-no, no, I think that's another principle altogether... though I can't say I really understand anything about space travel myself, honey..."

Mikaia snickers as she says, "I still like when Cetiri tries to explain things to you and has to go 'spooky action, at a distance'!"

"She doesn't make it any easier to understand..." Riesenlied complains.

<Pose Tracker> Sephilia Lampbright has posed.

Sephilia shrugs as the hug disengages. "It's hard to understand sometimes but you gotta use the special words cause they mean the stuff they mean and nothing else really means those things! I'm...bad at explaining it, I think. Anyway, I did a buncha reading and learned a buncha stuff and I got your joke, Emma! It was really funny!"

<Pose Tracker> Neriah Parringer has posed.

Neriah doesn't hug very well. She did walk closer to Emma, but not into hugging range.

"Oh, okay," she says with a cant of her head to one side. "So the same laws don't apply above Filgaia as they do on Filgaia."

As Emma starts talking about gravity and air friction, Neriah lowers her eyelids just a little, but patiently listens to the very verbose woman as she says her piece nevertheless. "Yeah, this is a little outside my wheelhouse," she concedes. "Most of my knowledge of the natural law is, y'know." She gestures with her hands as if to indicate a globe. "Rocks, and how the plates slide together, and crystal formation and cleavage lines and how to identify old paint in a mural and other things an Excavator needs to know. So."

Neriah holds her hands out in a slow shrug. "I'll just leave the floating through the stars to you. Besides," she says with a self-effacing smirk, "letting me off Filgaia might be a bad idea."

<Pose Tracker> Lydia Seren has posed.

Lydia says, "That's why I'm always throwing rocks at stuff." with a blank face. "I'm testing out the Second Hetfield Effect."

No good deed does go unpunished though.

Lydia looks over to Neriah, studying her for a moment. "See you around," She tells Neriah. "Let's hang out sometime later."

She glances over to Mikaia for a moment. "Well none of us really know how to make it happen or we would've. We don't even got air travel, really."
