  • Cast: Riesenlied, Noeline, Leon Albus, Lily Keil
  • Where: Wayside
  • Date: 1st February 2018
  • Summary: Riesenlied and Noeline convene with Leon and Lily, to discuss matters of their pursuit...

<Pose Tracker> Riesenlied has posed.

After the most recent outing into Ash Hare, Riesenlied has had many questions on her mind; what has happened to Gryndille, if it were missing from the recharge station? What of Kislev's other plans? What of the Golem Sado, following its damage and the missing Fossils? These were all problems in Ignas' volatile landscape, and it was not wise to ignore them.

When Leon and Lily arrive, Wayside is certainly in a state -- the hole that... y'know... Lily exploded from the ceiling during the battle with Rahab has now become a large underground bay door. Several large parts of what appear to be the Ash Legion carrier are being worked on in tandem underneath sheds -- looks like the Tainted are working hard to attempt to repair the airship so that they have a plan of escape... but it will be hard to even bring it to a fraction of the flight capability the ship once had.

But they have resources.

Riesenlied is waiting at Val's inn, discussing several matters with a villager. "Alright. That will have to do -- please arrange for the transfer..."

<Pose Tracker> Noeline has posed.

Noeline can be spotted directing some of the crews working on the ship, but it's not exactly a particularly active role - she isn't barking orders or instructions so much as just keeping watch over the process, her gaze fixed on parts of the Ash Legion craft as she moves from one to another and exchanges a few words and a nod.

By and large, the Tainted seem to know roughly what they're doing, and they're certainly more aware of how to stretch limited resources. Noeline is more than happy enough to respect that - besides, she's mostly there to be curious and wary in equal measure, well aware that the carrier will make them a threat in some eyes but unable to draw herself away from it.

She does catch sight of Leon and Lily's entrance, though; it's with a sideways glance, and she waves at the Tainted as she turns towards them, narrowly avoiding the wave back from the arc welder the workman sports in place of an arm. She's sort of on an intercept path, except it becomes obvious that it's more a 'converge on Riesenlied' path.

Faster healing than the rest of Wayside, she looks like she's recovered from the wounds the Primarch inflicted on her - the bandages are gone from her arms and shoulder, and if there's a limp there it's either very slight or else covered up.

<Pose Tracker> Leon Albus has posed.

Leon looks around, with some confusion clear in his expression. Wayside has seen better days, clearly. The damage to it is concerning, in an instant, and it makes him hesitate for a moment. The hole makes him hesitate more; he knows what caused that. It seems it had a certain advantage, though, His eyebrows furrow for a moment, before he looks sideways at Lily. He nods. There is a lot that they can say without words.

Which is why he heads towards the inn. He catches sight of Noeline, though. He waves his hand once -- and then he steps into the inn, figuring that Noeline will follow.

At least she has healed some. He hopes the same for Riesenlied. He looks to her as he arrives, before he nods once to the Tainted commander. "Riesenlied," he says. It passes as a greeting. He owes her a few explanations. "I hope you're feeling better. And that Miss Schrodinger is."

<Pose Tracker> Lily Keil has posed.

Lily... has a number of questions on her mind, as well. Lieutenant Keil happens to have been to Ash Hare a few times since their initial expedition, including the one with Riesenlied; again and again she's gone in for answers, to try to find more and more if she can while she's there... and keep an eye on others and what they may find there.

But there's more than just observation to be done, and Lily is here with Leon to talk with Riesenlied... the first time she's been to Wayside since the incident with Rahab. Her clothes conceal most of her bandages, though her left hand is obviously wounded, and she favors the left arm by using the right for most things so far. Lily is... quieter even than usual, as she looks around the place, looks to the holes below and tries to ignore what she recalls seeing.

There is a young Dog at her heels, short-furred and black, trotting along. She seems pleasant enough.

...But Lily's physical wounds from Rahab are not in evidence. Lily returns Leon's look regardless, and then heads to the inn, nodding to Noeline along her way.

She watches Riesenlied in silence, rather than voicing a greeting; the meeting of eyes is an acknowledgement, at least.

<Pose Tracker> Riesenlied has posed.

The villager looks towards the two, bowing his head as he pads off on his unsteady accordion tube legs with a wave to their leader. Riesenlied turns towards Noeline, Leon and Lily as she moves to a nearby table, which she's laid out with what appears to be the plans for their... ship, so to speak.

It's of unusual design, clearly drawn from scratch -- and looks little like the carrier seen underneath Wayside. It's a blimp-like airship design, with a dragonshead that on closer inspection appears to use part of the carrier seen aboveground. The bottom part looks more like a traditional seafaring vessel... and they're attached through masts and ropes, with a fin-like wing for steering.

"Mister Leon. I am fine, thank you... and -- I have sent word for Miss Schrodinger... she's returned to her villa in Bledavik." She furrows her brow. "She's strong. And I have promised to help her with her memories even prior to this. We'll get through it together."

She smiles at Lily... she sees the bandages, but knows Lily probably can already sense the concern radiating off her -- and also catches a look at the dog with a happy look on her face. Eeee dog.

"I promised to help you with Gryndille, and I want to know what I can do to help. Our eyes and wings are at your disposal."

<Pose Tracker> Noeline has posed.

Noeline steps around them both, nodding her own acknowledgement; it's respectful for, oh, a few seconds at least before she dissolves back into her regular grin, huffing out a breath as she does so. "She seems determined, at the very least," she supplies alongside Riesenlied's comment. "I very much doubt anything would stop her for terribly long." As she says this, she puts a hand on Riesenlied's shoulder; really, she could be talking about Maya or the blonde in front of them.

She flicks her eyes towards the design; she's seen it before, of course, but she finds herself looking at it again for good measure, committing the general look of it to memory. Lightly and playfully, she nudges the small dog with a foot, more a tease than anything.

"Unfortunately, our ability to scout far and wide has been-- a little curtailed as of late," she huffs out in what is relatively good humour given their situation. "We've needed numbers to work on the ship, after all. That isn't to say we can't lend a hand, however, especially around hilly or mountainous regions where flying above it would be more beneficial. ... of course, the other question is how you manage to hide something that large."

<Pose Tracker> Leon Albus has posed.

Leon has seen a few flying vehicles in his day, but mostly from Solaris. The ones in Aveh and Kislev were -- by and large -- secret, because Solaris forbade air travel in this part of the world. Efforts to do so tended to end in flames. Ordinarily, he would fear the same for the Tainted's ship... but he saw little recourse. Besides, their vessel did not appear to be damaged. He leans down, squinting at it.

Then, he looks up. "I see," he says. "That's for the best then. I hadn't realized that she came from Bledavik..." He shakes his head, before he looks back to Lily. There isn't overt concern at the bandages, nor more than a glance for Dog. He's expressed both earlier, in private.

"That's for the best, then," he says, glancing at Noeline. He looks up at Riesenlied, and hesitates a moment as he considers. Perhaps, this will be asking too much of her. Much has changed since they met, nearly a year ago, in a saloon in Adlehyde. They both have new responsibilities. But, if that was enough to keep him away, then he would never have come.

"I haven't forgotten your offer. Either of yours. We learned some upon our first trip in," he says. "It seems that Gryndille wasn't based out of Ash Hare, but only returned there at times. We found its repair station, which appeared automated. We found more there, too. But... it adds a complication that you should know of."

He glances at Lily, and pauses, to let her explain more if she would like.

<Pose Tracker> Lily Keil has posed.

Lily indeed senses the concern radiating from Riesenlied, and shakes her head lightly, as if to ward it off. ...She's troubled, but doesn't show much intention of bringing it up, yet. ...Whereas Dog is obviously excited to see these new people. She looks up at Riesenlied and then blinks as she's nudged by Noeline, offering a light bark of surprise.

Lily turns to the dog and lifts an eyebrow, and the puppy sits down, wagging her tail quietly. ...Looking up brightly at Noeline.

Lily, for her part, shrugs a little at where Maya is from. "It doesn't matter," she suggests. While she talks, she looks a bit at the airship, considering. She allows the others to handle the talking at first. But...

"You don't have to hide it if it destroys any witnesses to its presence," she points out, about as cheerfully as one would imagine. That sense of being troubled is magnified after a moment though. As Leon glances to her. The truth is that she wouldn't like. And yet...

"Gryndille, as you know, is being directed by a group within the Kislevi army. ...They intend to direct it to assassinate the Kaiser, possibly in a bid to take control of the Empire."

She pauses. "...My father, specifically, is likely behind it. Colonel Keil."

<Pose Tracker> Riesenlied has posed.

Riesenlied nods slowly towards Noeline, perhaps still feeling a bit of guilt; but as a leader, she knows she has to carry on even when it feels quite tough. "I don't think she's native to Aveh... but the Schrodinger family is quite well-off, so it wasn't much to acquire a place even in the Noble Quarters for them. Still..." She sighs softly, shaking her head.

Riesenlied knows about the risks of inviting Solaris' wrath, but... at the very least, the ability to attain a vessel capable of holding people that can cross the ocean -- is ultimately necessary, to save the Tainted who're even worse off back in the Gutter. Those who can't even walk or care for themselves...

She listens to Leon's briefing. So Ash Hare wasn't the base... that probably does make sense -- she probably would've guessed that even if it had a base, it would rotate once every few months or so, for sec-ops and rapid response to evolving needs.

But ultimately, her eyes widen as Lily explains. She didn't know that Gryndille was the brainchild of a separatist faction, actually... "... a coup ... that would likely incite even greater unrest and violence in the Aveh-Kislev region. And no doubt, Aveh's allies will see that as an opportunity."

She glances aside, murmuring, "Your father... that could not have been easy to find out."

<Pose Tracker> Noeline has posed.

If Noeline is surprised at the name, she doesn't show it - but then, she's actually kneeling down right at the moment Lily says it, stooping to pat the dog on the head a couple of times. "There, there," she hums with a soft snicker. "I expect we can find a treat or two, hm?-- I very much doubt that she's anything of a nationalist, at least," she snickers to herself as she stands back up, automatically moving towards the bar to find a bowl and a canteen of water.

When she steps back, it's to set the makeshift dog bowl down, and then she straightens up as if she didn't just take an interlude like that.

"Even if it wasn't at the base, we can at least surmise a few things from confirming it /was/ there. Everything must have an operating radius, after all, even something so formidable as Gryndille. If we had the time, I would very much like to sit down with an atlas and plot out its sightings - it might provide some useful metrics, even if those metrics are 'this thing can run for an age at a time', or at least suggest some other areas to search."

She pauses, and glances across at Lily with a pleasant sort of smile, her eyebrows raised. "... I see!... but forgive me for saying - you don't exactly seem the type to let that sort of thing stop you, hm? It may even have no bearing on the matter whatsoever. Destroy Gryndille, you destroy their power play, or at least dramatically set it back."

<Pose Tracker> Leon Albus has posed.

"We have the date," Leon says, before he provides it -- only a few weeks from now. His eyes narrow for a moment. "And the location. The Kaiser's summer palace. It seems that the Kaiser has retired there for a time. We aren't certain, yet, of why or what the occasion is. We intend to travel to Bledavik in a couple of days, and see what we can learn. Exercising due caution, of course, and remaining undercover--I've no intention of handing myself out. But the Colonel..."

He looks at Lily. "...I doubt he will risk being in the capital. He will be somewhere secure, in the event his treason is discovered." And Leon, of course, intends to be sure that it is revealed.

He lets out a long breath. He doesn't comment on whether it was easy. It wasn't for him -- and it was impossibly hard for Lily. "...He was my commanding officer. Among... other things."

Then, he looks to Noeline. "It stands to reason. We found a map showing where it's struck, but it looked like it only showed strikes in the last two or three years. We know it's older than that," he says.

He looks down for a moment, when Noeline says that. But, Leon nods his head. "You're right. We intend to intercept Gryndille and put an end to the plan. We're still developing the strategy for that. It has to be flawless, and the Guardians only know what sort of damned surprises will come our way. The Colonel's no fool."

His lips curl back into a frown, and then he looks down for a moment. His eyebrows knit, as he considers this. Then, he looks up. "There's something that you should both know. We've reformed the Black Wolves, as a mercenary company. What we've done, and what we're likely to do, is going to continue to make names for ourselves. We may as well use it."

<Pose Tracker> Lily Keil has posed.

Lily doesn't talk more on the idea of where Maya is from; instead, well... Inviting Solaris's wrath is something she at least is unlikely to avoid here. So as they all talk, Noeline addresses Dog.

Dog seems to appreciate the headpats, panting happily as she hears the word treat. Once Noeline gives her the bowl, she reaches out to lick Noeline's hand and then busies herself at it.

...Lily lifts an eyebrow, but lets it go. Instead, "More data is usually helpful," Lily agrees, somewhat noncomittally. As for the coup, "It likely would cause more unrest... But I learned most of what I know about tactics from Father. If he's planning this move, it's because he has something in mind to deal with Aveh's allies."

Noeline suggests that Lily isn't the sort to let it stop her, and Lily for her part remains silent for a few moments, melancholy, shaking her head. "...I'm not," she agrees. "No matter who it is, no matter why... Letting sentimentality get in the way loses the battle from the outset." This sounds almost like she's quoting someone--the someone in question may be obvious.

"No, he'll be in a defensible position; that's what his subordinates are for. If anyone can unravel his plans, it's likely to be us. ...Like I said. Almost everything I know about military theory came from him."

Leon mentions the Wolves, and she nods at that. "Which is something in our favor, as well. We can use that name. We can use the confusion and other feelings it will cause."

Lily is closed off, in body language and otherwise, her feelings a mask of her effort to conceal them. ..But that effort itself says a lot.

<Pose Tracker> Riesenlied has posed.

Riesenlied listens closely to the plan, tapping her chin with her finger a little hum. "Perhaps as best a remote location you'd ever consider attacking Kaiser Sigmund himself... but it is unlikely that palace would not have its own defenses. The likely conflict would be quite bloody."

She squints gently and... expresses, "Have you considered sending an anonymous tip that way? I know you've no good blood with the Kaiser himself, but preventing Colonel Keil from achieving his goals seems like it would buy you time... then again, it may deter Gryndille from appearing at all, if they suspect the plan compromised."

A soft sigh, and-- she suggests, "I can provide the Dragons for our operation. Having wings will grant you advantage -- even for a time. I doubt my Dragons can stand up to the might of such an automaton for long, but they can at least assist in insertion and extraction."

She's silent for a while as she listens on Leon's declaration of the Black Wolves -- smiling as she says, "I see. It fits you and Lily to a T -- once a Black Wolf, always a Black Wolf, aren't you? I hope to be able to make use of your services and continue our relationship. And..."

She glances aside. "I, too, have something to say of ourselves -- because this is a good time to continue to push to what I truly desire out of an organisation."

She steps towards the airship plans again -- and gestures. "My original desire... prior to what I had to compromise back in the Photosphere... was always to create a humanitarian organisation. A group dedicated to Aid and Research."

"I want to aid hard-to-reach, remote areas and places visited by man-made or natural disasters with our aerial capabilities; bringing them vital supplies that would otherwise be difficult to provide, such as food, water, and medicine."

The Hyadean pauses for a moment, and expresses, "And Research as well, both in digging into the past... and continuing our studies of the strange diseases that plague Filgaia. Such as Zopt Syndrome, the VR Factor, and the degeneration that plagues us... like Lily once translated, from Colisea Arcadia."

<Pose Tracker> Noeline has posed.

With an almost theatrical sigh, Noeline hangs her head to one side. "Goodness grief, why must everything come along at once? Part of me just wants to curl up and go to sleep for a good month," she grouses - but there's a light in her eyes, and a cocksure sort of grin. "It may be that we can assist with reconnaisance in that respect. At the very least, we might be able to provide some top-notch disguises," she adds as she looks to Riese with an amused hum.

"In the meantime, perhaps we could search around for an idea of where they might be... I dare say that they wouldn't even begin to suspect that a lone dragon would be a threat, let alone working with their enemies. It may be that we can try some likely places and see if we can't bait out a reaction from their guards. I would hope that a covert-specialist group would see through that, but there's little harm in it."

She pauses at the talk of 'Black Wolves', and simply nods her head - the grin tugging a little wider as she does so. "What would be your guess as to how he intends to run interference? There's a world of difference between, say, attempting to pull them off with bribes and favours versus something more physical. Perhaps he's got a route into Bledavik's defences, hm? Have Gryndille attack the centre while he locks down the country?" she wonders, tapping at her lips.

She obviously continues to muse - but falls back to a respectful silence as Riesenlied states her wish for the Ebony Wings, glancing across at the other woman to offer her a slight but genuine smile. "--that said, stopping this thing does appear to fall within that remit. At least in terms of a preventative measure, let alone anything else."

<Pose Tracker> Leon Albus has posed.

"Mm. It likely would," Leon agrees. "And that's the Colonel's intention. To decapitate the seat of government in the blink of an eye, and not be easily connected. We could try to send a tip, but... as you say. And I don't think the Kaiser likely to listen--as well as the danger that the Colonel discovers the note. He doesn't know, yet, that we found Ash Hare."

Or so Leon hopes.

He looks up at Riesenlied, then. His eyes widen for a moment, before he has a slight smile. "You have my thanks," he says. "When we've decided on an approach, we'll contact you and begin to plan."

He looks at Noeline, then. He nods, before he rubs at his chin. "I don't think he's likely to use bribes. He's a direct sort of man. He'll strike at the Kaiser, and then make his move. If I had to guess, he'll use the Kaiser's death to seize power," he says. "But... I didn't understand him before this."

He frowns, looking down for a moment -- and then he looks up at Riesenlied. He blinks, but the smile comes back. "Mm," he says. "Then I'll tell you what you told me. It fits you and Noeline to a T." It may be much too idealistic for him, but he knows well enough that Riesenlied is unlikely to change. "The world could use plenty of both. Aid and research... well, if you need our services, you know who to contact."

His head tilts, then. "Are the other Ebony Wings with you?" he asks.

<Pose Tracker> Lily Keil has posed.

"With Gryndille involved, there's no doubt that the conflict will be bloody. Bloody, brutish, and short, most likely. ...No, the Kaiser wouldn't listen to us, and it would only result in Father adopting a plan we /don't/ know about." It might be easier if she didn't call him that. ...She does regardless.

"Wings are worth considering," Lily agrees, "Though if we can help it... I'd prefer to approach from an angle we won't be seen. There's scouting we have yet to do--and your Dragons if you're offering could do well for that. But don't underestimate them." But... Still, the black-haired woman looks to Riesenlied, and nods.

"Yes, thank you." A pause. "....I see... That's a good idea, frankly. It suits you, and it's valuable. We're only going to see more warefare in the coming days, I think." She pauses. "Research... I can continue to assist you in that. I... have my reasons."

Noeline's questions are answered well enough by Leon already, and Lily considers for a few moments. "...I understand him," Lily says. "In most things, if not in this, if not in /why/ he's acted as he has. If I remove sentimentality from my thoughts, I can think of ways he's likely to act in the future. ....He could claim that the Kaiser has been soft on Aveh; that what Kislev needs is a push, a decisive strike to end this war once and for all--in victory, rather than in a peace that won't last." She sighs, shakes her head.

"...I wonder about the Wings, myself. Recall that Colonel Keil commands the entire special forces structure of the Kislevi army."

Dog keeps eating, for the moment, wagging her tail away. "Assassination, ultimately, is his style."

<Pose Tracker> Riesenlied has posed.

"Yes... it's best to hold our cards to ourselves, I suppose," Riesenlied sounds just a little regrettable -- knowing that there will be people who'll be caught in the line of fire without knowing. It's that side of her that wants to minimise casualties and collateral damage that pushes her to do that, but it's not feasible now, and she knows it.

She nods at Leon, saying, "Do let us know. It seems our chase for the Statues have died down a little... it gives us a bit more time to attend to putting out the other fires. And... of course, Lily -- I'd be a fool to underestimate something that has affected the both of you so heavily." She's learnt that lesson to heart...

There's a faint blush, and she nods to say, "Thank you. The transition will take a little bit more time... but, since my declaration a month or so ago -- just about everyone who doesn't agree with us has by and large left or returned to the Photosphere. My brethren who stay here are largely of the same alignment."

She sounds a bit hurt as she says that... and it's not hard to tell that she's had to face some people who are very close to her. But she persists, as she must.

"Ambition is terrifying, but it's as you say, Lily... it can help you predict him. ... we are ultimately a very small force, incapable of fighting them head on -- but at the same time, to do nothing would not sit right with me at all."

<Pose Tracker> Leon Albus has posed.

"Mm. We'll have to," Leon says. He looks down for a moment, and then nods. Noeline has the right of it: everything, of late, has gotten so damned busy. The mercenary captain hesitates just a moment, before he looks back up at Riesenlied. There is a nod -- of understanding and gratitude -- because he knows perfectly well that she started this journey with them, and will be it to the end. Even if she isn't a Black Wolf, she remains a comrade.

"I'm sorry to hear that," he says. "But... it's for the best. For what you're doing, there isn't room for those who hesitate in their ties to you. And I think your new mission... it's what Filgaia needs."

Then, he looks to Lily. He hesitates -- a frown on his face -- before he nods. "We never knew he had this sort of ambition in him. But, as you both said... we're the best counter there is. And, besides. I'd like--after all that--to meet and have a few words with him."

Perhaps more than words, though...

"And we have a few questions, besides," he adds, quieter.

<Pose Tracker> Lily Keil has posed.

Busy... Well, that's true. Lily has no question of Noeline and Riesenlied's presence, Wolves or no. She looks up to Riesenlied for a moment, considers her. ...SHe can guess what she's thinking. "...Yes," she agrees. As for the Statues, that too troubles Lily, but she shakes her head. "You're not a fool," she answers. "...But I can imagine what has happened, with those leaving. I'm glad I didn't have to kill that girl." She pauses, at that. "But it's as Leon says. You are something Filgaia needs, now. I know you won't stop. ...No more than I will."

Lily looks back to Leon with that frown, and nods to him. "No, we didn't," she admits. "But I should have seen it sooner. I know I should have. I had all the pieces..." It seems that Lily has spent quite a bit of time beating herself up for exactly this, as she shakes her head again. "But I... I need to talk to him, too."

"I have a lot of questions," she says quietly, before looking up to Riesenlied one more time for the moment. "We'll handle the fighting. It's... our place. You'll help in your own way, as always." Lily lifts her injured hand, stares through the bandages for a moment, down, through. "..."

She trails off.

<Pose Tracker> Riesenlied has posed.

There's a faintly bashful look, Riesenlied feeling humbled by what Leon and Lily are both saying. "Cutting ties where we need to... is always painful, and I've no doubt you both have experience with that. But in the end, it does make us stronger." Though Riese herself knows that with people like Kaguya and Ambrosius... that tie may be frayed, but she'll never close her doors to them. "And... I am too. If I had more time to be more open, we wouldn't have to go through all that with Dva, Lily. It's a lesson I've learnt well."

On the topic of speaking with Colonel Keil...

"... I can't imagine how difficult that conversation would be," Riesenlied sighs, looking to Lily. "But don't second guess yourself. You know hindsight is always twenty-twenty."

She tilts her head and expresses, "I'll make sure to minimise harm coming your way. As we have done... as we'll continue to do," as she glances towards that hand for a moment longer. For a moment, thinking of that circuitry she saw back at the Colony.

She dispels that thought, thinking it'd be rude.

<Pose Tracker> Leon Albus has posed.

"Mm. It is true," Leon says. Stronger, but more scarred. He wonders about that. Is there a point where they finally break? He wonders, worry in his eyes. Then, he turns his head, and looks sideways at Lily. His eyes soften, and then he nods. "We'll get to him. And then we will... see what happens."

He looks to the side for a moment, then sighs. His hands slide down into the pockets of his coat, before he looks at Riesenlied. "I've got faith that you will. And with your dragons... as you said. We'll be able to get in with less danger, I think. Or even withdraw the Kaiser quickly."

He has considered whether Gears will be warranted. He hasn't decided, yet.

He shakes his head, as if to clear it. "Ah, too much to consider. I should get a drink," he says. "And check over the village. After that... thing..." He scowls, at the thought of the Primarch. "...I'd like to see how it's doing with own eyes."

<Pose Tracker> Lily Keil has posed.

"...Always stronger," Lily agrees, letting that trail off for a little while. "Yes," she agrees. "I'm sure you have." But the conversation... Well, Lily looks back to Leon, and just for a moment, she allows herself to show a glimpse of how difficult this is for her. "We'll see," she agrees. "I... It's easy to say not to second-guess, but hard to do. I won't let it hinder me on the battlefield." That much she can suggest at least. But--

"Yes, mobility is a large asset. We--" Leon says he should get a drink, and Riese looks to her hand. Lily looks from her hand to Riesenlied, suggesting that she understands what it is that she's looking at. "...I think I'll stay here," Lily suggests to Leon. "For a while." At the bar.

<Pose Tracker> Riesenlied has posed.

A certain refrigerator-torsoed lady, as if on cue, holds out the now-approaching legendary Wayside Potato "Demon" Vodka... "Finally! Thought you'd be brow-beatin' with your throats dry all this time!" she croons, sweeping out glasses and starting to pour some out.

Riesenlied looks a little pale as she says, "I--I will pass, as usual, Val..." knowing herself to be an absolute lightweight. "I understand, though, Lily."

The Tainted aren't invincible. They can roll with the punches... but at some point, they need a ticket out of this whole mess. She glances to the airship plans.

It's their only hope when the thunder comes down upon them at last...

"I'll be back at the orphanage, do feel free to drop by," Riesenlied smiles warmly. "Mikaia and Janey would love to see both of you again."
