- Summary: Jacqueline stumbles upon Tesni one night as she sings a song from her homeland. The two of them talk, and Jacqueline shares her fears with her friend...
========================<* Meribia - Port District *>========================= Meribia's port is impressive; though dwarfed by Pentagulia in sheer size, it sees considerable traffic, particularly between the Meribus and Glenwood continents. Regular ferries move between Meribia and Pendrago, and most cargo ships are willing to take on passengers for a few coins more.

Jacqueline's been away from the Carakin for the past few days, taking care of business in Glenwood. But the atmosphere over there has been heating up lately as war looms on the horizon...and besides, she has urgent business in Nota.
Even so, though, this does not mean there isn't time to stop by her home and take some time to recuperate and prepare for what lies ahead.
Unfortunately, the only way she's capable of communicating long-distance is through the Goddess Statues, and there's no guarantee that any members of the Caravan Kinship have checked them lately and passed word around that she would be returning.
So it may be a bit of surprise when she begins to approach the vehicle, looking a little worn out... It's late by the time she gets back, and the only thing she wanted now was to sleep in her own bad for once in a while.
Of course, she did not realize that there would be something to distract her away from that.

Tess was unaware of Jacqueline's pending return she was out on watch this stary night and Ethius was not around. Given that and they were in the middle of nowhere she was going to do something that would have pissed him off a lot. Sing, music as an emporant thing and a world without it? Had been slowly killing her on some level. She'd taken well to being under cover she was away from home, farther than anyone but Arleph would know. She looked out at the star fille sky with a sense of wonder, seeking one unremarkable star.

"Merch mor bell i ffwrdd ar y môr o sêr, yn chwilio am ei chartref, mor bell i ffwrdd o gartref y mae hi'n crwydro. A fydd hi byth yn gweld bryniau gwyrdd cartref?"
The words were strange and down right alien sounding but Tess seemed to know them quite well.
OOC Translation A girl so far away on the sea of stars, seeking her home, so far away from home does she roam. Will she ever see the green hills of home?)
She has no idea Jacqueline is near she just looks up still seeking the star, she did take a moment to look at Filgaia as well in the night sky her song trails on.

The first thing Jacqueline noticed was the singing. She doesn't know Welsh - the language is completely alien to her - but the emotion, the feeling...they get through to her. It's enough to cause her to freeze in her tracks.
In a way, music was a universal language of its own.
Slowly she begins to approach the singer, and when she's nearby...Jacqueline stands still and quiet with her hands folded in front of her.
She doesn't interrupt. Instead, she waits and listens.

Tesni Inoue clearly does think she's alone as she's singing its clear she's into it, she was known for singing back on Filgaia, Luna she's not but it's not painful to listen to. There is a said tone to it too one normally not heard in Tess' day to day converstations.
"Yn chwilio am long a gollwyd mor hen sydd wedi colli ei ffordd o gartref, yn syrthio o hafan ar fyd o wynt a chanu. Mae slowlyg byd yn marw eto yn ymladd i fyw."
"Yna daeth demoniaid o Dân a Dur, ac roedd hi'n wynebu syrthio yn y frwydr iddynt ond yn deffro mewn lle arall."
"Tir o hud a gwyrdd. Eto i gyd nid ei phen ei hun, erioed yn ceisio bod y ferch erioed yn crwydro yn chwilio am ei ffordd adref."
OOC Translation Seeking a lost ship so old which lost it's way from home, falling from haven upon a world of wind and sang. A world slowlyg dying yet fighting to live. Then came demons of Fire and Steel, she did face falling in battle to them but awoke in another place. A land of magic and green. Yet not her own, still ever seeking the girl ever wanders seeking her way home.)
Tess seems done after a moment and she's just looking not at the planet over head, but a tiny faint random star.

Jacqueline is quiet. The emotions are almost enough to pierce one's heart. She might even be a little teary-eyed, though it'd be hard to tell in the darkness.
She does not applaud when it seems like Tesni is finished. Instead, she takes a single step closer.
"Miss Tesni." Jacqueline says, to let her know that someone's behind her. "That was...beautiful. I've never heard anything quite like that before...!"
"You truly are a talented singer." She compliments, with her hands clasped together. She takes a moment to follow her gaze, then, up to the sky.
...Of course, to Jacqueline,, this is easily misinterpreted as looking at Filgaia itself, rather than the stars around it.
"...You miss it too, don't you...?" She asks, looking up at the Blue Star above.

Tesni Inoue nearly falls from her perch as she hears a voice, she thought everyone else was out or sleeping, thankfully it's not Ethius. Still, she flails and nearly falls over.
"Jacqueline?!" She nearly falls over and she's turning bright red. "Yes, I miss it. I wonder if the way home can be found." She'll move to hop down from her perch.
"Didn't expect to hear from you are you all right?"
Tess does look worried to her friend. She's still a bit red though she's clearly wasn't expecting an audience.

"A-ah! My apologies, I didn't mean to startle you!" Jacqueline says. she moves to catch Tesni if it looks like she's about to fall...but thankfully she's able to catch herself.
"...I'm sure we'll find a way. We must. We've left far too much undone to be stuck here. We'll make a way, if we have to." Jacqueline replies, stepping back a little to give Tesni more room to land.
"Ah...yes, thank you. I'm sorry, I tried to leave a message. These past few days have been rough for me, but...I'll be alright. How have things been around here?" Jacqueline replies with a smile and a grateful nod.
"...Ah...may I ask what you were singing just now? It's unlike anything I've ever heard. I couldn't understand the words, but...it was lovely." She asks.

Tesni Inoue says "Nothing to be sorry for I wasn't expecting anyone to be listening." She looks a bit sheepish now and nods "There's a lot we have to do, that I ahve to do." She'll land now and sem to be all right and she thinks for a second on that.
"I guess it's on me then I should have checked the message more often and what that? Oh the song? It was just about a lost wandering girl, trying to get home."

"Yes...and I won't lie, I do miss home. Sometimes I lie awake at night, wondering how far along Adlehyde's repairs are coming." Jacqueline admits with a nod, and then smiles slightly.
"It's understandable. Honestly, it's easy to forget they're there...I have to use them a lot to coordinate my business, so..." She says with a dismissive nod, then quiets as Tesni explains.
"...Ah, I see..." She nods in understanding. She could see why Tesni would be compelled to sing a song like that, so far from home.
"We'll get back." She repeats with a resolute nod.

Tesni Inoue says "It really is also the lies are getting to me too. I know it's to prevent trouble but ... still it doesn't alway sit right with me even as I know it will cause a worse mess. I should get into the habit of it myself. "We still have the Metal Deamons to deal with. I need to get strong enough to face Harken again too at some point. So what have you been up to and do you need help. I'd be wandering alone if you hadn't been willing to take me in."

"Mm, yeah. I think...at this point, it's far too late. Word is already getting out. ARMs have spread to Lunarian citizens. Filgaian individuals are already actively interfering with Lunarian politics. No amount of suppression or...erasure, is going to stop it now." Jacqueline replies, shaking her head with a disappointed sigh.
Jacqueline didn't believe in revenge. Just because Lunar brought Malevolence to Filgaia, doesn't mean they needed to spread their own disease here, as well.
And of course, the Metal Demons...that was something else they brought with them.
"Yes...I can only hope that with their leadership so scattered, that their war machine back on Filgaia has been stalled as well." She comments. She offers Tesni a smile, then.
"I've been...tracking down a friend of mine. I think she's gotten herself into some nasty business, so...I'm hoping I can talk with her and convince her to stop before she does something she can't go back from." She replies. "I should be fine, but I appreciate the offer."
With that said, Jacqueline looks around herself.
"...It isn't home, but...Lunar truly is a beautiful world. You should take some time to yourself, Miss Tesni. See the sights, take them in...it's worth it."

Tesni Inoue says "Those who live by the sword die by the ARM." She grimaces at this news and looks to her. "Ethius is going to just explode at that. I don't think dealing with the parties behind it will help. It will be impossible to keep the specs and knowhow to make them hidden now. WAit the demons?" She looks wide eyed for a moment.
"Look I'd want to help you gave me a place to call home and it doesn't feel right leaving you snapping in the wind on that. Also if theres a mess out htere we can try to Mitgate some of the damage "
She looks to the sky for a moment
"It really is, they haven't turned to industry here, the water is clean as the air. Nothing to worry about with the food, and they have ample space to deal with population growth for sometime. Don't worry I have been exploring. It's wonderful here, it really feels like I walked into a fantasy novel."

"Yes...it's horrible." Jacqueline agrees with a nod. It was no big secret that she was not a fan of ARMs - at least, not ones built for murder.
"He already has. I've run into him a few times, but he's never stuck around for long. We even had a bit of an...altercation the other day, regarding his methods." She replies, shaking her head.
...That was putting it lightly.
"Ah, yes, my apologies...the Metal Demons are here, as well, are at least one of them is...though at the moment they've been laying low. Hopefully it remains that way." She replies...and then smiles.
"...Well, alright. I'm going to be heading out to Nota in the morning. I have reliable information that suggests she'll be there...you're free to accompany me, if you like. I'm sure...everything will be alright, though." She offers, and nods.
...That's what she says, but a part of her tone doesn't sound...confident. Almost afraid, as if she fears the worst. She readily changes the subject.
"Yes... The plants here, they grow more strongly than they ever did back on Filgaia. I've never seen specimens so...well, so lively! It's going to get used to Filgaian produce after this, I'll tell you that." She remarks with a chuckle.
[OOC] Jacqueline Barber says, "Bluray - It's going to be hard to* get used to Filgaian produce"

Tesni Inoue says "I will not lie, weaponized ARMS are terrfying. The Dead Man's ARM is no exception, as for the Demons? Well at least they are not surging, right?" There is a look of fear on her face about hearing Ethius has gone full bore. She is clearly afraid yet will say nothing on it.
"Then I am coming with you as backup. As for the food I know, it's so good! I wonder if we could grow any of it back home? Might even be able to find something to help hold the deserts back or maybe even reclaim some of it."

Jacqueline nods. She had not personally seen the Dead Man's ARM in action - at least, not in a serious fight, but if Tesni said it, she wouldn't doubt it.
"...That's true, though admittedly the secrecy worries me. I guess I...can't help but fear the possibility of another Adlehyde..." Jacqueline murmurs.
They had taken her home from her, after all - and not just hers.
"Yes, it is! I'm going to give it a try, at least...I have some specimens growing, but the real test will be to see what happens if I bring them back home." Jacqueline replies. "I found a useful book not too long ago that should help in that endeavor..."
The only thing they could do for now, though, was wait and see.

Tesni Inoue grimaces a bit at Jacqueline's comments about Adlehyde. She's not suyre what to say on that further as for the now topic change? She has something to say there. "Right, I'll keep an eye out for any deals on seeds. While traveling, though if we're heading out? We should get some sleep, right?"

The grimace was all that was needed, really.
"I'd appreciate that! I've uncovered some rare finds of my own, but every little bit helps!" Jacqueline replies, in regards to the seeds. She nods, then.
"I agree. We'll want to make sure we're well-rested for the journey ahead. ...Just in case." She replies.
She didn't want to have to fight Neriah...she hoped dearly that she would be willing to talk with her.
...What was she going to do if that was no longer within the realm of possibility...?
