======================<* CHALLENGE - A Running Start *>=======================
|Type: Entry |Dungeon Ability: Agility |Challenge Rating: 2 |
--------------------------< Challenge Information: >--------------------------
The outer wall of this 'new' Lahan looks rather battered and beat up. It
consists mostly of broken Gear parts which have been welded together, razor
wire, fallen trees, as well as anything else on hand that might serve to
keep the riff raff out... or in, depending on how you want to view things.
The entire structure is hardly the most stable thing, and mainly exists as a
means of delineating the outer boundary of the town and ensuring that wild
 animals don't just walk inside.

Of course, there's always just rushing your way into town. The guard post
is either empty or lightly manned at this time of day, and the occasional
vagrant just wanders on in. If you are quick and clever, it is entirely
possible to just run inside and get lost in the crowd before the guards can
do anything about it. Just be careful not to elicit too much pursuit!

<Pose Tracker> Fei Fong Wong has posed.

Fei Fong Wong heard that since the time he left, outlaws!!!! the worst kind of people have taken over the town! Well, uh, what remains of the town. It was a nice town once okay? Anyway, it's largely thanks to Fei that it no longer is a nice town and so he thinks it's his responsibility, in part, to deal with it.

He hired up a crew, largely of folks he doesn't know TOO well, in order to help him investigate. Or knock some heads together. Fei hasn't figured out which yet.

Naturally, Fei knows his way around this town pretty well back when it was a town but he hasn't been back much since. This leads him to have what may be the worst qualities of sneaking in. He just intends to walk in through the front ... gate? He might listen to other plans, but judging by the deep frown on his face he ain't a happy camper.

DG: Fei Fong Wong has contributed a Agility Basic Action toward his party's challenge, A Running Start.

<Pose Tracker> Chime Isa has posed.

Chime hums cheerfully as the group walks along, her leather vest making a light jingling noise as she goes. She'd been happy to help, and even more cheerful in her haggling over a price. Not that Chime was ever uncheerful it seemed.

Glancing left, glancing right, glancing at the guard post. "Not very attentive outlaws~ Maybe they're making a meal for us to eat as they escape out another way?" she askes in a cheerful if snarky voice. She seems to have no issues just walking in. It's not like it's the first time in over forty years of living she's simply fought or walked her way straight into something probably dangerous with a group of others.

<Pose Tracker> Skylr Paer has posed.

Skylr got appropriated to go explore a thing. This thing happens to be... outlaw town? Skylr is displeased with this situation. This means, more than likely, that there is probably going to be a fight, and Skylr is Done Fighting. However, that also means there's probably music, drugs, and drinking, all of which she should try to quash in Althena's name, so... there you have it. All the justification she needs to be here.

The look of disapproval on her face is so firm though. So firm.

"You think they're just going to let us walk through the gate?" She asks Fei, incredulously. "It's... a pretty ballsy move... like a ram trying to avoid getting sheared." She says thoughtfully. Then, to Chime: "Yeah, right." Is her dry comment.

However: Skylr doesn't mind following Fei in. She's a little slow, though.

DG: Skylr Paer has contributed a Agility Basic Action toward her party's challenge, A Running Start.
DG: Chime Isa has contributed a Agility Basic Action toward her party's challenge, A Running Start.

<Pose Tracker> Matilda Whitehead has posed.

Matilda's worked with Fei enough times to at least know that she doesn't hate working with Fei. This is a good start to any bit of exploration or problem-addressing.

As the bleach-blonde compounder approaches the 'new' Lahan, she scowls a little. "Mmm -- so this is..." she murmurs quietly, considering her approach. In the end, though, knowing what she knows about Fei and Chime... it's not worth it to try to approach stealthily.

She settles for striding in alongside Fei, moving as quickly as possible through the guard post, straightening her coat slightly as she does so. "... It seems that way," she offers to Skylr.

=======================<* CHALLENGE - Takes A Snitch *>=======================
|Type: Exploration |Dungeon Ability: Wits |Challenge Rating: 1 |
--------------------------< Challenge Information: >--------------------------
There's always a few people in every town and city that are willing to sell
information, or trade for a valuable tip that they can use to make a profit.
This new and less improved Lahan is no difference, and a shadowy figure
calls the party over from a nearby alleyway. "Hey," they whisper. "If you're
looking for who is in charge around here, I can point you in the right
direction. Even show you a safe way there. You'll need to make it worth my
 while though."

The group will need to either convince the informant that they have
something valuable to trade - the informant is interested in useful
information more than money - or lie convincingly enough that they know
something to loosen his lips. Success means a respite from the rougher parts
of the city - failure, another possible visit from the guards.
=Dungeon Conditions: Secret===================================================

<Pose Tracker> Fei Fong Wong has posed.

Well hopefully this isn't the start of some beautiful pain. Fei looks over to Skylr. "Huh?" He asks of her. "This is my hometown, I'm not going to sneak in. Besides..." He shakes his head. "I'm the one who destroyed this place. I'm sure they'll know better than to mess with--"

There's a loud bang from one of the towers and Fei frowns as blood starts seeping through his shirt. It's just peasantwear and it's very cheap but it's what he owns.

"Okay nevermind." He says. "Let's run in."

There's a few more peppered gunsmoke arm fire pelting the group as they, well....bust in like a ram trying to avoid getting sheared.

"Sorry about that," Fei says casually to Skylr. "I'm afraid I don't know you two as well as Miss Whitehead over here. Where are you from?" He isn't paying much mind to his gunshot wound.

<Pose Tracker> Chime Isa has posed.

Chime's humming stops at the first gunshot, an eyebrow arching as she remarks "Wow, don't see that level of accuracy often with bandits~ Through I'm sure they were aiming for a kill shot. Aren't you lucky!" in a cheerful voice. But she doesn't argue as they start to run. A couple shots graze her, but her panting is more from the sprint than any pain.

Looking at Fei as they for a few moments break contact inside the shanty village from the guards, she says to him "Should maybe wrap that~ And I'm from Adlehyde, through I've spent the last twenty some odd years traveling now.". And then a soft call from the side.

A figure hides in the shadows of an alley, beckoning the group over, making an offer. Chime rubs her chin, and says with a smile "Well~ I've a wonderful book here that probably has something useful. Certainly a one you," turning back to Fei, "can use would be to apply honey and a wrap to that wound~" as she hands him a wrap and small thing of honey procured from her vest? Then she's back to the informant more than cheerfully ready to haggle information for information.

DG: You use your Tool Cure-Alls against your party's Challenge, Takes A Snitch!
DG: Chime Isa has used her Tool Cure-Alls toward her party's challenge, Takes A Snitch.

<Pose Tracker> Skylr Paer has posed.

Oh, hey, that's gunfire. Skylr yelps and puts on the speed as she bolts after Fei and the other two. She gets grazed, but she's sturdier than she looks, as she somewhat shrugs off of the pain, grimacing slightly as they make their way into the town proper. As Fei admits it's his hometown, her frown deepens.

"Oh, um... I'm Skylr, and I'm from Azado... you know... the whale'd town."

Skylr glances at the person going 'psst' at them. She is instinctively distrusting of him: however, information is the name of her game, nearly as much as she is a White Mage. Digging into the bag on her hip, Skylr pulls out a leatherbound book; based on the wear and tear, it's possibly as old as the young priestess is. "Information I can offer you... an equal trade, just like you suggested."

She plants herself solidly, offering the trade (but not the book) to him.

DG: Skylr Paer has used her Tool Book of Notes toward her party's challenge, Takes A Snitch.

<Pose Tracker> Fei Fong Wong has posed.

Fei's eyes widen as Skylr says where she's from. "Azado!" He looks down for a moment. "...I'm sorry. I couldn't defend your home." He shakes his head after a few moments. "To be honest, and I don't mean to uh suggest anything, but this sort of thing happens a lot. At least, I see it a lot." There's a longer pause. "Usually after I get there but sometimes when I decide to not go there. Anyway, what I'm trying to say is, you're not alone. This town used to be one of the kindest towns I've ever been to. And now look at it."

He exhales in a long sigh. "Thanks to me. I thought it would just end after it was purified, but now it's a bandit hideout. Will the damage done by my failures ever end?"

He looks back to Skylr. "You're new to Filgaia so...be careful. The folks here can be pretty rough and definitely not fair."

He grimaces as Chime says he's lucky. "Yeah." He says with just enough sarcasm to suggest he may have wished for the killshot. "Lucky." From Adlehyde, though, he does manage a small genuine smile at that. "Glad I was able to help the town this time. It could've been a lot worse." Even Fei has to acknowledge he did what heavy lifting he could there. It STILL wasn't enough, but at least the people were safe.

"I do sketches." Fei tells the 'informant' mysteriously. "Whatcha want sketched?"

DG: Fei Fong Wong has used his Tool Artist's Toolkit toward his party's challenge, Takes A Snitch.

<Pose Tracker> Matilda Whitehead has posed.

Matilda takes a few minor flesh wounds -- she's gotten... less and less concerned about those, though, over time. She does take a moment to wrap the worst one, though, while Chime and Skylr start to address their potential informant.

As Fei gives Skylr a warning, Matilda says, "... Honestly, misdirection's universal. I didn't encounter much *less* of it on Lunar than Filgaia -- just rougher-looking men on this particular planet." She lets out a small sigh, at that. No matter where you go...

Reaching into her bag, Matilda pulls out a notebook. It's a smaller one than her usual. "For the most part, what I can tell you is -- actually, no, on reflection... I *do* have some news about smuggling in Krosse..."

Where on Earth did she get *that* news?

DG: Matilda Whitehead has used her Tool Portable Library toward her party's challenge, Takes A Snitch.

<Pose Tracker> Chime Isa has posed.

It doesn't long to overwhelm the informant with so much ready information! Granted, in the overwhelming push he might not have gotten the best of the deal, but hey everyone walked away happy at the time.

Smiling cheerfully, Chime says "Well, that went well~ But let's move on before the guards poke through?" she says brightly, motioning the way the informant had told them to go to avoid some of the rougher parts of the city getting to where they want to, now that they knew who was in charge and where.

People throw things. It's not polite, but who is polite in this town?

There is a loud shout, and sometime comes out of nowhere at the party. It
could be a bottle of hooch, someone throwing a weapon (by accident or not),
a horse barreling out of nowhere, or some other manner of strange
 contrivance.

Getting hit is probably going to hurt - but the party has probably dealt
with stranger than this before. The real question is what is thrown at them,
and just what else the town is going to see fit to throw at them next?
=Dungeon Conditions: Tire=====================================================

<Pose Tracker> Matilda Whitehead has posed.

Matilda... actually regrets giving away the information she did -- but that's fine. She'll take care of it later. She takes a moment to breathe, and --

"Hey! Catch!"

Matilda doesn't even bother to look at *what's* been thrown at her; she just hits the dirt on reflex, and hopes everyone else does the same.

  • Whatever* the object was, it sails through the air majestically...
DG: Matilda Whitehead has contributed a Agility Basic Action toward her party's challenge, Hey! Catch!.

<Pose Tracker> Chime Isa has posed.

Chime hums softly, saying "You know, the nifty thing about destroying a place is that it doesn't always just vanish. People are pretty resilent and readily happy to rebuild. Sometime that even brings improvements. Sometimes, well." waving a hand even as she speaks in a cheerful tone with a bright smile.

And then the shout and Chime is looking around, jumping back hopefully to safety as someth majestically soars through the air... is that wool? an expression of curiousity on the cheerful elf's face.

DG: Chime Isa has contributed a Agility Basic Action toward her party's challenge, Hey! Catch!.

<Pose Tracker> Skylr Paer has posed.

"... it's okay. I couldn't defend my home, either." Skylr sounds sad, which is reasonable, then bitter. No wonder she didn't offer an opinion about this hometown. "Eh... no, I was on Filgaia before... the original time the Destiny got stuck here. This is my first time really, um... out and about on my own."

Someone shouts 'catch'.

Skylr looks up.

Skylr promptly looks down and throws herself to the left and to the ground, practically dive-tackling the ground like there was a baby sheep trying to run away from her.

DG: Skylr Paer has contributed a Agility Basic Action toward her party's challenge, Hey! Catch!.

<Pose Tracker> Fei Fong Wong has posed.

"Oh you're with the Guard," Fei says with a small frown, but just a small one. He isn't going to press into an argument. Not now. He does give a look of some concern and he says, "Well." to Chime. "Hate to tell you, but none of the folks who used to live here are probably still around." He frowns for a moment.

He takes a moment to seriously worry that Dan took over this town with his ORGANIZED CRIME connections.

Anyway something is sailing through the air. Fei throws himself out of the way of this mysterious object, but honestly the odds of him dodging into a moving horse is just as possible. Why did so many jerks move to this place?! There's a lot of wasteland!! WHY HERE???

He does not blow up Lahan a second time.

Yet.

DG: The party led by Fei Fong Wong has passed this challenge! The party gained 30 exploration! If anyone needs to use party management commands, do so now. Otherwise, the next round's GM may begin the next round with +dungeon/draw.

<Pose Tracker> Matilda Whitehead has posed.

Matilda hits the dirt, and Chime jumps back, and as a result neither get nailed with anything; Fei does a sick dodge with afterimages like every Playstation character.

Skylr, however, actually hits the dirt in exactly the spot the object *lands*. It lands, in fact, squarely on her butt; when she gets up to look at it, though, it's...

... directions to somewhere else in the town? A gift, perhaps, from their earlier information trade?

... At least it's something to go on!

DG: Skylr Paer has drawn a new Challenge.

===================<* CHALLENGE - Establishing Dominance *>===================
|Type: Exploration |Dungeon Ability: Combat |Challenge Rating: 2 |
--------------------------< Challenge Information: >--------------------------
This new, less reputable Lahan is filled with men and women of less
reputable providence, and one look around makes it clear that no one is
really 'safe' here. The guards, when they can be seen, tend to only be
looking to break out major incidents or to throw out people that they
believe don't belong with the motley inhabitants of this town. Gunsmoke
weapons, blades, and other improvised tools of combat are in evidence
everywhere, and as the party wanders through the crowd they find a few
toughs starting to trail them, giving them the once over and trying to
decide if they want to mug them out here in front of the entire town.

A modest show of force might convince them that backing off is a wise idea
 - and earn the respect of the locals to boot.
=Dungeon Conditions: Injure, Secret===========================================

<Pose Tracker> Skylr Paer has posed.

The guards aren't really too noticable here, deeper as they move into Lahan. The mean and women that look around are looking at the group much like they might look at a pile of gold; they're new, untested, and possibly offer much riches if handled correctly.

Unfortunately for the group at hand, the ones that are tailing them are showing enough weaponry of various types that 'handled correctly' is, in fact, exceptionally more dangerous at the moment. The many alleyways and ruined buildings, however, do offer much of cover for both ally and foe; and, to be frank, the weaponry the locals have isn't much to speak of due to its' hodgepodge nature.

<Pose Tracker> Chime Isa has posed.

Chime nods at Fei, "Undoubtable~" she says cheerily, "Outlaws tend to be the worse like that.". She peers at the item landing on Skylr's butt with a bemused expression, and then cheerfully hums as the group begins it's walk again through the shanty village.

Chime makes random remarks on the quality of various gunsmoke weapons as they go, never loud enough to be heard by anyone outside the group, and her critique while cheerful is scathing. Then, "So, I'm sure it's just because I look like a child isn't it that three wannabes are trying to decide to jump us isn't it?" her voice cheerful, but full of snark.

One of her hands fall to a crossbow grip resting on it. "Should we, mmm, discourage them?" she asks with a bright smile. "Oorrr, do we want to ditch them?" she drawls slightly.

DG: Chime Isa has contributed a Combat Basic Action toward her party's challenge, Establishing Dominance.

<Pose Tracker> Skylr Paer has posed.

Skylr dives, and ... something hits her behind. "Ow." She says. "I was so sure it was gonna land a little bit that other way..." She rolls to her rear end, and glances at what she got smacked with, one eyebrow raising. "Directions. We'll have to take a look at these in a minute..."

"... not right now, though." She says. She digs in her bag rapidly again, pulling out a curious series of wet woolen patches. "I'd wrap that around an injury - we all probably have some grazes. It'd help." She says, simply. It's a nice smelling bit of cloth, although a little scratchy. Instinct draws her closer to Fei, her own longbow coming to hand.

When in doubt, standing near the much more muscular brick of a dude tends to go well for her...

DG: Skylr Paer has used her Tool Cleansing Poultice toward her party's challenge, Establishing Dominance.

<Pose Tracker> Fei Fong Wong has posed.

Fei politely does not mention Skylr's bottle butt.

Fei approaches the group and with his hands in his pockets. One of them threatens him with a spear but Fei just draws out a badge.

An RPS Badge. He looks at it for a moment, lifting it up high so the thug harassing him can see it and then he flicks it into the air, catches it, and pockets it.

"Wait..." The wheels in the man's noggin starts turning and then his eyes widen, "You're...!!"

And he promptly runs away. Fei sighs and rubs at his forehead.

"I just wanted to have an RPS Match."

DG: Fei Fong Wong has used his Tool RPS Badge toward his party's challenge, Establishing Dominance.

<Pose Tracker> Matilda Whitehead has posed.

"I'm inclined to discourage," Matilda says to Chime, withdrawing a gunsmoke pistol. She doesn't want to broadcast that she has anything more valuable -- at least, not here, not now. "In situations like this... it's best to display that you have force enough that they'll respect it." A little dire, perhaps.

Mercifully, Matilda does not *actually directly shoot* anyone. Yet. After Fei accidentally scares someone off, Matilda fires a warning shot at the feet of one of the toughs. "The next one won't be aimed downward," she says, tone almost perfectly flat.

<Pose Tracker> Skylr Paer has posed.

The one that spots Fei and then bolts gets stares from the rest of the watchers and wanna-be toughs.

A muttering arises from the group, but the double bows gripped by Skylr and Chime alike get some to withdraw. Matilda offering a warning fire scatter the rest: While the party may not be the most muscular, the very nature of them all being highly, visibly competent basically scatters the rest. The more cool-headed, or long-term minded, still hang around, but for the most part, the party has been relieved of the chance of getting mugged. Most part, because this is still outlaw's land, and there's always that chance.

|Type: Climax |Dungeon Ability: Wits |Challenge Rating: 2 |
--------------------------< Challenge Information: >--------------------------
The main hive of activity in Lahan centers around a large building that has
been thrown up in the center of town. Bearing the name 'The Red Demon Bar',
it is an unsavory sort of place where a considerable amount of the business
in this city occurs. Just walking in the door without knowing the local
customs tends to make someone as an outsider, but unlike many other places
in the city not belonging does not draw an immediate hostile reaction.
Instead the party will find a number of patrons moving in on them - within
moments they are being jostled, pushed around, and shoved deeper into the
bar. While no one is overtly threatening, it's entirely too easy to lose
weapons and gear in the dense mass of humanity moving through this bar. But
the outsiders are herded into the center - the real trick is getting there
without getting knocked around too much, and without having important pieces
of gear pulled away in the process.
=Dungeon Conditions: Wound, Tire==============================================

<Pose Tracker> Fei Fong Wong has posed.

Fei Fong Wong doesn't engage in any more violence, but his reputation here is clearly not very ... good for some reason. Sure, none of these people are natives of Lahan but Fei's bounty is almost entirely centered around him blowing up Lahan in the first place (and also heresy but mostly Lahan here). The various scraps and bits of information the team has managed to come up with leads everybody into a place called The Red Demon Bar. The moment Fei heard that name, his eyes narrowed considerably and he stalked off in that direction without a word.

He approaches the door to the Red Demon Bar. Surely Fei is just determined to ask for more information here and he's not going to--

--oh okay he's kicking the door down, an aura of chi crackling around his body at a subtle level, but certainly present.

"How dare you...!" Fei says. "Profiting off of Lahan's misery! Do you not have even an ounce of shame?!"

The patrons turn to look at Fei, and of course--the group.

They stare for a moment before the majority go back to their gambling and chicanery, but a small crowd starts bustling in and just intending to leave the bar. Whether it's to get away from Fei or to rob him blind, it's unclear, but Fei is outright roundhouse kicking anybody who gets close to him.

Fei.

Fei buddy.

It's a wits challenge, Fei.

DG: Fei Fong Wong has contributed a Wits Basic Action toward his party's challenge, The Red Demon Bar.

<Pose Tracker> Chime Isa has posed.

Chime reholsters her crossbow with a little hum, and says "My, at least they're smart enough to live~" as the toughs scatter. But she does look at Fei curiously, clearly wondering why the first one ran away. But then she shrugs and says "Maybe he knew you were a rock, paper, scissors champion and didn't want his winning streak ruined~" in a cheerful tone.

As Fei makes a dramatic entrance into the Red Memon Bar, Chime shakes her head in a little giggle saying "It's like right out of a action story~", and without even hestiating follow Fei in still giggling to herself.

The four and half foot tall elf has no qualms about using her height to her advantage as she nimble follows Fei, ducking his roundhouse kicks when she needs to... And smacking hands where she can or needs to with the spine of her favorite book of cure-alls. She even gives some of the patron hang-over cure advice!

DG: You use your Tool Cure-Alls against your party's Challenge, The Red Demon Bar!
DG: Chime Isa has used her Tool Cure-Alls toward her party's challenge, The Red Demon Bar.

<Pose Tracker> Skylr Paer has posed.

"Um...." Fei stalks off, and Skylr darts after him, although her little "oh my goodness!" is perhaps surprising. How is Skylr still surprised after everything else they've been through... who knows? She does watch him start charging through the bar, and one hand comes up as she gets pressed by people. She doesn't like people. Anxiety rises in her face, and her bag gets hugged to her chest. Hell, she can lose her bow, quiver, and arrows - unlike what's in the bag, well...

Those are replaceable.

Speaking off what's in the bag.... Skylr starts thinking, a crease in her forehead as she weaves through the crowd. Not as agile as Chime is, she uses her sturdier frame to push back into people. The thing with being a guard... right! She has to be able to prove her strength, as a member of Althena's Guard: She has to be strong, otherwise she won't be able to fulfil Althena's will!

She smiles at that. She had to write it down, along with all of the other advice she's ever gotten, and her head tilts upward, a blaze of fire in her eyes as she keeps up with Fei as they push into the back of the bar, using her bag to whap people getting too handy.

DG: Skylr Paer has used her Tool Book of Notes toward her party's challenge, The Red Demon Bar.

<Pose Tracker> Matilda Whitehead has posed.

As Matilda starts to storm toward, and subsequently into, the Red Demon Bar, Matilda... just winces. She moves after him, but it's almost a scurry; her body language, within moments of entering, starts to close off entirely.

What she *does* do, as they advance, is reach into her pack for... something. After a few moments, it becomes clear what it is -- it's an annotated textbook. It looks *extremely* well-loved.

Matilda opens it to some pages with extensive notes, as she shuffles as unassumingly forward as she can; it seems she's looking for... sedatives? That she can make with the particular set of compounding and pharmacy reagents that she has on hand?

... She doesn't find anything. But reading *does* calm *her* down a little.

DG: Matilda Whitehead has used her Tool Portable Library toward her party's challenge, The Red Demon Bar.

The center of the Red Demon Bar plays host to a large pit, ten feet deep and
with a floor of packed sand. The party finds themselves pushed into the
arena by the crowd, who immediately begin to pile in around the rim. The
sound of cheers, laughing, and stomping feet is deafening - until a voice
crackles over a loud speaker, cutting in over the noise.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, we have a show for you tonight! A new set of
contestants have come to Lahan, looking for wealth, glory, and perhaps a bit
of enlightenment! We we've all found these things in the Sanharsh, and in

the same! Remember, if any of them are standing at the end of five minutes

The party is pitted against one of the champions of the Red Demon Bar in a
single five minute round of combat! While the fight is dangerous, it is not

Feel free to come up with your own crazy champion to fight, but past
contenders include The Symbombogical Specialist, a caster with a penchant
for explosive magic; the Terrible Maw, a Tiger Shark Beast Man with enough
teeth to match his bad attitude; and the Silent Assassin, an exotic young
man wearing a white cloak who fights with an unnaturally sharp blade.
=Dungeon Conditions: Fright===================================================

<Pose Tracker> Fei Fong Wong has posed.

Eventually in spite of Fei's abuse of, well, not exactly innocent people but not exactly brutal people either--the team finds themselves gradually pushed inward, Fei practically growling like--YES--a wolf as he's pushed against his will. And in fact everybody's pushed against their will! And they end up in the center of a large pit. Since it's ten feet deep, this involves a tumble. Maybe Fei shouldn't have started kung fu-ing people or...honestly it seems like they were planning on doing this anyway.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, we have a show for you tonight! A new set of contestants have come to Lahan, looking for wealth, glory, and perhaps a bit of enlightenment! We we've all found these things in the Sanharsh, and in the spirit of fairness we want to give our new compatriots a chance to do the same! Remember, if any of them are standing at the end of five minutes with our champion, they've earned about as much respect as you are going to get around here! ...which isn't much, to be fair!"

"Our current champion...is the TERRIBLE! MAWW!!!! He snaps! He bites! And he hasn't eaten for a while and he's looking for some dinner!!!"

The Terrible Maw walks out into the center ring, flexing his muscular arms and grinning with his sharp fangs that would put a Lydia to shame.

And then he says in a pleasant voice. "Hey, don't worry about the whole 'eating you' thing, these people are racist as fuck."

"No kidding." Fei says.

"Right, but I mean. I'm still going to bite you." The Terrible Maw says. "I mean, when Granas gives you massive amounts of fangs, you bite people. It's what he would've wanted, but I'm not going to swallow that's disgusting."

"Right." Fei says before he flicks his RPS Badge into the air and tries to slide tackle the guy while he's distracted.

DG: Fei Fong Wong has used his Tool RPS Badge toward his party's challenge, The Sangharsh.

<Pose Tracker> Chime Isa has posed.

Chime's advice and size makes it easy to avoid losing anything. And her quick whaps with the spine of a hardcover thin book. But with ever bruise a recommendation on how to heal it... Through the dipping the bruise in a pot of boiling garlic steeped water probably won't work.

And then into the pit~ Chime lands light on her feet, and deftly moves slightly so that the other two have room to land too. No need to be made smaller. And then the announcer is off and Chime blinks, and begins to giggle almost uncontrollably. "Oh, oh stars chichichi and sand~ This chichichi is going to make chichichi a great story chichichi~" as she works to compose herself by the time everything is ready to start.

And just in time! As Fei charges into a sliding tackle Chime draws a thick large bolt from her vest and chucks it sharply for Maw's forehead hopefully helping keep him distracted from Fei's slide tackle.

DG: Chime Isa has contributed a Combat Basic Action toward her party's challenge, The Sangharsh.

<Pose Tracker> Skylr Paer has posed.

"... you know what?"

"Althena taught me to be gentle. That is the power of my light. You know what Althena also taught me?" She stares at the Terrible Maww, and she looks /distinctly/ displeased. "... Althena also taught me that if I'm afraid, I'm allowed to use my skills for more than just to heal..." A pause, again.

"Also, I should inform all of you that it is a sinful shame of the amount of carousing, drinking, vulgar language, and music I've been hearing in this town - and as one of her priestesses, I must be prepared to show you the better way."

Skylr uses Lecture! ... in a combat scene.

Hey, it works.

Having handed out the lesson, Skylr immediately slams her hands in a loud clap, a pretty much invisible blast of wind coming from her hands and heading straight for the Maw in an attempt to help pin him down.

DG: Skylr Paer has used her Tool Lessons From Althena toward her party's challenge, The Sangharsh.

<Pose Tracker> Matilda Whitehead has posed.

As the Terrible Maw explains himself, Matilda makes a face. Specifically, Matilda makes this face:

S

Letting the others go in first, Matilda moves up last; after Fei's tricky maneuver, Chime's bolt, and Skylr's... wind-punctuated lecture, Matilda comes in for her own unique brand of nonsense.

Her approach -- in contrast to her unassuming, closed body language -- is swift, brutal, and honestly would probably be unnecessary roughness in a more... fair, even-handed sort of fighting tournament.

While everyone else attacks from the front, Matilda slips to the side, reaching for an arm; she then gives it a nice, solid wrench, pulling it back toward her, while delivering a swift kick to the back. It's the sort of thing that's liable to pull someone's arm entirely out of joint.

DG: Matilda Whitehead has contributed a Combat Basic Action toward her party's challenge, The Sangharsh.

--------------------------< Challenge Information: >--------------------------
The center of the Red Demon Bar plays host to a large pit, ten feet deep and
with a floor of packed sand.

We we've all found these things in the Sanharsh, and in
the spirit of fairness we want to give our new compatriots a chance to do
the same! Remember, if any of them are standing at the end of five minutes
with our champion, they've earned about as much respect as you are going to
get around here! ...which isn't much, to be fair!"

The party is pitted against one of the champions of the Red Demon Bar in a
single five minute round of combat! While the fight is dangerous, it is not
to the death - but losing means being tossed out of the bar!

As the champion goes down, there is a cheer from the crowd - who continue to
get rowdier and rowdier, until it seems like the spectators have devolved
into a full-fledged brawl. It only ends when someone announces over the loud
speaker that drinks will be on the house for the next three rounds, at which
the assorted ruffians give out a tremendous guffaw and begin celebrating
uproariously. They then charge the party and carry them off into the bar for
a round of drinks (on the house) and some partying to celebrate their
 victory over the champion.

The group receives enough promises for favors, knick knacks, the occasional
coin and other items to celebrate their success that they can probably sell
it all for a fair amount of money. Alternately, if someone were to need some
hired muscle... this would be a good time to recruit folks to help with any
projects that need some assistance of a dubious nature. Or just a few strong
backs to get a job done.
=Dungeon Conditions: Treasure=================================================

<Pose Tracker> Fei Fong Wong has posed.

Sadly, while Skylr and Chime end up taking a beating (Chime's bolt merely bounces off the guy's head and Skylr manages to draw aggro away from Fei who has literally been trying to beat up the entire bar before they ended up in this place.

To be clear, Skylr isn't drawing aggro away from the Tiger Shark, she's drawing aggro from the CROWD. They throw beer bottles and rotten food at her and though her attempts to pin the Maw down are more successful, she is not having a great time in this pit. Unless she doesn't mind a fair amount of pain and abuse, at least.

Between this and Fei's tackle, the Maw loses balance juuuust enough for Matilda to get in behind there and snag an arm, pulling it back sharply.

The Terrible Maw howls in pain and taps the floor repeatedly in surrender.

The crowd goes wild anyway though there's some boo-ing too because honestly but nevertheless the team is carted up to the champion's table in short order and are treated like kings and queens for the rest of the evening.

Whether they want to be or not. Really, Fei tries to leave a few times and just gets slammed back down in his seat. After battling THE TERRIBLE MAW he kind of has no choice but to take it.

Skylr in particular is plied with yes bribes, booze, women, men, and all matters of sin. It looks like the Red Demon Bar took her lecture as a challenge.

<Pose Tracker> Chime Isa has posed.

Chime knows her limits~ She's four and half feet tall and built like a child. While she'll happily beat up people that treat like a child, doesn't change she's easy to beat up like a child when she's actively resisting the urge to use her ARMs. But it's not like she doesn't have a seemingly endless amount of random objects to throw to try and distract Mister Maw, ineffective as most of them are getting her generally just smacked away.

"Well, that was a thing~" She quips when it ends just before the crowd goes wild with a bright smile.

When they finally end up at the table, she wastes little time in making some connections. After all~ She's a semi-dubious ARMs Meister, and it's hard to get new ARMs to study and work on without more connections! Also~ New tools and items to replenish her vest pockets. Despite her chattering, she does seem to keep a partial eye on the rest of the younger three.

<Pose Tracker> Skylr Paer has posed.

"Ow! Ow!" Skylr looks annoyed as she gets pelted, but she bears the bruises and cuts she ends with grace, even if it is ill-willed.

The Maw goes down, and they get escorted to a table... where she's promptly got all manner of things shoved in her face. The money is refused politely, as are the bribes and the booze, but the guys and gals coming up definitely throw her for a loop. Send help. Save her. Please.

<Pose Tracker> Matilda Whitehead has posed.

"It -- most certainly was," Matilda agrees, to the comment that this was a thing. As she's ushered to a table and sits down with the rest of the group, she...

... starts working on making connections. She's had months to think about what she needs to do next to achieve her dreams -- and a fair amount of it requires a staggering amount of labor.

She does not even attempt to help Skylr. This is an appropriate welcome to Filgaia, she thinks.

<Pose Tracker> Chime Isa has posed.

Chime does at one point glance at Skylr, and.. giggles. Poor thing, but it's hilarious to the elf, who does finally call over to her "Life is just one challenge after another~ Sometimes for both sides of the challenge~"

<Pose Tracker> Skylr Paer has posed.

Skylr eyes Chime for a second, sighing. "Yeah... yeah..." Then she promptly buries her face in her note o' book, figuring that if she doesn't engage it'll be safer that way. Safer... for now. But they know you now, Skylr. Know you ~ ...
