2019-03-23: Spira-ted Away

<Pose Tracker> Leon Albus has posed.

There is a flash of light on Spira. A flash of Symbols, too; the rapid, starburst flares of Symbological runes, one after another, and so fast that the eye cannot track them. The light fades, and then an alleyway in the great city of Luca that had been empty is no longer.

A small group of people appear.

Leon Albus hits the ground flat on his chest, bumping the metal sealed over his badly wounded shoulder. His shirt and the remains of his coat are soaked in blood, and he looks pale. He groans, using the arm that is not the one near his shattered collarbone to force himself to sit up.

Leon sniffs the air a few times. There is the smell of salt; of the sea. A few cries of birds can be heard, and it is warm here. It is warm and humid, in a way that almost no part of Ignas can claim to, and Leon looks around blearily. His silver eyes are bloodshot.

"What in the world...?"

<Pose Tracker> Xantia has posed.

At least Vinsfeld has more precise aim where it comes to mass teleportation than most. Judging from the fact that, for once during one of these, Xantia didn't end up tossed a large distance removed from where she was before in relation to everyone else. Before, she was little preoccupied with trying to punch the guy who hurt Leon, and then being paralyzed. But upon arrival, she wastes no time even wondering about where they are before hastening to Leon's side, despite having no idea about what she could do to help.

Well. There might have been something she could do. But she hasn't exactly tried to do much in the way of healing others with her powers. And given her previous track record, trying that sort of thing without knowing what she's doing might just as easily lead to Leon spontaneously growing tentacles.

Long story, don't worry about it.

"Leon! Are you okay?" Dumb question Xantia, does he look okay? "I mean... you're going to be alright, aren't you?" She turns to the one who provided the emergency treatment, at this point just wanting reassurance more than anything, asking Ida the same question: "Is he going to be alright?"

She's not sure what else she could have done to keep this from happening, but 90 percent of the reason for going along with Leon even though she'd only just returned from the Guardian Sanctuary was exactly to keep something like this from happening. So she can't help but feel like this was a total failure on her part. "I'm sorry... I really messed up back there. Ugh, I can't believe I couldn't beat that guy... I know he was cheating somehow."

<Pose Tracker> Fei Fong Wong has posed.

Fei Fong Wong had been looking after Elly who...hasn't quite recovered yet. Fei's evil memory was 'a boring office' so surprisingly he, uh, didn't end up particularly injured but that's okay! The brain got mutilated by despair, suffering, and glimpses of awful memories. The power that was mutilated into him.

A mother's face corrupted.

Fei had left to get Elly some soup (he himself got a burger because of course he did) and he has a tray in his hands when he just...appears next to Leon's corpse.

"Huh?" Fei says. There was a flash of light, he remembers.

"Um." He starts walking towards Leon, unaware of where he is or what's going on. In fact, he nearly walks right into Leon.

"Leon!?" He says. "What are you doing--"

He sees the blood. "..."

The tray is shaking. "A..are you okay? Where's Elly? She's still having trouble I..."

He looks around a bit for Elly and says, "Why..."

He sniffs.

"...Is this Aquvy?" His face pales. "...We didn't get teleported to another world did we??"

At least it's got a beach, but it's hard to be happy about that while Leon is dying apparently and Elly is ... somewhere?

He takes another look around, possibly having missed the first glance over. "Guy?" he asks.

He didn't watch telepath vision.

<Pose Tracker> Elhaym van Houten has posed.

The seventh wave comes in.

In it bears...

Elly had been trembling for a long time. She had apologized more times than needed. She had been cleaned off, which had revealed that, thank the Guardians, she hadn't sustained any sucking headwounds, and the red in her left eye was... well, it wasn't going away but it wasn't getting any worse. She had mostly shuddered and tried to do steady breathing exercises.

Elly is still wrapped in that blanket as she washes on the shore. She ends up face down. She thrashes weakly, but it's enough to roll her onto her side, facing away from the tide. She pants for breath. Her hair is hanging out. She pushes herself up on one elbow, struggling to look around. When she sees Fei and Xantia in the distance, she raises one arm to wave...

Which plops her down into the mud again. A tiny crab, extremely startled, flees away from Elly's face. She stares at it wordlessly for a moment.

"... are there crabs in the afterlife?"

<Pose Tracker> Ida Everstead-Rey has posed.

Mere seconds ago, Ida was hunched over Leon, shielding him with her body even though the man who'd almost killed him was gone.

The humid air shimmers. Symbols of power flash into existence, one after another, and space tears itself open; one of the rips disgorges Ida, and seals itself up as quickly as it appeared. She falls, lands flat on her back on the rain-slick ground. She lies there a moment as feeling returns, gasping for breath--Ratatoskr didn't go easy on her, and that narrow contact with Vinsfeld's magic tore her arm open. Her long Arctican cloak and Hyadean armor are stained with two kinds of blood.

She hears the sound of someone groaning, and then Xantia's voice, and then Fei's. The bedraggled woman picks herself up, swaying unsteadily. She glances around the alley, her eyes wide, wariness sneaking through disorientation and pain. "Leon!" she shouts, as the young man picks himself up. "Easy, now!" Ida rushes over, inspects the Hyadean pressure bandage fastened over his chest. It looks like it's still holding, though the stiffness might be a little irritating to Leon. It's definitely better than bleeding out. "Vinsfeld almost cut you to ribbons. I don't have anything that can fix your collarbone unless--" Unless Leon doesn't mind her injecting him with a bone-sealing compound that carries the risk of iron poisoning. She shakes her head. Ida looks over at Fei. "Vinsfeld did this."

<Pose Tracker> Leon Albus has posed.

"Xantia," Leon stammers out, somewhere between relieved and agonized. As he sits up straight, he leans back against Xantia. He winces, and there is a glance around -- more of his awareness coming back to him. He shakes his head. "No, it's fine. Whatever Vinsfeld Rhadamanthus could do, it's..."

The usual quip or attempt to explain, and sound certain of himself, falters.

Argent Divider is shattered. The remains of the broken ARM are not even here with him; the Black Wolves' Captain has to make himself turn to look at Fei. "Fei," he says. "So you're here, too. Wherever... wherever 'here' is. It must have been whatever Rhadamnthus was doing with the Sorcery Globe."

He glances sideways at Ida, and then he shakes his head once at her. No, no Hyadean medicine, thank you. He waves a hand once. "We'll find Lily. Or a healer. This should do for now."

<Pose Tracker> Xantia has posed.

Of the people here who were at the battle with Vinsfeld, Xantia seems to be by far in the best shape, contributing to her feelings of guilt. All she has is some minor injuries. Well, on the outside. The worst of it was the thing that didn't cause a physical injury, thankfully no longer an issue by now. But she's not about to bring that up right now. Other things are more important at present.

She isn't too much reassured, all told, but Leon's insistance that this should do is enough to relieve total panic, at least. Breathing a sigh, she gives her head a light shake. She doesn't think it's fine. But it's not like she can do anhything about what happened, now.

She gives Fei a helpless, distressed look when he appears, really just wanting someone to make everything all better. But that's hardly a reasonable demand to make of anyone right now. Besides, he'll probably soon have another worry, as she casts her eyes over to the nearby shoreline. "...Elly? Is that Elly?"

Leaving that matter to him, she instead turns to Leon, carefully suggesting, "I could try something, but... I-I shouldn't, I could just make everything worse..."

<Pose Tracker> Fei Fong Wong has posed.

"Elly!" Fei says, comically trying to run while not spilling that food he got Elly. It's still hot, okay, and he paid money for it and Elly could probably use it okay. Also his burger is on there!

Fei has reassured Elly many times she didn't need to apologize which probably resulted in apologies for apologizing too much. After that, Fei kind of just let it happen.

He sets the tray near by and tries to help Elly get into a seated position. "We're really in no position to go gallavanting around town looking for one." Fei says, looking back over to Leon, then to Ida.

He blinks a few times. "...Uh." Pause. "Who?" God dammit. "Nevermind we'll punch him later. Uh..."

He looks to Xantia. She seems to be okay so he manages a relieved smile.

"But where are we going to find a simple country doctor here?" He wonders aloud, precariously. "Xantia, you seem healthiest here, maybe you could go find one?"

He hesitates as Xantia seems to have her own idea. "If it's risky... we probably have time to look for someone."

<Pose Tracker> Elhaym van Houten has posed.

Elly struggles in the blanket but when Fei comes closer she is eased. Not enough to stop shaking but enough to, well, stop freaking out. The crab scuttles.

"thank you," Elly says to Fei, before coughing.

And then, from atop a small rise in the shoreline landscape, someone answers the call.

"Well spotted, Fei," comes the voice of

                        DR. CITAN UZUKI
                                a simple country doctor

Citan leaps down from the overlook and immediately adjusts his glasses as he turns his attention around. "Five of you... I see. Xantia, please assist Fei in moving Leon and Elly well above the wave line. I have very little in the way of supplies, due to the nature of our translation, but we can at least form a safe state."

"Ms. Everstead-Rey is correct," Citan continues, setting down a leather satchel on a somewhat less exalted rock near where, presumably, he intends the corpses to be hauled. "However, the political ambitions of Rhadamanthus are not our immediate concern."

"Fei," Citan continues with a grave tone, "this may seem irrelevant, but it could have long term importance. You arrived with this tray of food, correct?"

<Pose Tracker> Ida Everstead-Rey has posed.

Leon is up and talking, which is a good sign. It means Ida and Fei and Xantia probably aren't going to have to carry him to safety, should it come to that. Ida nods once, her expression falling. "I couldn't retrieve your ARM," she says. "I'm sorry." She pauses a moment, remembering Lacour, and how Lady Harken cut her open. "I--know the feeling."

"Go help Fei with Elly," Ida says, offering Xantia a reassuring smile. "Leon has the right of it. There were healers there; all we have to do is find one, and..."

'Doc' makes his presence known. "Oh, thank goodness," Ida says.

<Pose Tracker> Leon Albus has posed.

"It's fine," Leon says to Xantia. "I think Ida's bandage should hold for the time being." The former soldier looks down, staring down at Elly. His eyes are a little wide. Two injured, he thinks, and one of them is him. His brow furrows, and he wonders, before--

"Kyaaah," he actually says, when Citan appears. He stares at Citan for a moment, and then he nods once to her. "Doctor Uzuki. Well, er--it's good to see you came, too."

He looks around.

"Does anyone know where we are?" he asks. "Is this Aquvy? But--hm, the architecture of the city feels off." For one, it is all monolithic stone construction; for another, he doesn't see a hint of ARM, of technology, or otherwise. (He cannot see the Blitzball stadium from here.)

<Pose Tracker> Xantia has posed.

Xantia, just wanting to be helpful in some way, does her best to follow people's instructions. When Ida tells her to help Fei, she nods, and moves to do so. Fei instead suggests to find a doctor, which she also doesn't argue with. As much as she'd prefer to stay, that's probably the most helpful thing she could do right now. With a nod, she turns... and pauses. Then she turns back around.

"Wait, where am I going? I have no idea where 'here' is." This didn't go well for her when she was last teleported into an unfamiliar area. So badly that even she's a little hesitant to just go off and see what happens.

Luckily, she is saved from having to make that call by a certain simple country doctor making a house call instead. "Ah, Citan!" Is she ever relieved to see him. He's so reliable, always seems to show up when needed most.

Having a new set of instructions to follow, she moves back to assist in moving Leon further up the shoreline, once again leaving Fei to take care of Elly, as she knows he will. "Everything's going to be all right now," she feels confident in saying.

On the matter of their location... Xantia pauses, to look around more carefully for the first time. All she can do is shake her head. "I don't know. I haven't been here before." She pauses, placing a hand on the choker around her neck, stating cryptically, "That's... probably for the best."

<Pose Tracker> Ida Everstead-Rey has posed.

"Rhadamanthus wouldn't translocate us into the heart of the territory he wished to claim," Ida says. She holds out her right arm for Leon to brace himself with. Metallic strands of extracellular matrix weave themselves across a gash torn in her forearm. "And this doesn't look like anywhere I've ever seen."

<Pose Tracker> Fei Fong Wong has posed.

"I." Fei says. "Have no idea where we are." But that's not really surprising Fei why are you bringing it up y'dork!

He lifts a spoonful of the soup towards Elly's lips when Doc makes his presence known.

"Huh? Doc? You're here too?"

So much for 'well spotted'.

He is asked about the food and the tray. "Um. Yes. I was holding onto it when we were transported over."

He turns back to Elly, rubbing her back for a moment. "Is that...okay? I'm more worried about Leon's wounds, and Elly--I'm not sure what's wrong but..."

Wait a minute.

"Leon..." He looks over to him. "Did...did you just 'kyaaah'?"

He smiles at Xantia quietly but seems a bit uncertain right now too.

"So rhada.... Rhadamanthus is also Vinsfeld." Fei says.

<Pose Tracker> Elhaym van Houten has posed.

"Forgive me, Leon," Citan addresses the wounded Black Wolf. "I had approached quietly as I was uncertain as to the identity of this group. I am extraordinarily pleased to find that it is all of you!"

"I have not had the opportunity to observe at some length, but I believe we are in the equatorial regions of Lunar," Citan continues. "When night falls, I will be able to confirm this, although with far less precision than would be possible on Filgaia."

Elly looks at Citan with some astonishment but seems to have little to contribute in this moment. Citan moves nearer, and answers Fei in several parts.

"Thank you, Fei. I wish to understand the scope of Rhadamanthus's use of Symbology. For now, you need not worry yourself further. Let me see her."

"Yes," Citan confirms as he crouches near Elly. "Rhadamanthus is his family name. As I am 'Citan Uzuki,' he is 'Vinsfeld Rhadamanthus.' Have you heard his other name in other contexts?" Then he leans in.

Elly seems relieved at trained medical attention. To herself she muses at the irony of this. Citan presses at her face, leans in to inspect the eye, and then undertakes a quick examination of her scalp.

"Elly, can you understand me?"
"Y-yes."
"Have you struck your head?"
"I d-don't thu-think so."
"Can you spell your father's name, backwards?"

This one is a struggle for Elly, but it seems to involve forming the words. "H-hah-haitch, C, I, a-Ar, E-- tha-that's it. Eh-Erich."

"I understand," Citan says. "The motor dystonia should fade over time. For now, try to rest."

His attention turns over towards Ida and Leon. For a moment, he seems wonder-struck at the motion of Ida's arm, which prompts him to push his glasses back up the bridge of his nose. "Are you able to breathe comfortably, Leon?"

<Pose Tracker> Leon Albus has posed.

"That's--"

Leon frowns. Ida has a fine point. He turns and looks up, peering straight into the air. He nods once at Fei -- not about the 'kyaaah,' which he is unwilling to admit to -- but the other question. "Vinsfeld Rhadamanthus," he confirms. "The leader of the Slayheim Liberation Army. I honestly thought he was dead. I suspect that would be preferable, now."

He looks at Citan, then; Leon hesitates a moment, before he looks up. He has to glance around -- actually, it takes a second to peer through the roofs and the large lip of the wall of the city -- but then he spots a sliver of blue and white in the sky.

"We are," he says. "Look, there's Filgaia. Is--" Leon looks towards Elly. "Is she all right? Er--yes, within reason. The whole thing is a good bit sore."

<Pose Tracker> Xantia has posed.

Lunar, Citan posits. Leon proceeds to confirm it. Xantia seems to be taking that news a lot better than she did last time. Back then, she freaked out about it, and couldn't understand why all their efforts weren't lightning-focused around finding a way to get back to Filgaia. But, things have changed, considerably. This time, she takes it entirely in stride. "...Not exactly the vacation I had planned. But I guess that's alright. I'm sure we'll find a way back at some point."

As Citan comes over to confirm Leon's condition, Xantia steps away. She looks from Ida, to Elly, and back to Leon. With the latter two not exactly in the best condition, this is probably not the best time for this, to put it mildly... but if recent events have taught her anything, it's to not wait with saying something important when you have the chance. Crazy things can and will happen. You never know when you'll get another chance. And so...

"...I never did apologize to any of you yet. For, you know... what happened in Dazil. What I tried to do to you all. So... I'm sorry. It doesn't feel enough to just say that, but, that's all I can do for now. I really am very, very sorry." She pauses, to look up at the sky. At Filgaia. "At least... I can't explain it very well, but as long as we're here, as long as I stay away from that area in Ignas, I don't think we have to worry about that happening again."

She lowers her gaze back down, her eyes briefly turning to Fei. He's already more aware of what's going on, but that doesn't mean he's not included in this. "If any of you want to know more about what happened, you can ask me anytime. For now, I'll just say... I'm going to make up for it. I promise. I didn't do a very good job this time, but... I'm going to keep fighting to keep everyone safe. ...If you'll let me."

<Pose Tracker> Ida Everstead-Rey has posed.

Ida looks up at that little crescent of silver and blue. She thinks back to her first trip to Lunar--awakening in a meadow full of wildflowers, seeing Filgaia high in the sky. It was at once breathtakingly beautiful and heartbreaking, and a touch of it returns to her. She lets out a soft choking noise, and rubs her eyes with her arm. "Lunar, then," she whispers. She sounds crestfallen, and for good reason. It wasn't even an hour ago that Vinsfeld Rhadamanthus was threatening to take over her home and murder her loved ones.

<Pose Tracker> Fei Fong Wong has posed.

Fei says, "Haven't really heard his name before at all." He was chasing after K.K not that jerk.

But he does wait to hear Citan's prognosis. He seems relieved when it sounds like it's a temporary problem and that Elly isn't going to have the shakes forever. Or, at least, not this badly. "Again," He mutters when it's confirmed they're on Lunar. At least this means Xantia's probably getting her vacation. She is apologizing again and Fei shakes his head.

"You've nothing to apologize for." He says. "But if that helps--then I'm glad it helps."

He turns his head towards Leon. "We were removing the wards against the Anomolous Orbs but the closer we got to removing its protections, uh, the stranger and more painful things got." Fei does not mention the Raftina thing. He's still processing that. "I don't know exactly what Elly saw." Vague flashes perhaps. "But it must have been really hard." His was, uh, more existenteially threatening.

"We stopped it at least." Fei concedes. "K.K and Ragnell might be...gone." Ragnell left her hat behind that clearly means she bit it and isn't just laying low to make a dramatic reveal later. That would be silly.

"Once Doc's finished looking Leon over," He tells Elly. "We'll get moving. Can you walk if I support you?"

Everybody needs rest, he thinks, even himself. Even Ida. Even Xan, he thinks, as he rethinks that apology in present context.

<Pose Tracker> Elhaym van Houten has posed.

"That is excellent," Citan tells Leon. At the question, he adjusts his glasses again. (This is not merely a tic. It is clear that the spectacles were badly bent at some point very recently.) "As for Elly, my gravest concern was cranial injury. Even with healing Ether abilities, trephanation is often necessary to relieve cranial pressure. As you can see, our facilities are very primitive, although the nearby settlement may offer opportunities. Yet, we cannot rely on that... It is not impossible that they will be hostile, and we will have to relocate quickly."

Elly confirms, "I-it was diff-fu-fucult, yes," to Fei, and then looks towards Xantia.

Citan's eyebrows raise. Elly looks at him. Citan seems to step back, if with concern on his face.

Elly looks back to Xantia.

"It's all ruh-right. L-let's talk about it luh-later, though? This is r, really - it's hu-hard to speak." She smiles then, with effort, but it's honest effort.

Citan speaks. "I do not think that would be a good idea, Fei."

He looks to Leon again, with a knowing sort of thin smile, then continues. "I will need to examine more closely, but I believe that Leon has a major fracture of the collarbone. And Elly should not be subjected to the possibility of a violent encounter at present."

He reaches into his pockets and brings out a cash purse, which he opens, checks, and nods once to.

"I will take responsibility for their protection at this site," Citan continues. "It is possible - indeed, probable - that other Drifters and involved individuals will arrive in the region soon. It will be best if we join forces, particularly if the residents of that city are unfriendly."

It is to Xantia that Citan entrusts something sacred. Something precious. It is one thing to pledge your life or your soul or your children to a cause. What Citan gives Xantia is something beyond that: His money.

* Xantia got 580G!

"Will they accept Filgaian currency, for the metal if not the face value?"

<Pose Tracker> Leon Albus has posed.

"We'll have to," Leon says to Xantia. He frowns. "But... this isn't like any cities I remember. Too damn warm. And too bloody humid, to boot..." Maybe it was another region? Maybe part of Meribius that he had never made it to. He rubs awkwardly at the side of his head.

Xantia is apologizing. Leon has one of those moments where he misses the first part of it; then, another, as he realizes that it's important. He looks down for a moment. Finally, he nods his head. "I'd like to know. So much happened... that it's been hard to keep it all straight, at times, it feels. But, if you need to stay away from there--then we can do that."

He swallows. "You're one of us, Xantia. You're always welcome with us. If we can help you, just ask."

He glances at Fei. His expression is carefully neutral; he thinks that K.K. and Ragnell being dead is for the best. He does not voice that, because it would be insensitive. "I'm glad you made it out. It sounds... hard. It looks like the world decided to start falling to pieces again."

As if it had ever stopped.

He looks at Elly for a moment, and his head tilts to the side -- and then makes a face. The doctor had it right in one. He sighs, and then he sits down on the ground, with a groan. His broken collarbone hurts; to say nothing, of course, of the immense gash under there. He rubs at his head, and then he looks up at him. "It's a fine idea."

Xantia is in for a surprise: gella is silver. Gil is gold.

<Pose Tracker> Ida Everstead-Rey has posed.

As the others talk about what to do next, and how to treat the injured, Ida takes a more pragmatic step: she unfastens her heavy cloak, folds it, and sets it on the ground. The plating of her gauntlet dissolves, slithering back into her flesh, leaving only a normal sleeve and human-looking hand. Once that's done, Ida strips off her armored jumpsuit and coat, and folds them as well as she can.

"If you need a stretcher," Ida says, to 'Doc', "You can use my cloak. It may be for the best; I don't want to risk her falling." It could just hurt her worse.

<Pose Tracker> Xantia has posed.

Xantia has a way of appearing like she has boundless energy. But Fei has the right of it, she too is extremely tired. If not physically - which by all right she should be - then certainly mentally. Just hopping from one confrontation into another... perhaps that's the other 10 percent of what made her do what she did. It keeps her mind off things. As long as you have one crisis or another to worry about, you can put everything else out of your mind for a bit.

But now that they're here, on Lunar, Xantia has abruptly lost these mental distractions. She can't even manage worry about how to get back home. In spite of how she carries herself, Fei already knows well just how worn down she is. She really does need that vacation, badly.

Not actually wishing to go into any further detail about it right now herself, she only nods at the initial reactions to her apologies. She lingers longer on Leon's words. Relief is clearly visible in her eyes - she was worried about his reaction most of all. After all, should he decide that she's too dangerous, he's capable of making the call to expel her from the Wolves. Even if she'd like to believe he never would... well, it's a lot harder to forgive herself for what she did than it seems to be for others. She considers herself very lucky in that respect.

"Thank you, I'll do that," she promises to make use of the offer of help should she need it, managing a faint smile. "I'm... happy, to be one of you."

As if to show that she's still trusted as much as before, she is then given... money? She looks pretty perplexed, accepting this but blinking blankly a number of times. "Is it... alright for me to take this? I mean, I'll carry it, but I'm not sure what I should buy with it..."

Or try to buy with it, anyway. She doesn't really see why that might be a problem. At least we're well past the time where Xantia would have taken any given amount of money and happily spend it all on food... though that temptation is not entirely gone. She is pretty hungry after everything that happened, as indicated by an ominous rumble of her stomach...

<Pose Tracker> Fei Fong Wong has posed.

"Huh?" Fei says.

Citan reasonably mentions that it's possible that if they take her in to get treated they might murder everybody or something. Can't be sure! Could be dangerous. Fei blinks a few times and once again wonders how he managed to live this long without someone like Doc around. "But if it's dangerous, wouldn't Xantia going alone--"

He imagines it. Yeah, she's probably going to be okay.

"I didn't think about the....money either..."

Fei's effective money has dropped to 0!

"...Shit." Fei says. He has a lot going on his plate right now, so his own expression regarding K.K and Ragnell dying isn't particularly conflicted or anything. Especially not after what's going on with Elly right now.

He turns to Leon, smiling at him as he accepts Xantia and he adds, "Yeah... I guess... vacation's over." Frown. "Drat."

He is going to pretend there really was a vacation because, to be fair, he did go on a joyous camping trip with Elly for a while so he did, in fact, have a vacation and for that time the world did, indeed, feel like it had stopped falling to pieces.

"Good idea, Ida." Fei thinks.

He focuses his attention once more on Xantia and adds, "We're happy to. Promise." He smiles again.

No words from the other guy?

No. He is silent. Almost gone, in fact.

Again.

<Pose Tracker> Elhaym van Houten has posed.

"Ah, thank you," Citan tells Ida. He begins to unbutton his own jacket. "Excellent idea. I do not believe it will be necessary for Elly, but it may have been for Leon." Citan has two things under his shirt:

A wrap around the pectoral muscles which may be a fashion or a comfort thing,

and a six pack.

"This weather is certainly a contrast to the Arctican climate, isn't it," he says, accepting the cloak. "For your questions, Xantia: I give it to you without hesitation. Money is merely a tool to fulfill our goals... we must never lose sight of that. For the moment, our goal must be survival. As for what to purchase, I will need tools for the setting of bone and bandaging wounds... I would give you pharmaceutical names but I suspect they would not translate, unless we are VERY fortunate, and this is indeed the region of Lunar to which you have already travelled."

"I do not intend to command your actions," Citan continues, "but it would be sensible for you to travel in a group. If for no other reason than to present an organized image. A single traveller might be taken as a wayfarer, while a small group could suggest a larger, organized force..."

<Pose Tracker> Leon Albus has posed.

"I'm afraid so," Leon says, a little regretfully to Fei. He sighs, and then closes his eyes. After all of that, he is hurt, sore, and exhausted. He nods to Xantia's thanks; he feels like he wants to pass out from all the pain and tension. Finally, though, he settles on what he always has to do.

His job.

"I'll stay put. We need to, once Elly can move, get a lay of the land--and find somewhere to stay. And the others," he says. "We'll need a base of operations. We've done this before, at least."

He opens an eye, though, and looks at Citan. "A fine idea, Doctor Uzuki. We'll stay as a group. It should be safer."

<Pose Tracker> Ida Everstead-Rey has posed.

Underneath all that clothing and armor, Ida is wearing a pair of normal old slacks and a sleeveless shirt. It's positively scandalous for one of her station. "I'd appreciate it back, once we're done," Ida says. "But for now, it's needed elsewhere. She turns to Leon, and frowns. "And how did you manage to find one the last time this happened?" They couldn't have just walked into an abandoned building in Vane and taken it over, right?

        Actually that sounds very plausible.

<Pose Tracker> Xantia has posed.

Xantia gives Fei a confused look when he says vacation's over. It's not even begun yet! At least not from her perspective. Not that she's an expert on these things.

She's also not an expert on shopping - that is, unless you give her an itemized list of exactly what to buy. She thus doesn't look to confident about being entrusted with that responsibility. It's not until the matter of 'traveling in a group' comes into play that she looks happier about this.

"Oh! Yeah, that would be sensible!" Quick to agree, more so for the reason that she didn't want to be by herself in this new place anyway than anything else. She's not worried about any danger, but she's definitely worried about getting lost. Whether in losing the way, or in being unable to figure out what's important to look for in acquiring quality merchandise.

She does have the confidence in making one promise: "Then, until we're ready to go... if there's any trouble, just leave it to me. I won't let anything or anyone that looks even a little dangerous come near!"

Presumably, that doesn't doesn't include Lily.

<Pose Tracker> Fei Fong Wong has posed.

Fei at this point kind of nods numbly to Citan's words. Look, this is honestly what his state was before he met all of you. He seems to have eased back into this role now that he doesn't really want to think too hard. It makes him think of other things. He's happy to just let some super genius dude figure things out for a bit.

"Alright." He says to Leon. "I don't want to leave her right now, but... I'll make sure to handle any trouble htat creeps up on us."

He laughs awkwardly at Xantia. "Oh uh. I meant...."

He decides to not try to explain this.
