An eternally optimistic wandering ARMs Meister, Chime was raised by ARMs Meister who themselves were Drifters before settling down. Following in the footsteps of her parents, Chime wanders Filgaia to make her own stories, and live her life to its fullest that someday she can tell others, or her own child, her stories.

Background

Chime has spent almost half her life wandering, and half of that with a set group that has since vanished save her after an exploration of a vanished ruin. She's made a minor name for herself as an experienced ARMs Meister despite physical appearances, and can generally be found and willing to take work others won't for whatever reasons.

Powers

Cheer: Chime can probably make the dead smile. Or try and smite her to shut her up. She oozes goodwill, happiness, and hope.

Gunsmith: Chime can make, repair, and sometimes upgrade any gunpowder weapon she encounters. She might need someone to forge her items, but she can provide detailed instruction and pictures to assist. For actual non-gunpowder ARMs, she can repair most any given a day or two, and some she might even be able to upgrade(By repairing something usually).

I'm not a child!: At four and half feet tall, Chime looks like a child at first glance that has some growing up to do. She's more than happy to take advantage of this if it'll prove fun, and she often takes advantage of her size in ruins and combat.(HITBOX HAX)

Tools: Chime keeps two sets of tools on her. In her vest is an impressive number of low quality tools that are excellent for a use here and there to get things done in a hurry sometimes. In her toolbox is a complete set of pristine, well tended to ARMs tools that she uses for her actual work along with other items like gunpowder, explosives, and her gella. The box has a clever locking mechanism that helps make it water tight.

Crossbows: Chime owns a pair of unique looking ARMs, handheld crossbows. The body of both is wood, with metal bow arms and a metallic crossbow string. A small metal guard extends off the tip of both, and where the bolt sits is a magazine like well containing up to five additional bolts under the currently loaded bolt. Chime's boots are specially designed to let her holster the weapons on them, and arm the weapons on drawing.

Storyteller: Stories make the world turn. They inspire. They scare. The teach. Chime isn't a walking library, but it's not for lack of trying as she maintains multiple journals worth of tales and loves to recite them.

Equipment

Crossbows: Chime owns a pair of excavated ARMs that she she hasn't named, or learned the name of. They're a pair of handheld crossbows that are capable of holding multiple bolts like a gun, and with a little focus she can change the nature of the bolts between a few different forms.

Leather Vest of Pockets: Literally. ALL THE POCKETS. Don't be too surprised by some of the things she'll pull out of it. Also doubles as a bell for keeping track of the small elf due to the number of loose metallic items inside.

Path Maker: ARMs Meisters work with gunpowder. Did you really think they wouldn't know the value of a good bomb? Chime uses hers to force open paths or remove obstacles in her delves.

Book of Cure-Alls: Feeling tired? Sick? Injured? Chime has cures from so many places! Some of them may be a little weird... Some may just be for her own amusement. Results will vary, but inevitable she has something on anything to help relieve issues in the middle of a delve.

Little Cucco Adventures
Litte Cucco loved mornings. Morning meant breakfast! Delicious seeds, juicy bugs, whatever was to be found within the coop delivered each morning just for the Cuccos.

But this morning something different happened. Something strange. Breakfast did not come. The sun rosy merrily, the wind singed cheerfully, the grass beyond danced and swayed while horses neighed and chewed. But breakfast did not come.

The older Cuccos said to wait, it would come. Why would it not, for it always had. But Little Cucco did not believe. Something bad must be happening! So Little Cucco strove to learn. But first it would need to leave, and no Cucco had left the coop on their own before. Where to begin wondered the Little Cucco.

As it surveyed the coop in the morning sun, it saw against the house they nested in a slanted board. And near the end of that board, a long jump onto the roof. The bigger cucco's couldn't walk up the plank, they would dislodge it. But maybe Little Cucco could?

Bravely the Little Cucco set forth, hopping up the plank. Each movement made it shake which made Little Cucco freeze. Each step it summoned forth yet more courage to continue. The Bigger Cucco's clucked and hawed, telling Little Cucco it would hurt itself, that it should just wait patiently. Breakfast will come they told it, no need to risk harm.

With fear in it's heart, but the courage to push forth Little Cucco made it to the top of the plank but now had to make the last jump. The biggest jump. If it failed, it would crash, if it succeeded it would be able to hop down out of the coop. And so Little Cucco braced, and jumped! The plank shifted and crahed! The Big Cucco's clucked and hawed and scurried! And upon the top of the cucco coop stood Little Cucco, triump in overcoming it's fear and successful in it's jump!

And from atop the coop, Little Cucco could see so far. It could see the horse in the field eating grass for breakfast. It could see the big box coops the breakfast bringers nested in. It could see the large box coops that breakfast was nested in. And so Little Cucco, ignoring the rest of the cuccos, hopped down from the coop gliding forth to find breakfast!

Following it's nose, Little Cucco made it's way to the big boxy coop breakfast rested in, and found inside the coop bags and bags of seeds! And insects scurried and crawled about the area. It was a breakfast paradise, the reward of an adventure well done! While the others waited still for breakfast, Little Cucco ate it's fill. And then it thought...

What else is there in this world beyond the confines of it's coop?

Cleansing Grounds
Few are the places in the world that get called Sacred. Most of these places tend to be little more than just a place of importance to the nearby people. All of them through, can end up the opposite end of the spectrum all to easily. The Sacred Grounds of Linga suffered such an incident.

Over the course of months the grounds went from a place of exploration and study to infested with monsters normally unseen there and oozing a malevolent air that threaten to suffocate those that explored to find the reason behind this shift. Brave drifters worked together, by purpose or convience, to re-explore the Grounds and over weeks found four items that spewed for the malevolent atmosphere that was corrupting the Grounds.

The first such item found, when attempting to cleanse it revealed that all the items were tied to together. Despite the brace efforts, and near success, of two tried their best with help from their Guardians and Spirits the item was restored to all its terribly terrorific glory by the remaining items. And so further explorations started, locating the remaining items. And when the last was found, the air changed.

Time went for excessive supplies to none left, and the call went forth to gather up as many of the Drifters that had been helping to oversee the destruction of the Malovolent items found. And a group did so answer, mostly composed of Shamans with the ability to help cleanse and purify. Among the group some friends of their who came to provide whatever assistance they could.

As the items came together for the first time since discovery of each, the aura of malovence seemed to explode outward from them. The overbearing malevolence formed together into a creature of despair made of but mist and evil it seemed. It bore down upon the group of would-be saviors intent on consuming them to increase it's own power.

The Drifters were assaulted with how futile their task must be, how difficult it would be, and how much easier it should be to just give in. To give up. But the Shamans would not give in, calling upon the Guardians and their unrelenting spirits to push back the initial attacks upon them and begin to work to weaken the creature formed by the items.

Despite surviving the initial attack, things looked bleak for those seeking to cleanse the malevolent entity as it bore down from around them without actual form. Pressing them to give in to death, to become yet more power for it to spread in their failure. It's advantage at first seemed overwhelming as it kept pressing upon them.

But Drifters, especially those that follow the faiths of the world, are often the last to ever give in to despair but instead climb higher still spreading their wings wide to make what seems impossible a reality. In a flurry of exchanges with the horrific creature, the Shamans called upon their granted gifts and with pure elements and cleansing pure cleaved through the malevolence around them with explosive results as some of the items powering it exploded into ash their profane power gone.

Quickly the tides turned, from despair and death to life and hope. With a chunk of the power of the malevolence gone in the cleansing fury of the gathered drifters, the entities power waned quickly. It attempted to strike down the most powerful of the shamans gathered before it, but the friends that had come along stood together to hold off it's attacks as the rest of the items were cleansed one at a time.

When the last was cleansed, the gone to dust and ash in the wind, the prevailing malevolence across the Sacred Grounds of Linga faded away. The terrible creature that had been feeding off this pulled what it could to itself, launching one last desperate attack only to be met with greater power from the combined might of the Drifters extinguishing it's form, it's power and scattering the last of the terrible evil that had gripped the GRounds.

Through it'll take time, the Grounds would no longer be profane and attract dangerous monsters, returned back to the state they had been. Of course, this isn't the end of this tale now is it? After all, where did the items that formed this creature of malevolence come from?

Wedding Cluckles
Hey, did you ever hear the tal eof the Sweet Candy Wedding? No? Well, you're in for a treat then! This wedding takes place on the one and only Sweet Candy, a boat of some minor fame owned by Captain Bartholomew. While docked in Port Timney, a couple approached him about a wedding at sea or at least at dock. The young mister 'Cless al'Vane' and young miss 'Mint Bandenade'.

Now, Captain Bartholomew is a good man so of course he agreed. I'm sure it's his quartermaster that decided to advertise this wedding also to make a few gella off the ceremony at that. What was no doubt meant to be a small affair kept as private as possible ended up a grand event with so many attending. And what an event it was.

As the bride and groom stood forther for the start of the ceremony, their best friend stood to speak his encouragement of the wedding. The bride blushed so fiercely at the kind words from their friend, and for certain the groom apperciated them too if he hadn't been distracted by a slug the size of a man crawling onto the bow of the ship only to be squashed by a swordsman in a tuxedo falling from the sky declaring he'd been inform cake was about.

Despite these two interruptions the wedding progressed! About another thirty seconds. For then out of the sky came a ball, maybe five or so meters in diameter? With wings. A pair ontop. As this ball crashed into the ship it landed surprisingly light for it's size. Perhaps painting things bright colors helps reduce their weight, but really it's more to do with the cargo I suppose. The two immediately protested the wedding! Claiming the bridge and groom had courted for but only a week, and it was to soon to be getting married even as others protested they'd known each other for over a year!

As this argument started, the groom picked up his bride and jumped from the bow into the sails to get away from the commotion even as they told Bartholomew to continue the wedding. The audience cheered, most were stunned, some surprised, some laughing uproariously. At least till the two protestor unleashed their plans to interrupt the wedding in totality. From within their sphere they had stored a devious attack. They unleashed upon the wedding a horde of Cuccos.

So the wedding descended into chaos. Cucco's and the tux wearing swordsman ate cake, most of the crowd fought cuccos, some of the crowd drank in laughter. The bride was dropped and caught by a friend, the groom engaged in a fist fight with the one that protested the wedding, the good Captain continued the ceremony.

As the cucco's raged, the groom escaped his fight, the bride returned to the bow followed by her groom, and the ceremony moved into it's climax! With both bride and groom before the good Captain, he asked the groom to complete the cermony by Reciting the name of the Sea Guardian. And when done correctly in spite of all that was happening, the Sea Guardian herself blessed the union through the medium present on the Sweet Candy.
