Ebony Wings

The Ebony Wings has its origin as a unit of Tainted Metal Demons led by Riesenlied; however, as of the attack on the Fairgrounds, Riesenlied herself has formally expressed her intentions of branching the unit out as an inter-factional alliance of those that have an interest in upholding the Treaty of Iscariot, a 500-year old treaty written at the first Filgaian summit that bars the use of devastating weapons of mass destruction. The Ebony Wings seeks to intervene against acts that violate the Treaty, particularly in the form of misusing ancient artifacts of the past to provoke acts of war.

(OOC Statement: The Ebony Wings is meant as an inter-factional alliance that helps to separate Metal Demons, Veruni and other characters who have a lighter shade of grey to the Ignasian geopolitical conflict, and interacts with a number of the upcoming plots in contrast to the more violent and ruthless versions of the villain factions. It is meant to serve as a launching pad of activity for those who are interested in murkier alliances and unlikely bedfellows, as well as those who enjoy a bit more nuance and politics to their villainy.)

Mission Statement

"We of the Ebony Wings can only see the political situation of Ignas escalating towards an ever more horrifying form of war that very Treaty was written to prevent. More and more artifacts are dug up daily from Ruins and weapons caches discovered around the continent. A majority of these artifacts are in fact the remnants of our ancestors and their enemies: The fossils of Dragons that many have shaped into Gear parts, the ARMs crafted from Metal Demon remnants. Their very enemies are the Golems displayed in Adlehyde's Cultural Exhibition are no less overwhelming and excessive in destructive power.

Their inclusion in war would only make the mutual destruction of all countries in Filgaia a foregone conclusion.

The Ebony Wings have chosen to make a stand for this reason.

Territory, religion, artifacts, no matter what the reason or excuse: if there is ever an evident act of abuse of these artifacts being carried out, we will commence intervention with our forces. Those that promote and accelerate the means and acts of war shall also be valid targets for our intervention."

Hideouts

The Ebony Wings used to operate out of Old Petra, a Tainted village that also doubled as a Metal Demon base, but this hideout was decimated at the end of a climactic attack by Id and the Crimson Gear. Currently, the Ebony Wings are creating future strongholds in the Badlands both to create a home for the Tainted and to also better carry out their mission to end war through eliminating ancient artifacts.
