Background
Rixia is fresh from the Meribian village of Sagahli, a backwater place almost no one has heard of. Squirrelled away in the far northern reaches at the icy border of Mt. Zulan away from major trade routes, Sagahli is a place where people only go to disappear... which is exactly what her adoptive father Alwaid Ronso did three years ago on news of the Guard's invasion of Spira. Fueled by a desire to find him but lacking the power to do so, chance intervenes when a mysterious craft falls in the back yards of Sagahli. The craft hosts a strange woman in a space suit who fools Rixia into believing she has been chosen by the "Goddess of Stars," bestowing on her a dangerous artefact in exchange for her silence. With fresh power founded on lies, life-shattering anxiety that she masks with fragile haughtiness and pride, and a ruinous compulsion to never be left alone again, Rixia joins the Althenan Guard in a fool's attempt to discover where her father has gone.
Powers and Abilities
Rixia is a perfectly ordinary beastfolk girl with no combat training and only basic magic training... until she uses the Sleeping Lion's Junction capabilities, which enhances her body's capability beyond that of an ordinary human being. Calibrated to enhance physical capabilities, it grants her the strength, agility and endurance to match that of even a seasoned Drifter, with a basic set of "pre-programmed" moves in order to compensate for her lack of skill.
Outside of the Sleeping Lion, Rixia possesses the Blessing of Althena in the form of Light Black Magic. She currently has basic training in this, able to manipulate basic spells in what her once-teacher Rui calls "Time Magic"; this largely manifests in adjusting the perceptions of time, whether slower or faster, and doesn't have anything to do with any actual manipulation of time, no matter how much Rixia wishes time would wait... or return her to a happier time.
