The Guado people of Spira, reclusive stewards of the Farplane - Spira's afterlife - started to take more active roles in Spiran society when the late Jyascal Guado introduced the ways of Yevon to his people nearly thirty years ago. Few among the Guado have been more inclined to exploit this than Gon Guado. Owing to his years where he used to escort Summoners as a Guardian, Gon is one of the more well-traveled of his kind, keen to spread the cultural influence of the Guado for reasons blatantly self-serving and exploitative to anyone looking from the outside in. Possessed of the stereotypical haughtiness of his people, his presentation as a kindly, accommodating, patient sort is paper thin to anyone not indoctrinated in Yevon's ways (and even to some that are). It is only the recent influx of 'Otherworlders' that have started to create difficulties in maintaining this, and has always been a vocal opponent of their intervention in Spira's affairs. It is only recently that he has started to show ever more open hostility to their presence. Though aging into his late forties, Gon has retained much of his martial skill. He combines the use of his people's traditional metal claw weapons alongside the White Magic 'prayers,' refined form the elements of ice and fire, in which to provide support to allies. The combination of these fighting talents allows himself to shift between tranquil calm and relentless fury seamlessly.
