Code Tools

From Dream Chasers

There are a number of on-MUSH tools that make life better or are for fun (but facilitate RP) on Dream Chasers. We have them documented on this page.

Timezone

+timezone <timezone> will set your time zone! This will allow you to have an automatic display in +scene/view of what the scene's time is in your timezone! It fails if your timezone is invalid.

If you want it to automatically take into account your Daylight Savings, we recommend using the following formats:

America/New_York
Canada/Central
Pacific/Auckland
Australia/Sydney

And so on. There's a very long list of timezones starting in help timezones2 (check this on the MUSH as it is indeed very long!).

Pokebox

+pokebox is a command and command set that allows you to set Pokemon and basic information on same for your character! It uses the following commands:

  • +pokebox/add <Name>
  • +pokebox/longadd <Name>=<Nickname>/<Type>/<Description>
  • +pokebox/sort <Name/Nickname/Type/Added>
  • +pokebox <Player>
  • +pokebox/nick <slotno>=<nickname>
  • +pokebox/type <slotno>=<Type>
  • +pokebox/desc <slotno>=<Description>
  • +pokebox/remove <slotno>

For example: +pokebox/longadd Charizard=Charrie/Fire-Flying/He's angry.

Note that type should always be a - separated list of types, or, if a single type, just that type. So 'Fire' or 'Fire-Flying' but never 'Fire/flying'.

+pokebox/add adds just the Pokemon's name--it uses the name as a nickname, Type Unknown, and desc 'A Pokemon!'

Specialties

Players can set their Specialties ala Star Ocean 2! This is accomplished with +specialties/assign <specialty>=<Value>, and we recognize the following specialties: alchemy, appraising, art, compounding, cooking, crafting, customization, familiar, fishing, machinist, music, oracle, pickpocketing, replication, scouting, survival, train, and writing.

You can use +specialties or +specialties <name> to view someone else's. Note that in order to start using the system, or to clear your specialties, use +specialties/initialize CONFIRM.

Your skill points will be equal to your total CP/4, or 75 for characters with 300 SP, which should be everyone right now. Your SP total will automatically update every time you assign new points.
