Velvet Crowe, the first Lord of Calamity. A thousand years ago, she waged a war of vengeance against the Shepherd Artorius. In time, that lust for revenge became something more, and the hatred and despair in Velvet over the loss of her brother transformed into the resolve to protect those she had come to care for and seek retribution for herself. Though her name has been cleared from the books of history, Velvet chose to sacrifice herself for the sake of the people she cared for, locking herself into an endless ouroboros with the Empyrean Innominat. If you think this makes Velvet some type of selfless hero, it'd be best to think again: unrepentant about her nature as a Hellion, Velvet wears her title as Lord of Calamity with pride and has a more-than-mild tendency towards the old ultraviolence, yet she also cares far more than she lets on. Curt with those she does not know and protective - to sometimes doting degrees - of those she does, Velvet feigns ambivalence to the world around her while harboring a sharp, analytical mind that sees much more than she lets on. She'll threaten to devour you in one sentence, and offer you tips on good housekeeping in the next, and if that sounds like a contradiction, then that's good -- she wouldn't be much of a Lord of Calamity without them. Displaced and awoken from a thousand year slumber, it's an open question what meaning Velvet Crowe will find in this new world where so much has changed... but rest assured, Velvet remains Velvet to her core. And she'll still murder anyone who tells her to act like a dove.

Powers and Abilities
Velvet is the last known Therion. While functionally the same as a Hellion in the broad strokes, a Therion is actually an aspect of the Empyrean Innominat, one of its eight "heads" dedicated towards consuming Malevolence. Due to this, Velvet is able to devour Malevolence with her left, Therionized arm, but her ability to devour is not just limited to Malevolent energies: most all spiritual or magical energies can be eaten and digested by Velvet, up to and including the souls of others.
In theory, Velvet can "purify" others by eating their Malevolence. In practice, the process usually means the person being "devoured" will die.
Velvet houses Brunhilt, the Sorcerer's Ring inside of her, an artifact containing a prototype formula for Armatization. Combined with her Therion abilities, Velvet is able to enter a brute-forced, one-sided Armatization by consuming the spiritual essence and properties of others known as a Therion State. Velvet takes on the attributes of those she consumes in this state, becoming stronger while sacrificing the capacity to heal save through her Therion limb.
Any person who dies to Velvet has their soul absorbed into her. She can actively manipulate these souls to various ends, but they can also appear in her dreams and speak with her. This is not... great... for her mental health, usually.
Velvet's fighting style is highly unorthodox and ruthlessly practical; she has zero use for honor and fair play on the battlefield, and she'll take whatever advantage she can get, however underhanded. She fights with kicks, punches, with her claws, with her head, with the blades hidden in her boot and gauntlet -- whatever she needs. Technically, this is an extrapolation of Artorius Colbrande's martial style, but she really puts her own, ferocious spin on it.
