|Profile=The eldest daughter of the Schrodinger family of old adventurin' fame, Maya is an experienced Drifter who seems unafraid to confront the world's ills head-on. She is confident, kind, and brave. She believes that the freedom of Drifters and the people in orbit around them is sacred, and while she claims she will gladly put her family's interests before those of temporary allies... her conscience seems to weigh heavy on her as of late, as new wars and strange magics ripple through Filgaia. She most often wields a variety of powerful ARMs, but Maya has also been seen using powerful sorcery in combat as well. Rumors swirl as to her true nature, and she herself doesn't pretend to know what that is anymore. Regardless, Maya has earned a reputation as a skilled Drifter and brave fool.

She is confident, kind, and brave, believing that the freedom and safety of the world's vulnerable is sacred. While she *claims* that she will gladly put her family's interests before those of temporary allies... this doesn't seem to be the case at all, as new wars and strange magics ripple through Filgaia and her once-selfish behaviours feel ever more foolish as the kindness of strangers pulls her back from the brink, time and time again. Maya's talents seem many and varied: she wields a strange and explosive brand of sorcery by times, and a variety of powerful ARMs by others. Yet, the more the cavalier young woman learns about her odd abilities and their origin, the less comfortable she feels bringing such powers to bear. Despite searching so fervently for an answer to the strange memories bubbling to the surface of her soul, she hesitates--after all, what if the answer is buried so deeply for a reason...?

|Background=Disgruntled bandits and jealous detractors of all types would have you believe that the eldest daughter of the Schrodinger line has an undeserved reputation and is sponging off of the family's past glories, silver spoon in her mouth. The especially stupid ones put it to a challenge, figuring the girl for an easy mark and an easy boost for their personal brand. Enough of these challenges have gone south for the opposing party that it's reasonable for just about any Filgaian native in the Aveh or Adlehyde regions to have caught wind of a tale or two about the sunshine-coloured gunslinger and her exploits. Think of an eclectic mix of Zorro, Indiana Jones, and The Terminator and you have the general confusing tone of the stories.
|Background=A well-to-do lady from the upper crust of Bledavik, young Maya is the eldest surviving child of renowned explorer and sorcerer Gladwin Schrodinger, whose own achievements and fortunes were achieved in large part due to the tireless work of family retainer and Arctican historian Todd Dukakis. Despite her lively disposition in the present day, as a young child Maya was a reclusive bookworm who seldom set foot outside the family manor and was doted on excessively due to her weak constitution and social anxiety. This no longer appeared to be an option after the disappearance of her father, which either hardened her resolve or otherwise lit a fire under her ass to go out there and make a name for herself.

There's not a whole lot of publicly available information on Maya's early days. It doesn't look like there's any kind of shady cover-up at play, her reputation rose up out of nowhere after her father, a much more notorious explorer and sorcerer, was presumed to have died. The truth of it; in case someone has to know at some point from reading this page, is that her father up and vanished like most good RPG fathers do. Maya was an unheard-of quantity before his disappearance, a recluse behind the walls of the family home. She has been thrust into the spotlight by way of necessity, and wanders in search of answers and glory alike: if she can't figure out why her old man had to vanish, she'll at least carry on his tradition like she ought to. But she may have missed the point of his travels, in her search for glory.
Some lingering mysteries remain. Maya remains uncertain why she can manifest the skills, strengths, and artifacts of fictional characters she reads about, an ability which seems to defy logical thought. Why only her brother appears in the earliest photos with her parents, or her father's written records. Sprinkle some uncovered memories of strange, distant laboratories into the mix and Maya is beginning to suspect that she might be a little strange.

Maya seems to have recuperated pretty well from some kind of bizarre mental side-effect suffered from Riesenlied's less-than-lethal pacification weapon used in the battle of Adlehyde. She has no idea what all of those weird memories of cold metal cots and forced injections are about, but the warmth and love of her friends (and the realization that she is not without worth as a person, even without her Personas™) has helped her put it aside for now and return to being the noisy, sassy gunslinger everyone knows and loves. The Schrodinger family is enjoying a pit-stop in Lacour, on their way back to Bledavik to regroup and maybe start looking for answers. Maya has been busying herself being the breadwinner for the rest of the gang, who are hard at work investigating the information and relics she brings back on the occasions they aren't pulling her bacon out of the fire. Cunning foes can probably tell she's been hanging around the Vile Fiends, too, trying to figure out more about where the heck they actually come from. But the blonde Drifter's focus on treasure and trophies is beginning to take a backseat in light of all the thunderous happenings going-on around her. Now her friend Virginia has been turned into a Hellion, Vash the Stampede is rumored to have returned, and creatures of living metal have brought war and ruin renewed to the peaceful city of Adlehyde.

The eldest daughter of the Schrodinger family of old adventuring fame, Maya is an experienced Drifter who seems unafraid to confront the world's ills head-on.

Background

Powers and Abilities

???: Completely unknown to anyone outside of the Schrodinger squad or ancient villains running the show, Maya can change forms to access different abilities and powers. How this works is a mystery, even to her, but she has been making very effective use of it for some time now. So far, she has been extremely disciplined about tipping her hand on it, but it can't stay a secret forever now that the MUSH has started.

ARMs and gunplay: Maya is a crack shot with a variety of firearms and has been seen effectively putting bullets into beasts and bad guys alike from atop horseback, on the run, leaping from a moving train, and occasionally also shooting while holding still and aiming carefully. She is known to possess a long-barreled 'anti-armor' pistol (Vantage Rage MM), a shotgun with two barrels (HS-07 Chevallier), and--perhaps most quizzically--a six-barreled rotary machine gun approx. 32 inches long and weighing approx. 39kg (AW-RSTN87 Heavy Cannon) and a man-portable missile launcher (MPGD-14 Recoilless Rifle). On more than one occasion, she has been seen summoning these weapons to hand from thin air, and not in a comical and wacky fashion, either.

Sorcerous Nonsense: Maya has a sorcery-capable transformation in her toolbox, whose magic is about as subtle as a thermobaric weapon. Her spells are bombastic and neon-coloured, explosive and usually require catchy chants and spell-name shouting. She has no visible symbology tattoo or crest graphs in this form, which may have very bad ramifications further on down the line. What she lacks in subtlety, she makes up for in pure effective power, capable of punishment and protection in equal measure. Not to be taken lightly.
