SCENE LOG:
LOCATION: Sacred Grounds of Linga
PARTICIPANTS: Cap. Yugh, Morgan Newkirk, Jude Moshe, Stork Blugaze
RELICS RECOVERED: Paper in an unknown script
PRE-EXPLORATION SUMMARY: Initiated an expedition into Sacred Grounds of Linga with a retinue of diggers.
EXPLORATION SUMMARY: Involved Drifters included:
  • NEWKIRK, as noted in previous reports.
  • JUDE MOSHE, a mercenary equipped with a robotic automaton he stated to have acquired in Guild Galad.
  • STORK BLUEGAZE, a baskar tribesman of indeterminate age, accompanied by an unusually large (and aggressive) flightless bird.

Similar to the previous expedition documented by Lieutenant Van Houten, no signs of excavation or activity by the Adlehyde government were noted at the site. Rather, we encountered a series of challenges both physical and design in nature. NEWKIRK maintained a consistent story for the source of his equipment when questioned, while MOSHE frequently undertook actions that could lead to friendly fire. BLUEGAZE claimed his bird was a ritual familiar, but seemed to possess only the loosest semblance of control over it (the creature itself seems very unlike a spiritual entity)

However, at the center of ruins we discovered an artifact of potential interest: a paper written in unknown script. I claimed the object for the purposes of the expedition without contest from the drifters, provided they were paid, and took an initial sample of the script to scholars at Linga. They confirm the language is pre-collapse, but it is encrypted and quite possibly military in nature.

RECOMMENDED ACTION: The original document has been submitted to our in-house linguist team for further analysis.
