  • Summary: Alisha finds Cecilia, after her match with Garan. There is much to discuss. And, apparently, eat.

<Pose Tracker> Cecilia Adlehyde has posed.

Cecilia Adlehyde was declared missing by the King of Lacour, who may or...may not have just been misinformed since someone claiming to be her showed up to an exhibition match a while ago? What could she be doing?! What secrets could she be plundering from the bones of the earth!?

Cecilia is currently at an open-air picnic table outside a restauarant. There are three plates in front of her. One is empty. Two others have full meals built around especially the especially large legs of some wasteland beast.

Cecilia is currently in the process of annihilating the second leg like it had offended the crown.

<Pose Tracker> Alisha Diphda has posed.

Alisha tried to keep up with news about the princess of Adlehyde... but her fellow princess is a little elusive, if by strange happenstance. The princess of Hyland, conversely, has been recovering since her loss yesterday to Garan. Healing magic did most of it, but she looks and feels exhausted still, and she has a match soon -- to knock her out of the tournament if she fails.

No pressure.

She is coming to the restaurant in search of food, for her own prodigious -- but not astounding -- appetite. She stops, though, as she spots a familiar (but shorter) head of blonde hair. And then her eyes widen, and she hurries over to the other princess.

"Princess Cecilia!" she declares, though she keeps her voice quiet enough to not draw every eye.

<Pose Tracker> Cecilia Adlehyde has posed.

Cecilia is gnawing on the tip like a dog. Then, she hears a familiar voice!! And looks up, without removing the bone, a look of bewilderment and alarm. oh no did one of the palace maids find her. OH NO IS SHE GOING TO BE JUDGED AGAIN BY THAT LITTLE SNOT-NOSE FROM THE CAPITAL OF FUCKIN' NOWHERE--

Oh, no it's Alisha, who could probably technically be described that way but not by Cecilia. She has to tug lightly on the bone to dislodge it from her teeth. "P...rincess Diphda," Cecilia says, struggling for a moment to remember the right tone to strike. Right. Moon princess. Grudgingly accepting. OK, we're there. "Fancy meeting you here! How....are you?" she wonders, conversationally.

<Pose Tracker> Alisha Diphda has posed.

Alisha stares, for a moment, at Cecilia's feast. She had expected someone struck by grief, deep in mourning. Perhaps someone focused in purpose. Alisha sees, instead, something moderately frightening. Her mouth hangs open as she has to tug on the bone that way.

"Ah... hello!" she says. "Yes, yes, I was--um. I'd... wondered about you, after everything. Are you--" A moment passes, and she tilts her head to the side. "...You must be hungry!" she concludes. And then, she recovers a little, to say: "I'm well enough. Sore, after yesterday's match."

<Pose Tracker> Cecilia Adlehyde has posed.

It's a certain kind of focus, perhaps.

Cecilia sets the plate down and smiles somewhat plasticly at Alisha dithering about how to reply, some internal, displeased monologue playing out behind her eyes. But she still manages a slight titter at her exclamation. "Oh, yes, it seems the road does leave me with a bit of an appetite. That's known to happen with Crest Sorcerors."

She does not, to her credit, dive back in to annihilating the field while Alisha's still right there. Watching her. Judging her. "Ah, yes, you're still in the running! How wonderful. You've been fighting hard, then. It's...good." She smiles, and it slowly melts to a less flat one, though maybe more strained in exchange. "People could use the distraction, I think, after....before."

<Pose Tracker> Alisha Diphda has posed.

"It does, doesn't it?" Alisha asks, with a tilt of her head. "I remember that you mentioned, before, about your form of magic. I still have trouble imagining--ah, but I suppose magical energy must come from somewhere." If not the Goddess, then why not food? Humans certainly draw energy from food.

"I have been," she says, with a smile. It turns sad in short order. "...Mm. Yes. I am sorry about that. I... could only imagine what I would feel, if it were Hyland." It almost has been, before. She doesn't dare voice that. It would be inappropriate. "I--ah. You are traveling, then, to oppose the Demons?"

She can guess -- it's what she would do, if their kingdoms were reversed.

<Pose Tracker> Cecilia Adlehyde has posed.

"It's a little more complicated than that, but, yes, something along those lines. The Leylines of Filgaia...the power of the world itself, fuels a lot of Crest Sorcery's power." Cecilia now dares to pick her leg up again, feeling less like she's suddenly back at the castle being quietly weighed for her every thought and deed. "But this helps!" she chimes. CHOMP.

She does slow, though, as conversation turns to Adlehyde, and her eyes cut to the side. For her kingdom...? Yes, of course. But still. "They have the Teardrop," she says, quietly. "I must get it back. So, yes." She straightens a bit, smiling again with that more thin, focused look.

<Pose Tracker> Alisha Diphda has posed.

"Well... I suppose it usually is. Despite how some phrase it, our magic is more complicated than the Goddess Althena's Blessing." Alisha shakes her head once. It doesn't recharge due to food. She hesitates a moment, though, and then looks to the side. She considers, before she looks back at Cecilia, then nods. "Mm. Yes. I understand," she says. "Had you traveled much before?"

Despite the topic veering close to Adlehyde, she doesn't want to linger there. It seems unkind. She hesitates a moment, before she adds: "Would you mind if I join you? I am quite hungry, too."

Cecilia gently tugs her spare plate closer to herself before motioning for Alisha to sit. Mine. my food "Please, sit," she says with a smile.

"No," she says, in answer to the question. "I spent most of my youth training at the Abbey. Crest Sorcery and politics..." But the way she smiles is more genuine than the rest, and when her eyes drift away it is with a fond haze. She stays that way for, perhaps, slightly too long.

<Pose Tracker> Alisha Diphda has posed.

She seems... protective of her food. Alisha wonders, for a moment, if she comes across like she might take it. She waves a server over, though, and then calls out: "The beef stew and some ale, please!"

Alisha eats like a soldier, not like a princess.

She looks back at Cecilia, then nods. Her smile is genuine enough. "I trained with the knights," she explains. "Specifically, with my master. In arms, politics, and military matters. I remember those days fondly." She pauses, then admits: "Though... even if it is for an important task, the chance to travel has been valuable."

<Pose Tracker> Cecilia Adlehyde has posed.

Which Cecilia doesn't miss, and she cranes her neck a little as if reevaluating....something, about the situation. Alisha explains the rest fairly well. "A Princess Knight, is it?" Cecilia hems. "It seems so strange to me...Father always treated me like I would....break. The women of Adlehyde's royal family have responsibilities, of course, but...He certainly never would have allowed me to train with the knights or any such thing."

Hm. She smiles, just a bit. She remembers the days at the Abbey fondly, too; but instead of that, she says, "Has it? I guess you've traveled rather farther than I have. I could still go home in a day, if I wanted."

<Pose Tracker> Alisha Diphda has posed.

"Ah... we differ, there," Alisha says. She hesitates, before she admits: "My mother was of common birth, and I was only legitimized when I was six, and it became clear my father wouldn't have more children. The rest of my family did not interest themselves much in what I cared to do. But... being a knight was a way to not live my entire life in the palace."

She shakes her head once, then smiles. "Yes, it is much further home for me, I am afraid. But... I traveled before I came here," she says. "With the Shepherd. And a little besides, that, too, as a knight."

<Pose Tracker> Cecilia Adlehyde has posed.

Wow, this is like, some high profile Palace drama. Her hair itches just thinking about the smugly distant relatives sneering about it. Politics of royalty...she ends up releasing a low, joyless laugh at 'live my entire life in the palace,' muttering, "Oh, by Zephyr's gales, stay as far away as possible."

Huffs a sigh, shaking her head a little. "It is my first time leaving Adlehyde further than the Abbey. It is....fun?" She shrugs, not sure she wants to commit to the word so openly. "Though of course, I have much to do. We must make for Milama, soon. I think Claude wants to see the end of the tournament, though."

<Pose Tracker> Alisha Diphda has posed.

"I intend to," Alisha says, with a sigh. Of course, she doesn't have a lot of choice -- but talking about the particulars of the Council isn't a wise thing. She tilts her head, though, and then nods. "And, yes, I am inclined to agree. It is fun to go abroad, in its own way."

Ah, Claude, though. She contributed to his being removed from the tournament. "Yes, I can imagine. The Shepherd said he would wait, before we move to our next goal," she says. "It sounds similar for you and Claude. Though, I did not realize that he travels with you."

<Pose Tracker> Cecilia Adlehyde has posed.

Cecilia has every intention of just running away from Adlehyde whooping like Daffy Duck. Maybe this is becoming obvious.

"I have a small group I've gathered. We're not always together, but..." She hems, and shrugs. "Well. The roads are dangerous, and a Princess has reason to be worried often enough."

<Pose Tracker> Alisha Diphda has posed.

"Ah, yes. It is much the same with the Shepherd and his group," Alisha says. "There is safety in numbers. And... one person would have no success in many of the ruins."

Not that the Teardrop is likely to be hiding in a random ruin, but so many other things are. And, besides, the history of the world is fascinating. She nods, quickly, to her. "You have to head to Milama, though?" A beat. "...Where is that?"

<Pose Tracker> Cecilia Adlehyde has posed.

"Just so," Cecilia agrees, and reaches for her own mug. Gotta wash down that dire critter meat.

"Though of course, we mostly just charged straight here. But I suspect we'll be down soon enough. The secrets of this world's past..." Her finger finds the table and swirls, uncertainly. "...there are too many secrets yet unknown." Hopefully when she sees Lucia again she can ask a few questions. And one such secret...She looks up. "There is a Guardian Temple there. I hope to confer with the Guardians about how best to repel the Demons and recover the Teardrop."

.......this may be more direct than Filgaia's average problem-solving methods may have suggested.

<Pose Tracker> Alisha Diphda has posed.

"Ah..."

It is direct. And it is something of a surprise. Alisha is used to a world where the existence of the Goddess is known -- though, of course, the Seraphim were something else entirely. Comparing the Guardians to the Seraphim is easier. It proves easy to believe they exist.

"That... seems wise," she admits. "If they can offer any insight, that would be for the best. It is a tall order."

She smiles, a little, though. "But they may be our best hope. Much like the Seraphim back home."

<Pose Tracker> Cecilia Adlehyde has posed.

Attempting to compare the world as she sees it to the world as the people of Lunar see it is a reliable source of headaches, for Cecilia. Then again, their world itself baffles her. She is not one for such arcana.

"Without the Teardrop, and with the world in such a state, I wonder if they can even answer," she murmurs. But she draws in a breath, and for a moment, looks the part of the determined, grieving woman Alisha first expected. "But we must try."
