Authorized for release to Gebler Special Exploratory Group (SEG)
(Clearance-confirmed contractors included)

SCENE LOG: Mystery And Wonder
LOCATION: Claire de Lune
PARTICIPANTS: 2LT Voss, 'Ethius Hesiod', Jacqueline Barber, Cyre H. Lorentz, 'Elvis'
RELICS RECOVERED: Nothing of note; see summary below section
PRE-EXPLORATION SUMMARY: Investigated location based on local rumors regarding an anomaly in West Nota.
EXPLORATION SUMMARY: Location strongly resembled an amusement park in form and function, displaying a higher level of apparent technology than previously encountered on Lunar. Encountered Hesiod at site; subject behaving curiously as is typical without providing explanation. Encounters and obstacles in park largely resembled childrens' toys or other typical amusement park fare writ needlessly fantastic -- walking dolls and oversized carousels, for example. One exception was encountered: a tome in a 'backstage' type area, alongside broken devices and toys. Text was in a language that I could not read; analysis of pages show that nothing biological in nature touched the book but the lack of dust suggests that it has been touched recently. One word in the Lunar script could be made out: Hexennacht; the meaning is unknown. Investigation concluded without incident.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: Various elements of the site suggested para- or supernatural manifestation, akin to some extent to the phenomenon known as Malevolence. More investigation required, along with factfinding into whether technology or magic underlies the park's more unusual phenomena. Individual 'Elvis' not previously encountered but demonstrated extreme feats of strength; identity may be worth investigating.
COMMENTS: Update (2018-08-15): Hexennacht identified as a local children's rhyme. Text as follows:

Hexennacht,
A night for witches.
The court doth packed,
Too big their britches.

Hexennacht,
A girl with wishes.
Her life attacked,
Now she sleeps with fishes.

Relevance to book found on-site uncertain.
