SCENE LOG: Bandits On The Highroad, Machines In The Deep
PLACE: Mi'ihen Caverns
PEOPLE: CAP Voss, Lorelei Calice and Mignonette Stirling, Ashton Anchors, Lydia Seren*, Ivan, Layna Manydays
RELICS: Odessa uniforms; see below
HISTORY: After encounters with banditry on the highroad, Calice, Stirling, and I hired a sellsword and ventured into the caverns. We encountered the other participants in the exploration within thereafter.
SUMMARY: Signs immediately pointed to Filgaians as the source of the activity; technology present does not match that in Spira or on Meribus/Glenwood. Some unusual anomalies were encountered including a cave-in that appeared to be somehow frozen in time. The collapse proceeded once we ventured across. I regret that there was no time or opportunity to collect any useful data beyond my own Ether observations -- the stone was unstable and should have obeyed physics to collapse but was prevented from doing so until physically disturbed. Other obstacles included small and difficult to navigate openings, nesting Fiends, and Guards, later identified as Odessa. Towards the end of the section we explored we found an extractor apparently at work removing spheres from the rock under the Highroad; this was destroyed. Afterwards we discovered the uniforms and collected a set for possible later use.
ACTION: Further investigation, particularly of the aims of Odessa at the Highroad, is strongly recommended; we've been able to identify conclusively that the uniforms are a known match for their soldiers. Their meddling is the reason we are stuck on the moon again so we can't ignore what they're doing now no matter who they are -- remember that while Lambs are stupid, stupidity is no barrier to causing a disaster. Once we have more information, it might be possible to use the uniforms to infiltrate. DeVriese, this might be your area of expertise. Try not to flirt with them too much, it's unseemly.
COMMENTS: From VOSS: *Please see POI reports on this one. ...When we have database access again anyway.
