"Milady! Milady!" Hilda--a blonde woman in a maid's black uniform--scurries across the hall towards a turning Eleanor Klein, who blinks to see her. The young woman's earrings--on a long, pointed ear--catch the light as she turns, her golden eyes settling on...

Hilda, the maid. She looks perturbed.
Garron, a guard. He looks troubled.
Hedy, another guard. She looks harried.

"Ah," Eleanor starts, looking at all of them, "Is something the matter...?"

"Well, you see..." Hilda opens her mouth and closes it, before beginning to explain, "We have an unexpected /guest/," she starts, and this is the point at which Eleanor notices that both of the guards are dripping water from their clothes onto the tiles.

Cue a few minutes later, Eleanor, wearing a lovely orange formal dress, looks upon a doorway that is entirely ordinary, except for the fact that there /was/ no door from this hallway yesterday. She looks at the door as if it will reveal its secrets, but it doesn't. Instead, she looks to the assembled persons behind her--they're up to five, now--and says, "I'll take care of it. You all stay out here, all right?"

"But... If there's danger," Hedy starts, because her job is keeping the family safe, but Eleanor shakes her head, "I'll call. You will definitely hear me."

"All right..." She puts a hand on her sword hilt, as if to be reassuring. Maybe for herself, maybe for the young heiress.

Eleanor puts her hand on the doorknob. It's cool to the touch. And then, she opens the door, stepping inside, into--

A beautiful cavern stretches out before her, awash in greenery around a central pool that glimmers with an inner light. The cavern walls are unworked gray-blue stone, the pool surrounded by smoother stones at its rim. And within, there is radiance.

Once Eleanor steps inside, the door closes behind her, and suddenly there is a musical, lovely laughter from all directions.

"Ahahahah... Sage! You've finally come!"

Eleanor blinks her golden eyes but before she can say anything more, a figure in diaphonous draping attire whirls up at the spring, taller than Eleanor by quite a bit. She floats there, her pointed ears holding back beautiful golden hair, her wings butterfly-like and her every movement sparkling.

"It is an honor to meet Rauru's successor! And I /love/ what you've done with the place! A proper palace indeed!" Her voice rings about the cavern, cheerful and bright.

"Ah, that is..." Eleanor lifts a hand with one finger, then closes her mouth, then, "You're..."

"A Great Fairy, of course," the Fairy says, curtseying her greeting. "And you are the Sage of Light. Yes, with your awakening, it is time for much and more to happen."

"I-I see. And, my soldiers, who...?"

"Oh, I was just having a bit of fun with them! They'll be fine. But do tell them to behave better next time. And /you/, Miss Sage, should have come sooner to greet me!"

"I did come as soon as I learned you were here," she offers in her defense, and this seems to satisfy the Fairy for the moment. "But ah, may I ask, to what do I owe the... pleasure of your company?"

"Oh," the Great Fairy says, and spreads her arms wide. "I'm going to be staying with you from now on! As the Sage of Light, you'll require my counsel!"

"..." Eleanor bites her lip. "A-ah. I... Am honored! I... Of course, you are highly welcome to stay as long as you wish," she starts.

"I will," says the Great Fairy with a smile.

Eleanor is entirely at a loss as to what she will tell her mother about this.
