"I am Meryl Stryfe from the Bernadelli Insurance Society, however in some places I happen to be better known as Derringer Meryl!"
An intelligent, independent, and short-tempered young woman, Meryl Stryfe is an agent of the Bernardelli Insurance Society. Operating out of Meria Boule, the Society has grown weary of paying for damages attributed to the so-called "Vash the Stampede," and has sent Meryl and her junior co-worker, Milly Thompson, to follow Vash and verify which claims are legitimate and which are not. Though her diminutive stature may make her seem an odd choice for the duty, Meryl is serious, dedicated, and stubborn...and if worst comes to worst, she has a hundred or so derringers waiting to back up her word.

- Supplier of Donuts - Meryl seems to always be able to procure donuts. No one who actually makes them but they are paid for by the insurance company she works for.
- Endless Derringers - Due to the nature of her work and a lot of training, Meryl is highly proficient with her single-shot derringer guns.
Relationships
Milly Thompson - Meryl enjoys working with Milly and feels protective of her even though Milly can sometimes be a little distracted and doesn't always focus on the job.
Vash the Stampede - Meryl and Milly have been sent to November City to find out more about the incidents involving Vash which have cost the Bernardelli Insurance Company a lot of money.
