Team Rocket

Team Rocket is a criminal organization on Energy Nede. It was created ten years ago by its leader and founder, Giovanni, a Pokémon Trainer of considerable skill. Since then, it has engaged in criminal activities, including the pilfering of old ruins and capturing Pokémon.
History
Team Rocket is the creation of Giovanni, a Pokémon Trainer who earned the Champion rank at a young age and became obsessed with growing stronger. The exact motives behind Team Rocket's creation are inexorably attached to Giovanni's explorations of Lost Johto in his youth. Most Team Rocket members know this, but they don't know exactly what he found underneath Lost Johto.
After he returned from Lost Johto, Giovanni set about uniting several smaller criminal organizations. These varied in type, from organized crime groups engaging in racketeering and financial crimes to youth gangs that didn't quite fit into the system of Trainers and Gyms of the Pokémon League. Giovanni created a top down organization, which started out as a fairly small and quiet group.
The first nine years were built up slowly: establishing a chain of command, creating secure bases of operations, and making an infrastructure to recruit disaffected Trainers into working for Team Rocket. Recently, though, Team Rocket has made more public plays for money and power. Its focus remains on accumulating wealth, but there are concerns in the Greater Kanto Police Department and Pokémon League that its targets are often sources of power.
Culture and Outlook
Team Rocket, overall, is relatively pleasant to be a member of. They help members find housing, they provide access to entertainment and wealth, and they make sure that their people are taken care of. There is a strong sense of community in Team Rocket, too, and they have a way of offering friendship and camaraderie to people who lacked it before. This is something of a problem, as it tends to trap people in Team Rocket.
Despite that positive way of treating people, though, Team Rocket is a top-down organization. Giovanni is the Boss, and whatever the Boss says goes. Giovanni's lieutenants are in charge after that, with say over anything that happens in their sections. While Giovanni often gives them a lot of latitude, this can collapse at a moment's notice if Giovanni gets mad or has higher priorities.
Notes for OCs
- Team Rocket is a Nedian organization. This isn't to say that Team Rocket won't recruit individuals from Filgaia or Lunar, but they would be the first offworlders.
- Team Rocket focuses on Pokémon collecting, but not exclusively. Giovanni, himself, focused on developing his skill as a Trainer. A lot of Team Rocket's grunts do the same. However, he knows the value of people who know the martial arts.
- Team Rocket will not ignore Filgaia and Lunar. They will very quickly make an alliance with Leblanc from Spira, for example. Exactly how they interact with the other worlds is something we will see in play.
- Team Rocket isn't a real world organized crime group, tonally. We aren't playing at a MUSH where Team Rocket murders people and hides the bodies with concrete shoes, engages in human trafficking, or leaves Ponyta heads in people's beds. That would be a bad place.
