<Pose Tracker> Lydia Seren has posed.

Lydia Seren has been going off on adventures a fair amount lately and so she hasn't had much time back home with the folks. Nothing too exciting, just friggin' assassin problems which are hopefully all squared away now and so she can enjoy her life free from the slings and arrows of ninja life from now on. At least until all these ninja masters and secret legendary white mages recover and decide to get their revenge.

But that's a problem for Future Lydia. Current Lydia just kind of wants to see her parents again and notably by parents we mean not her biological parents but the two ladies that Lydia has more or less decided filled the parent role for real and are the best people she knows.

She clambers on top of the Fereshte's deck, looking this way and that, "Mooooms? Are you here??"

She seems to be in a good mood all told, though maybe a little antsy otherwise, holding her hands together like she's afraid they might fly off and go do their own thing if she doesn't keep a good grip.

<Pose Tracker> Riesenlied has posed.

Riesenlied was in a /fight/, which is all kinds of ridiculous when you think about it.

Most of the strenuous activity she's gotten involved in is, well, walking. Having Walking Days. Which requires, for the most part, a boosting potion in order for herself to function.

So it wasn't the wisest decision she ever had, but she's also committed to Kaguya as much as she is Lydia.

She's outside and looking somewhat ill as she represses a cough-- but perks up rather happily when she hears Lydia coming. "Lydia, over here..." where she's seated on her wheelchair at the aft of the Fereshte, clearly overlooking several children playing a game of... well, pretend-Blitzball (that's when you wanna play Blitzball but you can't really go underwater so people are just playing handball).

<Pose Tracker> Lydia Seren has posed.

Lydia hadn't hear of Riesenlied's encounter with Kaguya yet. That might be a pretty rough talk for Lydia. Lydia would probably be thrilled that Riesenlied is fighting as hard for Kaguya as she did for her though she'd also kind of worry that maybe Kaguya is too much of a handful for any lady. It was Lydia who used to be the wild one but now look at her! She's conquering an island nation! Lydia is kind of proud in a way? But way more worried that all this warmongering will, uh, go even more bad than it already has.

"Aw geeze, mom..." Lydia frets upon seeing Riesenlied's condition. She rushes over to Riesenlied and gives her a big hug. What she was worried about, which is kind of small potatos compared to what Riesenlied is going through, fades from her mind for a bit.

"Are you okay? Did you overwork yourself again??"

The hug tightens suddenly like she's afraid Riesenlied might just...vanish between her arms if she doesn't hold on.

<Pose Tracker> Riesenlied has posed.

Riesenlied is wheezing a little by the time Lydia comes up and gives her a hug -- a hug that she doubles with all her strength, feeling a need for her daughter as she looks up towards her. "Um," she starts.

She scans over her eyes and looks away for a moment. It's difficult to admit. "I was... I was..." She hesitates. "The Guard came to Djose."

She looks up to Lydia. "I don't know what I was thinking. I took a stand with Noeline and the others. We had to face Kaguya... I had to fight. I overdosed on medicine to do it."

She squeezes Lydia again, feeling fearful, like she's breaking her promise of trying to stay more safe. She's not certain why she's framing it all like a confessional. "I'm sorry, Lydia."

<Pose Tracker> Lydia Seren has posed.

Lydia hugs Riesenlied. Even with Riesenlied struggling like this, it feels very much akin to a mighty hug. Perhaps hugs like these are the mightiest ones of all. Lydia doesn't know the answer to such philisophical ponderings.

"Oh." Lydia's expression falls upon hearing about the Guard's activities and it only falls further as she hears that Kaguya is not just lending a hand, which she knew, but she even went so far as to fight Rieesenlied herself. Her mother! Kaguya even said she was the mom!

She lets go of Riesenlied before sitting down near her.

"Nah." She says. "I'm sorry. I didn't even try to stop her. I figured if I tried, she'd stop liking me."

She smiles quietly. "Heh... but maybe if I tried more..." She shakes her head. "Nah. Part of me thinks she's got the right idea. Maybe we just take power for ourselves and use it to make life better. To be honest, she might've even learned that from--"

She trails off, looking back to Riesenlied. "Sorry, haha, this really got me off guard. It must've been really hard for you to have to fight Kaguya like that. She said herself she sees you as family, for real real I mean. I'm sure she still loves you she just...is the sort of person who is okay with clobbering the people she loves in pursuit of her goals I guess? I bet she doesn't enjoy it or anything."

<Pose Tracker> Riesenlied has posed.

"I... I wanted to be swayed by the thought that perhaps if I stayed out of her way, I would never have to confront her," Riesenlied admits, voice trembling very gently. She squeezes Lydia's hand. "But I think I knew, sometime or later, that I would have to do so..."

She sucks in a breath and gives a tender smile to Lydia. It sounded like she much had the same thought, of not fighting her because she didn't want Kaguya to stop liking her.

"I-- ah... well." She sucks in a breath. "... but I was able... to be true to her. Someone told me once... that Love carries a sword. Because a love that will not get angry... that will not fight when those it cares are hurting--"

She swallows.

"There is such a thing as an insecure love like that, who believes in a negative peace."

She squozes her hand again as she asks, "How are things going... ah, with-- you know... Ivan and such? Are you doing well? Are you eating okay?" [OOC] Lydia Seren says, "'who said that?' Lydia asks. 'Sounds like a dork.'"

<Pose Tracker> Lydia Seren has posed.

Seems like Lydia is more like her adoptive mom than she really even realized. she laughs a little, cheeks silvering faintly because even she can see it. "Well if we both thought that way, I guess it's forgivable right?"

Riesenlied goes into the matter of Raftina which gives Lydia pause because honestly the Guardians weren't at the forefront of her mind there. "Oh! You mean Raftina? Yeah, we talk a lot about that sort of stuff at the Colony--well I mean we do if we're studying to be a shaman so..."

It's strange to be reminded of Baskar teachings from her mother who is not a Baskar but she supposes that she kind of IS a Baskar having been raised for a while amongst their kind.

Is she saying she has to fight Kaguya too, then? Maybe it's time to--

--AHH!! She almost forgot about what she wanted to talk to mom about because of all this important scary stuff!! Luckily Riesenlied thinks to ask about Ivan otherwise it'd be REAL awkward to get on that topic from 'sis and mom assaulted each other'.

"Oh! Well. He quit working for his evil dad. But his evil dad is still around so..." She fiddles with a strand of hair around her finger. "Um. But he asked me out. On a date."

"I uh. haven't had one before. So I was wondering if.. you had any advice?" Her cheeks get SUPER SILVER now. "Ahhh I mean...like....I need to think up a cute outfit and...what if I gross him out when I eat the food should I cover my mouth or something??"

She runs her hands down her face. She completely forgets to answer the question about whether she's eating okay (It looks like she's doing fine on that front though).

<Pose Tracker> Riesenlied has posed.

"It's important to be truthful, I think," Riesenlied admits with a quiet nod.

"And-- ah, yes--" Riesenlied blinks a few times, hesitating just a little bit. The speaking of Baskar teachings, being reminded of something. She hesitates for a moment, hearing of. "... it was something that's bothered me for a while, but--"

Ah, a really good opportunity to be distracted.

"He had an evil father? I--" Riesenlied is, of course, immediately reminded of herself. But more important things are around the corner! Like dates! Her mouth opens for a moment, but it's one that's accompanied with an approving, warm smile.

"Um... you have known each other for a while, right? I don't feel you need to worry about mannerisms or... not being you. And we can consider outfits. I'm not a tailor, but I can help coordinate something he'd like...?"

<Pose Tracker> Lydia Seren has posed.

"Oh--sorry, I guess I thought everyone knew about his evil dad. I even had to fight the Shadow Dragon Cult /before/ that and basically I'm saying it's been a wild month so far you know?"

She seems eager to focus on the positive though so Riesenlied reassures her that being herself is still good and Lydia seems to have leveled up enough that she accepts this with only minimal protest.

"Yeah if I'm not me... I'd probably have to be not me in a way that's pretty me, so I guess that wouldn't work out anyway." Lydia admits. "But yeah! Outfits! I'm used to stars on everything and just putting on anything that has a star on it, but is that like dating clothes? I don't know! He likes fire. Um. And doesn't like water. So I probably shoulddn't wear anything...water-ish?"

She taps her foot rapidly.

<Pose Tracker> Riesenlied has posed.

Riesenlied looks a little taken aback, though she recalls Ragnell asking her about the Shadow Dragon Cult just weeks before and that can't really be a coincidence. She gives her another quick hug. "I remember what they did to us in Taben Peak. I... I am glad you're safe."

She sucks in a breath and listens to Lydia's advice, um...

...

"A fire and stars-themed outfit? Something bright... and vibrant and red, perhaps?" Riesenlied tries hazarding a guess. Is this like hitting weaknesses?? She's not quite certain. Elhaym van Houten has left. Elhaym van Houten has arrived. [GRID] Elhaym van Houten has joined Lydia Seren!

<Pose Tracker> Lydia Seren has posed.

"Oh. Yeah." Lydia says. "We're okay. They didn't get any of us. There was a close call with Talia but...uh... we survived! And we all got out. So um. That's a win in my book, aheheh....."

She briefly imagines a body of a child, really, disintegrating and grimaces once more.

"Oh..hmm.... like fire AND stars? I wonder if that's too much though..." She thinks it over. "But maybe some sort of ... subtle nod?" She looks up. "Maybe like...just give the stars 'hotter' colors rather than just keeping 'em yellow. Like orange maybe? Hmm."

She taps her chin thoughtfully with a finger.

"He's pretty shy so I don't want to go too huge on him. Though I'm also shy so I don't want to go too huge...on me??"

<Pose Tracker> Riesenlied has posed.

"Something-- something like a red gradienting to orange or yellow...? With--" Riesenlied gets excited for a moment as she rummages through the little satchel that's equipped through her wheelchair, and opens a children's picturebook.

There's a picture of a white mage and a chocobo in a blue and white sweater.

"Look, this is the story I'm reading the children. Do you see this girl's robes? I was thinking the triangle pattern is really cute... don't they remind you of stars, a bit?"

A pause.

"Too much?"

<Pose Tracker> Lydia Seren has posed.

Lydia is very much not in the WHM category but she examines the picture with interest, focusing onthe pattern rather than the robes. She probably isn't going to be wearing robes to the date. "Hmm...."

She thinks it over, swaying back to the heels of her feet then back towards the toes as she mulls on it.

"Nah! I think I can work with that! If it's around the sleeves like it is there, it might not be too, uh, gimmicky. And it does look pretty cute though..."

She studies the chocobo for a moment and then covers the chocobo with a hand.

"Is it still cute...?"

CALLED. OUT.

<Pose Tracker> Riesenlied has posed.

Riesenlied looks heartened that Lydia is interested. Unlike her daughter, she very definitely is in the WHM category. Though she hasn't dressed like one... perhaps sometime? Ha ha, she jests... unless...

T-then Lydia covers the chocobo with a hand!

"W-wh!" Riesenlied stammers. "Are you saying I can't find girls cute??"

Mom's cheeks are puffing. She's kind of like Mom-Bomb right now.

<Pose Tracker> Lydia Seren has posed.

"I'm just removing the cute-enhancing variables to be sure!" Lydia protests. "It's only natural that you'd find a chocobo in a sweater to be an augmenting influence on the cuteness! It's just science!"

She quails a bit though because Mom-Bomb is too powerful.
