Arisugawa Joy is one of the many daughters in the Joy Zaibatsu, a family famous in all of Nede for its clout and influence in medicine, nursing and Pokemon healthcare -- the name 'Nurse Joy' is synonymous with the Pokemon Centre to many. This particular Joy, however, made headlines five years ago when she became Top Champion in the Nedian Pokemon League. However, she declares her renouncement one day later, citing an intent to pursue nursing as a career. Rumours of family pressure hotly circulate for a time, and suddenly seem far more credible when, at the age of fifteen, Joy suddenly stops showing up to Celadon High, running away from home. Months later, Joy resurfaces as the de-facto leader of the "Rocket Youths" delinquent gang, declaring loyalty to the infamous criminal group Team Rocket. Joy has an icy and aloof demeanour, in possession of Psychic powers. She has a broad mastery of Pokemon, and often expresses her wish to be the very best, like no one ever was. Perhaps to train them is, then, her cause? But what will be her real test?
