An artificial being built to rise above organic humanity, Emeralda Kasim is a child out of time and a blasphemy against God. Built by someone she remembers only as 'Kim' to be his surrogate child, Emeralda was left offline for thousands of years for reasons she no longer remembers before being reawakened in the modern era. Emeralda is inexperienced despite her chronological age due to spending most of it shut down or still under construction; while she sometimes acts older than she appears, other times she's as immature and childlike as she looks. She believes Fei Fong Wong to be Kim, her 'father' and creator, and tries her best to help him - though she's not always sure how. As a creation of molecular machinery, Emeralda is not an organic being but a living ARM with unusual powers considered by many to be disturbing, unnatural, or cursed. Because of this, some groups consider her not a person but an object, and one that must be controlled or destroyed. Emeralda seems largely oblivious to this lingering threat.
Kim Kasim: The only person Emeralda can clearly remember. Kim Kasim was her loving creator and father, and the single most important person in her life.
