=====================<* November City - Market Street *>======================

November City is the greatest and the largest of the Seed Cities. When it appeared after the Night of Falling Stars, it was already a large settlement, built by the survivors of that day quickly. It has since grown enormously, appealing to people in the Badlands in search of some security and the refugees from failed and lost Seed Cities. Market Street, its main thoroughfare, demonstrates this. On the outskirts of the city, shantytowns and shacks pop up along the street, gradually becoming the larger buildings in the heart of November.

The street is named for the huge market that has sprung up across it, occupying the three and four story brick buildings along each side. It's a wide, paved road (a rare thing in the Badlands) and connected to Central Station, where all of the railways come. Here, one can find anything they want. The laissez-faire nature of November City's government makes the black market an open one, and this is one of the few places where ARMs and stolen goods from Aveh and Kislev can be bought with ease.

There are also saloons, taverns, restaurants, and hotels to be found. November City is a true melting pot, where Drifters from across Filgaia mix with foreign merchants and locals of every class. Men wearing suits brush by peasants in homespun, while Drifters and knights bump into each other. The police force usually prevents outright gunfights in the streets, but November City's officials are infamously easy to bribe.

<Pose Tracker> Sephilia Lampbright has posed.

Sephilia Lampbright has always looked young for her age. People routinely mistake her for being two or three years younger than she actually is. This is something that hasn't changed, despite it being the eve of her sixteenth birthday. What has changed for Sephilia is that the number of people joining her to celebrate this momentous occasion in her life has grown.

Where at home on Lunar she would have had a small celebration with her Mom, her Dad, and Chauncey, here on Filgaia she has made many good friends, who are joining her tonight. The absence of her parents is something that Sephilia has keenly missed, of course, but tonight, this night, she's putting on a happy face because of all of the friends she has here who have been able to make it.

She selected the location, a restaurant in November City's marketplace, because they have the best meat pies, of course.

Sephilia herself is beaming at everyone who has come in unfiltered delight.

<Pose Tracker> Talise Gianfair has posed.

There was a part of Talise that was praying to Althena, for her young friend's sanity's sake, that Sephilia would get the best present of all for her birthday: Puberty. She doesn't seem to have gotten through. Must be all that hobnobbing with Hellions and Metal Demons.

With no need to fight here, Talise just wore something crisp and casual - vest, blouse, black slacks, hair swept back. Circling around the table, she moves to stand behind Sephilia's chair, bringing her hands down on her young charge's shoulders and grinning as she looks down at her from behind.

"Y'know, I'm proud of you," she says genuinely, her eyes bright. "You're hitting an important milestone today."

She winks, once. "You're old enough to drink at a restaurant now!"

What? The drinking age is lower on Lunar.

<Pose Tracker> Iskandra Grendorre has posed.

Iskandra heard about this party, and Sephilia did sort of say she was a friend. So, when she heard about the birthday party she had no other option but to come. Thus, she's here, wearing something that isn't half-beat up armour but an actual dress of some variety. It's still cheap, but it looks more festive. With her, she's brought something wrapped up in a fancy packing. It looks suspiciously like a bottle of booze, even through the wrapping. "Happy birthday."

<Pose Tracker> Tethelle Cirdian has posed.

Tethelle never actually went to birthday parties much.

Her village didn't really go for them. There was a ceremony when a child became an adult, but that was a once-a-year thing, for all the children in a given year. Still, sixteen is an important year (when do you think that ceremony took place?) and Tethelle was pleased to accept.

And so Tethelle is one of the ones who came.

Tethelle is her usual self and has her usual style of outfit, with vest and almost feathered skirt. She even has her large two-handed sword (sorry, Sephilia; Tethelle doesn't go anywhere without that if she can help it), though she's tied it into its carrier with a carefully laced ribbon.

"Sephilia," she says, as she approaches. "And Talise." And Iskandra, too, but she knows her less well. "Thank you for the invitation. I didn't expect it."

Tethelle pauses for a moment as Iskandra offers the ... bottle. Well, at least she tried. "I was not sure if it was tradition to bring you a gift, on Lunar. For us, it would be - the sixteenth year is the year we would go through the ceremonies to become adult. Do you want to accept it now?"

<Pose Tracker> Yarobeleedt has posed.

A particular hooded figure just happens to be at a restaurant today. As far as this hooded figure knows, as long as you have a cup of something, they usually don't care how long you're somewhere. (This is also predicated upon them being okay with their gella oft smelling really bad or having some kind of awful crud on it, but let's not dwell there.)
They hunker down in their seat on their table looking especially timid, for what few physical features are visible in which to get a read on such a thing. Humans are loud and scary and they put weird things in their bodies! But sometimes they say interesting things.
Tonight is unusual. Putting aside the idea that the sight of several gathered would put him on severe edge, the strange hooded figure leeeeeeeeeeeeeeans far out from their table towards the gathered appearing to give tribute to one of the Tiny Humans that he fears so much.
The little one with all the reddish fibers coming out of their head must be an especially strong member of their number!! This nonsensical but curious ritual of establishing pecking order piques the interest of the advance scout.

<Pose Tracker> Layna Manydays has posed.

Layna wouldn't miss this for the world. If a friend wanted to throw a party, particularly for an event like this, then she'd find a way to be there, even if she had to fight her way through a crowd of obstacles.

...Layna would do that anyway, of course, but it was the principle of the thing.

Layna, as always, has her proper Captain-ly uniform on, though she's made a point of making sure it's nice and clean for today.

"Aye, it's a marvelous thing!" Layna says with a grin, raising her glass at Talise's comment.

She's leaning back in her chair, one arm behind her head.

<Pose Tracker> Rosaline Calice has posed.

Rosaline is here, of course, and she seems to be in good spirits. Birthday celebrations are one of the few things she considers herself well-versed in, even though the ones she's seen were always very modest.

"Happy birthday, Sephilia," she says, simply but warmly, as she approaches the table, a paper bag in hand. "I brought a little something. It isn't much, but I hope you envoy them." She sets the bag next to the young woman, delicately.

Then comes Talise's comment about drinking age. No, it's not! Or is it?? Maybe it's different in the badlands! "Um," Rosaline says, her ears twitching.

Then Layna chimes in with her approval. "Um!" And here comes Iskandra, with a present that seems to be...!

"UM!"

Rosaline's eyes are very wide. She doesn't say anything, but her tail sways nervously.

<Pose Tracker> Ida Everstead-Rey has posed.

Ida honestly thought that Sephilia was thirteen years old at the absolute most. It's kind of a shock to find out that she's actually approaching the age of majority--and it makes her mannerisms that much stranger and more troublesome to Ida. Nevertheless, she got an invitation, and she is not about to disappoint, even if part of her would rather avoid any large social gatherings for the foreseeable future.

"Sephilia," Ida says, a smile on her face as she approaches the gathering. She's wearing the outfit she used to wear all the time when the others first met her--the scholarly one, rather than the more thrown-together military surplus one. She has a cup of coffee in one hand, and a parcel wrapped in stenciled paper in the other. "Talise, Layna, Rosaline." Hellion poisoner. It takes remarkable self-control, but Ida manages to dial her gut reaction down from 'immediately get enraged, threaten with violence' to 'look at, curiously and a little disapprovingly'. Ida didn't know she had it in her.

"Tethelle." Ida is a little more subdued, now, but she sets her gift on the table and takes a seat.

<Pose Tracker> Sephilia Lampbright has posed.

Sephilia beams up at Talise. "It's pretty exciting! I'm happy you could be here with me!" She looks at everyone else. "That goes for all of you! I wish you could all meet my Mom and Dad and have my Mom's meat pies, but this place is pretty darn good too.

She accepts Iskandra's gift with a curious expression on her face. "Oh, uh, thank you!" she says. "Is it okay to open this now?"

She means unwrap, really.

To Tethelle, she beams widely. "To be an adult," she breathes. "Yes! I'll accept it!" she exclaims.

Maybe she doesn't quite get what she is accepting.

"Aw, thanks, Rosaline! I can't wait to see it..."

Then Ida arrives, and Sephilia's grin threatens to lop off the top of her own head.

Not really. That's a colorful turn of phrase, that's all. But it IS a big grin.

"Ida! You came! I...I was a little worried you might not be able to make it!" The girl is so happy that tears are welling in her eyes.

Meanwhile, Chauncey is sitting dourly at his spot at the table, grimly regarding the meat pie set before him.

The pie doesn't blink.

Neither does Chauncey.

<Pose Tracker> Talise Gianfair has posed.

Brightening visibly, Talise smiles as Tethelle makes her approach. "Tethelle!" she exclaims, that smile quickly widening to a fangy little grin. "I'm glad you could make it."

She is a little less enthused that Iskandra showed up but she decides not to make an issue of it, since it's her friend's big night. Talise catches Ida's gaze, those little signs in the naturalist's expression caught easily enough; she nods quietly to the woman. Signs in her own expression betray her - the slight crinkle around the corners of her eyes, the tightness of her jaw, all signs that she's not happy about this.

She covers for it by giving Sephilia a brisk clap on the shoulders again. "I'm glad we could be too. For now, you've got us, and I think we can make your birthday pretty great, too. It's an important one, after all! You've officially come of age."

She steps back, draping herself in a seat next to the girl. Reaching into her vest, she comes out with a wrapped bundle of her own - it's a flattened rectangle, which she sets down on the table.

Eyes darting to Rosaline, Talise grins widely at her. "It's okay, Ros'! I was drinking when I was like eight, it won't hurt anyone!"

<Pose Tracker> Tethelle Cirdian has posed.

"Of course I made it," Tethelle replies. "I wasn't going to pass if I had a choice."

Tethelle unhooks something from her sword carrier, where it had been hidden due to resting against her back while she carried it.

It is a knife in a leather sheath, very similar to the one Tethelle herself carries - sturdy but not overly long, single-edged, currently tied into its sheath with a ribbon. Since Tethelle didn't wrap it, it's the closest she has to that. "I'm sure everyone expected me to bring a sword," Tethelle says, with a grin, "but that's a personal choice. Every adventurer should have a knife, though - and if you already have one, a spare."

She sets it in front of Sephilia on the table, for her to deal with (or not). "And you're certainly an adventurer, so here it is."

Tethelle looks up, afterwards, toward Rosaline. "Pardon?" she asks, uncertain what the problem is. (Baskar!!)

<Pose Tracker> Rosaline Calice has posed.

Rosaline offers tiny waves to people as they continue to come in. Iskandra is the only one here she doesn't really know, and she wasn't present for that whole poisoning mess, and so has little reason to be on edge besides her usual. She's HEARD of it, but she hasn't put two and two together yet.

The color drains from Rosaline's face. "E-Eight?" She glances at Ida, possibly the only sane person in the room from her point of view, where that particular issue is concerned.

But in any case... "It's nothing," she says, finding herself a seat.

"A knife is pretty useful for survival, it's true," she comments.

<Pose Tracker> Layna Manydays has posed.

"Happy to be here, lass. Wouldn't miss it for all the coin in the world." Layna replies with a grin. It was good to see everyone here and in a relatively good mood. Something seemed to be bothering Talise and Ida, though she didn't really understand what.

It was probably that strange hooded figure. It certainly couldn't be anyone at this table, right?

Layna does not need to reach into her coat for her parcel, as it's sitting right in front of her. It's handed over toward Sephilia with a grin.

She then nods approvingly at Tethelle's gift and at Rosaline.

"Aye, a good knife is a solid gift. Some say it's bad luck...but I say it's practical!" She comments.

<Pose Tracker> Yarobeleedt has posed.

The hooded figure over yonder looks upon gifts handed out so far. The initial revelation of Tethelle's - a knife - confirms the strange figure's suspicions in so much as it conforms to pre-existing notions of what they are observing.
Tributes to a truly mighty warrior, indeed! The hooded figure looks each and every way. He is not clear on what, exactly, is the method in which one is supposed to pay tribute! Is the lack of notice from some of the others a sign of disrespect? With that knife the tiny human now has in their possession, does this mean there will soon be a contest within this establishment?
This figure sure has seen a lot of 'contests' break out here. This seems logical.
The hooded figure looks down at their own seat. An idea forms as one sleeve reaches down...
As the meeting and greeting and exchanges of gifts continue, there is quiet sounds of wood being sawed for... som reason or another. The reason becomes (kind of?) clear some moments later, as a flick of yellow may enter one's peripheral visuion as the hooded figure snaps a limb out faster than the vast majority of eyes could ever register.
A small cylindrical length of wood - freshly removed from a stool - rolls inconspicuously on Sephilia's table.
Whew, the figure thinks. He is safe, then, having paid proper tribute. He congratulates himself for his quick thinking and intelligent decision making!

<Pose Tracker> Iskandra Grendorre has posed.

"Feel free to open it." Iskandra offers a smile and then steps back, noticing the many hostile glances she gets and sighs deeply, "Man, can't even visit a friend's birthday party without people looking at you like they want to kill you." She mutters, clearly frustrated by the whole thing, but she heads over towards the pirate, "Been a while, cap'n. How do you do?"

<Pose Tracker> Ida Everstead-Rey has posed.

Ida looks at Rosaline, her lips pulling a little tighter. She nods, once, and then it's back to Sephilia. Iskandra's presence means that Ida isn't paying as much attention to the mysterious cloaked figure as she probably should, but she only has so much to spare. Her left eye tics, ever-so-slightly, as Iskandra speaks, but the mysterious dowel rod gives her something else to focus on. Ida grabs it to stop it from rolling off the table, and stares at it a moment.

One of the stools next to that weird cloaked person is... missing part of one of its legs. Ida blinks. "Good to be here," she says to Sephilia, belatedly.

<Pose Tracker> Sephilia Lampbright has posed.

Sephilia beams and holds up the knife to admire it (and let everyone see it.) "I love it! Thank you!" She then sets to opening the other gifts, thanking each friend in turn as she gets to their packages. Talise's is opened first, then Iskandra's, Rosa's, and Layna's, and Sephilia is sure to show lots of delight no matter what the gift is!

Chauncey continues his staring contest.

<Pose Tracker> Talise Gianfair has posed.

Talise stares for a few confused seconds at the hooded figure.

Sephilia must be attracting lunatics or something, she reflects bitterly, deciding to reserve the urge to punch someone out.

For now, though, she has a Sephilia to attend to, Talise flashes a smile back to Ida, as if to make sure her friend's alright, then turns her gaze to Sephy again, watching the girl unwrap the present. Anticipation hangs in her expression.

Behind the wrapping paper are two items. The first is a slender, elegantly-decorated case full of expensive art pencils and charcoals. Across the lid of the case, the name 'Lampbright' has been embossed in silver, the word tapering off into the silhouette of a running fox cub.

The case sits atop a good-sized, heavily-bound leather book - not too weighty, and portable.

Sephilia's very own adventurer's guide, not unlike her dad's, in some ways.

<Pose Tracker> Tethelle Cirdian has posed.

"I'm glad," Tethelle says, and she is; she wasn't entirely sure it was an appropriate gift. Not because of age purposes, but just because she isn't used to non-Baskar (or, more accurately, non-her-village) birthday celebrations and gifts. She didn't have a party on hers.

Tethelle ends up plopping into a seat nearish Rosaline and immediately leaning back, tilting her chair dangerously. This is because she has her feet up on the crossbar of the table. (It's fine, because they're not actually on the table.) It may still be a bad example for Sephilia.

(Tethelle doesn't care. She prefers to be a good example with important things and be entertaining, or entertained, at other times.)

Someone else stops the dowel before Tethelle straightens and gets to it. She looks at it a little strangely, then in the direction it came from; she can't figure out the point, and so she mostly just ensures the dowel is off the table afterwards.

She lets Sephilia deal with other people and their gifts without getting in the way, though she spends an appropriate amount of time admiring the book and pencase. "Not just survival," she says to Rosaline instead. "It's a tool with so many different uses, both in ruins and outside. I would not like to get caught without mine."

<Pose Tracker> Rosaline Calice has posed.

Rosaline's ears twitch as she hears a sound that doesn't much much sense here. Is someone doing... carpentry?

It stops before she can identify the source. How very odd. The newly-offered gift escapes her notice, for now.

"I-It's probably fine," Rosaline tells Iskandra, reflexively trying to reassure her, even though she has no idea about the broader situation. She glances around for impressions, and stops at Ida holding a... stool's leg?

"What is this?"

"I carry a small one, though I don't really use it to fight," she tells Tethelle. Then, for a moment, she focuses on Talise's present being opened. "Aww." This is very thoughtful.

Inside Rosaline's bag is... macadamia nut cookies! "As I said, it's not much but... I made them myself," she explains, something resembling a hint of pride in her voice. "And it only took two tries. Just don't eat them all at once, all right?"

<Pose Tracker> Tethelle Cirdian has posed.

"Neither do I." As if to prove this, Tethelle arranges her greatsword just so so that it hangs off the back of her chair. "It's a tool, not a weapon. I think the most dangerous thing I have used it on is a fish before I cooked it."

<Pose Tracker> Layna Manydays has posed.

"Doing pretty well, I'd say! I've been doing some investigation here and there...but we can talk about that some other time, aye?" Layna replies with a grin toward Iskandra.

As for Layna's gift...

The parcel is opened, revealing...a telescope! Much like Layna's own, it's finely crafted, perfect for viewing at things long distances or small things up close.

"Got my first telescope when I turned sixteen, I did. Figured I'd do the same for you." Layna says with a grin. She'd used one before that point, of course, but that was when she received one of her own. It was symbolism, more than anything.

<Pose Tracker> Ida Everstead-Rey has posed.

"It just appeared on the table," Ida says. Puzzling, but probably not actively dangerous? Tethelle gets it out of the way, giving Ida room to slide the large, wrapped package over to Sephilia. She smiles at Talise. "Biscuits," Ida remarks, as the cookies come out. "Why Rosaline, I didn't know you baked." She sounds appreciative!

The package contains... a sturdy leather case, the kind used to carry books, journals, and various writing supplies. Ida tries not to feel self-conscious.

<Pose Tracker> Iskandra Grendorre has posed.

Iskandra's gift is a fancy looking bottle with a hand-painted label. It's apparently healberry brandy. So it heals and intoxicates. "Made it myself. This is from my best batch." She explains why cheerfully. It may not be the best gift, but at least she tried. She glances towards Rosaline, "No I'm fairly sure they want to kill me over some kind of bullshit reason, but I'll deal with it." Then to Layna, "Sure, let's talk later."

<Pose Tracker> Yarobeleedt has posed.

It becomes crystal clear. The existence of a dowel threatens their place in the hierarchy to be determined after the tribute - that must be why it is being removed!
This is a most cutthroat contest for survival... moreso than usual! The figure shudders with anticipation and worry. The intensity is palpable. Their profile shrinks with every sideglance from the attendees in their direction.
He must up the ante on tributes, he surmises, lest he find himself at a disadvantage against one of the fiercest members of the human race and their entourage of lessers... who are so lesser that they kicked his aaaaaaaaaaah no no no he's not going there.
Oh, look at that, just further ahead. There is a jar of some kind that smells of tobacco, loose teeth, and all sorts of utterly nasty things. Surely, this is a worthy tribute to a warrior! It's also on the floor, so it is thus logical that it belongs to no one.
A same series of improbably fast movements later, there is now a... very well-used spitoon on the birthday table.
The hooded figure sits in anticipation a ways away, feeling that his unwitting competition's shot at obtaining a high place in the hierarchy are thus sabotaged.
Not even ^Crimson Fable^ Noeline would think of that!!

<Pose Tracker> Sephilia Lampbright has posed.

Sephilia is overwhelmed by the gifts. The book and pen case get a loud squeal of delight that may in fact be painful to listeners. She's also quite pleased to see the cookies. "I'll make sure I only have one a day till I run out!" Sephy promises Rosaline. "I can't wait!"
The telescope from Layna is immediately seized and used to look at Chauncey, which sends Sephy into a cascade of giggles. "He's SO BIG!" she laughs.
Ida's gift gets Sephy squealing in delight again, and while she doesn't squeal at Iskandra's gift, she does smile gratefully. "Thank you, Iskandra," she says. "Brandy's a little strong for me, though."

Sephy looks confused about the dowel. "What's...what's with the chair leg--eugh, and the spitoon?!" Sephy wrinkles her nose.

<Pose Tracker> Talise Gianfair has posed.

"Wow, Ros', you made them?" Talise's eyes widen as she looks up at the young Etone with new appreciation. "That was really thoughtful."

She peers at the gift Iskandra brought along. "Really? Huh. That's cool," she says with an arch of her eyebrows. "How's it compare to Old Man Ettlesbury's Olde-Fashioned Heal Berry Liqueur? Sponsor of Lady Chloe Alexandre, y'know."

More important, though, is Sephilia opening her gifts. Talise looks back to the younger girl, waiting with a smile of anticipation. And then --

That squee.

Talise grins sheepishly, rubbing the back of her neck with one hand. "I figured you'd get a lot of use out of that. You've already adventured a lot more than most sixteen-year-olds ever will in their lives. You're becoming a great adventurer in your own right. Maybe," she says with a dip of her head, "you'll one day pass the things you learned on to your own children."

<Pose Tracker> Ida Everstead-Rey has posed.

A spitoon suddenly appears. Ida's nose wrinkles, visibly, and she looks down at the object that had the temerity to show up in the middle of the proceedings. She doesn't touch it, because why would she? It's disgusting. "Is this someone's idea of a joke?" she says. "How horrible." She does her best not to wince as Sephy lets loose with sounds of excitement that might just get nearby dogs howling. "But yes. A sturdy carrying-case is valuable, especially in the field. I thought it would be a suitable gift."

<Pose Tracker> Rosaline Calice has posed.

Ida and Talise comment on Rosaline's present. She lets out a nervous laugh and blushes slightly. "I'm still not very good at it, but I've been learning with a few friends. I couldn't buy anything expensive, so I figured I would make something." And Sephilia looks pleased, too, which is what counts most.

Rosaline watches as the rest of the presents are revealed. The telescope prompts a small smile. Does that make Sephilia a tiny pirate? Rosaline would have mixed feelings about this. It seems underage drinking comes with that territory.

Ida's gift is practical, as expected. "Oh, this should go well with the Talise's present," Rosaline remarks. "Praise be." It's possible that they coordinated gifts, but the Etone-in-training chooses to attribute it to divine providence instead.

Then comes Iskandra's, which is hardly surprising. And then she cusses! Rosaline flinches. Now she has a better idea why people would want to kill her. But luckily, the spittoon distracts everyone by being a much worse gift by every possible metric!

"I don't understand. I-Is someone playing a prank?"

She glances at Chauncey. Is he performing a birthday heel turn? That would be the worst possible twist!

<Pose Tracker> Layna Manydays has posed.

Layna nods toward Iskandra. She didn't even flinch at the idea that Talise and Ida might want to kill Iskandra for some reason, but she definitely heard it.

"Aye." She replies. Her eyes are drawn toward the spitoon, which raises an eyebrow...

...But even so, seeing Sephilia so pleased with her gifts, Layna can't help much smile.

"A prank? Aye, could be... Want me to find the culprit and do somethin' about 'em, Sephy?" Layna asks with a mischievous grin toward Sephilia.

<Pose Tracker> Sephilia Lampbright has posed.

Sephilia shakes her head. "Let's just get it off the table I think," she says to Layna, then, "and I wanna say thanks again to everyone! You're...you're all good friends to me and...and even though I really miss home and Dad and Mom and so does Chauncey, it's just..." Sephy's face scrunches up, but she doesn't burst into tears for once. "Th-thanks, all of you."

<Pose Tracker> Tethelle Cirdian has posed.

Tethelle, on the other hand, does touch the spitoon - once again to get rid of it. (It's okay; she has gloves, and she takes them off afterwards, looking only moderately irritated.)

"I would like to see where they are coming from," she agrees, as she rests her hands on the table. "That isn't an appropriate gift." Neither is the brandy, but maybe Sephi will get used to that taste in time.

She smiles. "You're welcome. I thank you for inviting me. As I said - I wasn't expecting it, but I'm pleased to be here."

<Pose Tracker> Yarobeleedt has posed.

"Do not want?!" The hooded figure gasps in a small voice, as the tiny human's reaction to this superior choice of tribute is rejected! How?! What does he fail to understand?! He thought he understood so much that he was overstanding!! Oversitting?! The grin from the pirate captain makes the hooded figure slouch even further from their once-safe sitting place.
What manner of incomprehensible illogic dictates these human military procedures?!

<Pose Tracker> Talise Gianfair has posed.

Talise squints, for a moment, at the spitoon.

She sighs a little and glances at Iskandra. "Nobody wants to kill you," she says mildly. "Besides, now's not the time for arguments."

The hooded figure gets an odd look from her, and she cups her chin in her palm, considering for a moment. But the thought's quickly set aside, and she smiles warmly around the table, eyes darting from Layna to Rosaline to Ida to Tethelle and then finally to Iskandra, then to Sephilia.

Talise reaches out and gives the girl a brisk hug about the shoulders, grinning broadly. "You're a great friend to us too. And hey. So long as you're with us, you're with people who care for you, y'know? Remember that!"

<Pose Tracker> Ida Everstead-Rey has posed.

Ida rubs the bridge of her nose. Sephilia offered an honest thank-you, but to Ida's ears, it feels... childish, somehow. Should a sixteen-year-old be that dependent on their parents? Homesickness she can understand, but--

No. Don't even think about guilt-tripping Sephilia on her birthday.

"You're very welcome," Ida says, to Sephy.

<Pose Tracker> Rosaline Calice has posed.

Rosaline is glad that Layna and Tethelle are taking care of the spittoon situation. If the beastwoman snapped and followed her natural instincts, she might just shove it off the table, and that would make a TERRIBLE mess.

"You'll see them again someday," Rosaline tells Sephilia quietly, her hands joined in prayer. "I'm sure of it." Melancholy crosses her features, but not for long.

<Pose Tracker> Layna Manydays has posed.

"Aye, if that's what you want." Layna says with a nod toward Sephilia, and then to Tethelle for actually doing it.

She looks back toward Talise as the taller woman goes to give Sephilia a hug around the shoulders.

"Aye, I'll drink to that!" Layna says with a grin, raising her glass again at Talise's statement.

"If you ever need anything, lass - anything at all - my crew and I will be there for you. Remember that. I'm sure everyone else here would say the same!" She says with a nod before taking a drink.
