Whit is proficient in martial arts and healing Symbology. His companion is the Ivysaur Chauncey (not Chansey). He works for a travel magazine as a photojournalist and is VERY excited about exploring Filgaia/Lunar and chronicling the Visitors' worlds! He is eager to see things no Nedian has ever seen before! He is slow to trust but knows better than to brave dangerous places alone. He would be grateful for a trustworthy mentor.

Background

Whit is, at heart, an explorer and writer. He is firstborn to Anne Aomori, and has the typical Aomori family background of ninja training, Pokemon handling, and Nedian healing Symbology. He is serious and disciplined. He is adapting to Lunar and Filgaia and is open about using martial arts, though he won't admit they're ninjutsu. He's found the wildlife MUCH more hostile than he's used to! He is still experiencing culture and lack-of-technology shock. He collects souvenirs, and, while he would prefer that items from Digs remain where they are (and thoroughly documented), he's not above taking them if they could prove useful to him. He is particularly intrigued by the rise and fall of civilizations, since Nede's history has been stagnant for 35,000 years. While he went on his Pokemon Journey in PC 500, he wasn't interested in following in the footsteps of his father Linden Stacey, a Champion-ranked Trainer -- his ambitions lay elsewhere! [OOC note: inspiration is the folks behind National Geographic.]

Profile

  • Loves: Chauncey, his family, new faces & places
  • Likes: Beer, hearing Drifter's stories
  • Dislikes: Staying in one place too long, deadlines
  • Hates: Cruelty, stealing
  • Flaws: Overly devoted to his career. Doesn't have much of a personal life.
  • Weaknesses: Doesn't trust easily. You have to EARN it!
  • Personality Traits That Could Be Exploited: Curiosity about new places, naivete about Filgaia/Lunar

Powers

  • Chauncey. Whit's best friend, an Ivysaur (Grass/Poison). They have been together since his childhood.
  • Martial Arts. Ninjutsu, mostly. He passes them off as regular martial arts. He uses the Stacey heirloom katana, as well as shurikens and smoke bombs.
  • Healing Magic. Awakened in his Nedian DNA.
  • Hoverbike. A wonderful example of Nedian Symbology. He stores it in Chauncey's Pokeball. It is nonpolluting and perfectly silent, and nowhere near as cool as Kresnik's motorcycle. It can carry two people, plus all his kit.
  • Connections. Working for a magazine gives him access to their research department, including a Pokedex. (Note: he has to check it out and return it; it's not his Pokedex).
  • Technology. His prize possessions are his camera, laptop, and cell phone. The cellphone doesn't work on Filgaia bc no towers.
  • Capitalism, yay. FOL is useless on Filgaia, so he's taken to buying Symbologically enchanted trinkets at home and selling them for gella/gil. Items that generate water or ice are particularly in demand, as are healing amulets.
  • Speed Sneakers. Symbologically-enchanted shoes that, when activated, let him put on a brief burst of speed.
  • Docent. Whit likes taking 'dramatic' items back home to put in front of his magazine's office (or in the lobby) as a publicity stunt. He follows all laws and regulations about importing things into the fragile Nedian ecology, and knows better than to bring in live animals or plants, or anything that could be dangerous. Many Nedians are eager to see artifacts from ALIEN WORLDS!!

His Exhibits, in or near the magazine's lobby

  • February PC 506: A stuffed owlbear. The taxidermist did a wonderful job capturing the beast's ferocity. Don't ask how Whit managed to haul it back. (He had help).

Latest Update

Whit was present at Wayside's Bake Sale, where he found out more about the Wayside Outreach (and bought an almond croissant).

Energy Nede and Filgaia

Whit was astonished at the sudden appearance of the Visitors and immediately wrote an article about them, which gained him some notoriety. He also began preparing to explore their world(s), but was cautious about it, consulting Drifters beforehand about possible dangers waiting beyond the portal. He helped defeat Team Rocket at the Dunsparce Spa and was shocked and appalled to find out that Jessie is part of Team Rocket. He has no solid proof, however, other than her own admission. He told Anne Aomori about Jessie's involvement shortly afterwards. Whit was present at Wayside's Bake Sale, where he found out more about the Wayside Outreach (and bought an almond croissant).

Relationships

Family

  • Anne Aomori. He gets along fine with his Mom. He doesn't yet know she's in Team Rocket. When he finds out, their relationshipo will get ... complicated. She's kept a copy of every article he's ever written!
  • Sable Aomori. His little sister. He is protective of her, and she looks up to him. She probably envies that he is living independently instead of under Mom's thumb.
  • Linden Stacey. His father. Whit was around for Anne and Linden's on-again, off-again relationship. He and Linden are on good terms and stayed in contact during his youth. Linden teaches at Princebridge University in Pewter City. His pokemon is a Meganium (Grass) which looks kind of like a small green brontosaurus with a pink or red flower-frill collar.
  • Edgar Chiba. Sable's father. Whit is indifferent to him but treats him civilly when he comes 'round to court Anne. He mistrusts Edgar's charming exterior. His partner is a Braixen (Fire), which looks like a bipedal flame-colored fox.
