Background

Matilda has a degree in compounding from the Academy of Linga and a neat ARM!

If you want more than that, ask her!

Powers and Abilities

Matilda is a compounder!

Ignore the ARM.

Relationships

Artemis Leaf

A strong curative of toxins even in its uncompounded state, the artemis leaf is reliable and valuable.

Lavender

Reliable, commonly available, and uncomplicated. ... And I'm always running out, somehow...

  • Cyre H. Lorentz: "Though his methods are -- unique -- he's certainly proven himself."
  • Ida Everstead-Ray: "I think perhaps we are not terribly un-alike! We seem to have similar stories, though she's much more... outgoing than I am. I hope to get to know her better!"
  • Jacqueline Barber: "Her resolve is impressive. There's something she has that I simply... don't."

Aceras

Orchids are beautiful, but in a complex, sometimes dangerous way.

  • Abigail Ivers: "Ahahaha... erm... Please don't ask about this."
  • Ethius Hesiod: "I found out. I didn't much like the experience... it is one thing to be unusual, but another to be, erm..."
  • Noeline: "Ah -- to have one so old and wise find you novel... Ahahaha, it's a little intoxicating, isn't it?"

Rose Hips

Rose hips, in compounding, are eclectic and prone to significant change based on what else is in the compound. Isn't that beautiful?

  • Corwynt: "His grooming is impeccable."
  • Neriah Parringer: "My! What an unusual young woman! ... though... quite the quick wit, all else said..."
  • Rosaline Calice: "I thought I'd had you figured out, but... that wasn't what I expected..."

Mandrake

Tremendously poisonous... but a little captivating just the same.

  • Riesenlied: "Noeline has made her case so well... but is it even possible to forgive something like this? Does Filgaia have life enough in it for every flower to bloom...?"

Wolfsbane

Death is certain. At best, a repellent.

  • The Black Ties: "... There are reasons a polite society must be an armed one."

Discoveries

Ruins of Lahan

Lost Journal: Unfortunately, this part of the town has been stripped of anything that might be of value. There are broken and shattered Gears lying about, but there is nothing that suggests anything valuable at first glance. However, there is an unexpected surprise amidst the wreckage. The party turns up a locked, leather bound journal that appears to have a large number of annotations and ribbons threaded through the pages to mark locations. The lock itself is nothing special and is easily opened, but the journal itself appears to be in an old dialect and is partially encoded, and the notes don't make a lot of sense. A mysterious book indeed!

Intact Slave Generator: This is the jackpot for anyone who is looking for a major find among the ruins of Lahan. One of the Gears that was damaged in the battle still has its Slave Generator intact - and while the rest of the frame is utterly ruined, a working Gear class Slave Generator is an extremely valuable find. Sold on the black market it will raise a fair amount of Gella, enough to keep the party well supplied and able to live comfortably for several months. Just don't get caught by Aveh or Kislev when selling it.

Berry Cave

Fallen Drifter: A Drifter lay on the floor of the room. Luck has run out for this poor soul, and they have collapsed with a bloody wound torn into their back. However, the law of the wastelands states that where a Drifter falls, they leave their goods for the next. Their gunsmoke ARM, their stash of gella, and whatever else they might have carried with them.

Haunted Manor

Spare Uniforms: Following the defeat or retreat of the old man, the party rummages around the room and eventually comes across his closet. What would they find in there but a suspiciously correct number of spare military uniforms from an ancient era! Though the style might not be to your liking, they're worth a lot, and the tissue is fairly sturdy. They could be recycled into very high quality armor to wear under your clothes, if you're willing to ruin them.

Lolithia's Tomb

Plentiful Pottery: An exploration of this part of the inner Tomb reveals a large amount of old pottery and other cultural artifacts. Most are painted with abstract patterns, but a few show stylized scenes of large humanoids fighting against smaller, demonic looking creatures set before fields of fire, water, or mountains. As cultural artifacts of the ancient past, these will fetch a decent price with a collector, the Ethos, or the Adventurers' Guild.
