"Come on, Lieutenant. We have a long road ahead of us."
Leon Albus is the commander of one of Kislev's elite commando teams, the Black Wolves. Kislev's high command accused him and Lily Keil, his second-in-command, of killing their entire team while trying to turn coat to Aveh. Rather than face a court martial, they ran from the team sent to arrest them and quickly had bounties placed on their heads. Despite becoming a Drifter, Leon retains a serious, results-oriented military mindset. He also retains a terrible sense of humor and his ARM, a fold-out sword and shotgun combination designated Argent Divider. The deaths of his men has affected Captain Albus deeply, though, and he is more reticent than he used to be. He continues to work with Lily, as a Drifter now, and seeks a dangerous automaton ARM called "Gryndille."
Leon wields a unique ARM called Argent Divider. It has two modes. In shotgun mode, it looks like an over-under barrel shotgun; the topmost barrel is narrow and rectangular, while the bottom is more traditional. The top barrel fires lances of silver energy. The bottom can be loaded with regular slugs and specialized rounds, including a corrosive shell, an armor-piercing round, and a round that explodes into a bladed cord that can tangle up in limbs.
Argent Divider can also be folded out, to form a straight double-edged longsword. However, it can project a blade of light along the length of the blade. The only technique he knows of this sort projects a blade of energy, which typically lasts for one swing, which the ARM itself designates Code.26 CLARENT.
He can also use the sword as a weapon, which falls under technique. Leon uses the Kislev Six Hews, a style of longsword fencing that dates back to Kislev's founding, and is so named for the six perfected strokes created by a master in 122 PC. Leon was taught this style by his father; he knows four of the six strokes.
He is also a natural commander and small unit tactician. Leon was devastatingly effective as a commando, and the Black Wolves caused endless troubles for Aveh. He also has training in Gears, and has piloted them in battle, though Leon was an infantryman first and foremost. In dungeons, he has a coil of climbing rope and a flare gun.
Lily Keil: Everything. He regrets everything that happened when they fought Gryndille and after. To say that he blames himself is an understatement. But, he made a promise when they were children, and he intends to keep it.
Friends
Fei Fong Wong: One of the people who ended up on the Yggdrasil, who -- despite a rocky start -- became one of Leon's first friends since the Black Wolves fell. Fei may be tormented, but he has been a true friend. Even if, at times, Leon thinks that Fei sees him for who he was... and not who he has been.
Josephine Lovelace: A smart woman with a good head on her shoulders. The teasing still leaves him feeling a little weird. But, she cares for Lily and has looked out for them. He has come to accept her as a friend. He still thinks Penelope is weird.
Allies
Jude Moshe: A scoundrel, who took advantage of Leon's attempt and kindness. But, then he showed real kindness. He helped Lily. He came to help them against Gryndille. Leon is, grudglingly, beginning to trust Moshe. He should still tuck his shirt in.
Bartholomew Fatima: He seems to be intelligent, if hot-blooded and cocky. Leon isn't entirely convinced of his skills as a leader -- he doesn't know that he takes their situation or opponents seriously enough -- but he can't argue about the resources made available to him.
Acquaintances
Cassidy Cain: An enigma to Leon. She doesn't seem to be a bad sort, but a part of Leon's mind shouts a warning that she has more going on than she has revealed. Still, she helped him in more way than one -- and she encouraged him. He is curious about who she is, and that's enough to keep him there.
Hiro: Reasonably competent, entirely too earnest, and smitten with Lucia. It's adorable. He is also much too trusting.
Gryndille: The automaton that attacked the Black Wolves, leaving only death and destruction in its wake. Leon has sworn to destroy it, and his anger towards this strange ARM is the central driving force in his life.
Riesenlied: An enemy he respects and will cooperate with -- and yet an enemy just the same. He agrees with her sentiment about war, soldiers, and how to stop war -- but he doesn't think he can be part of the solution, and isn't sure that he trusts her solution.

Maybe I'm foolish, maybe I'm blind
Thinking I can see through this and see what's behind
Got no way to prove it so maybe I'm blind
But I'm only human after all, I'm only human after all
Don't put your blame on me
Take a look in the mirror and what do you see
Do you see it clearer or are you deceived in what you believe
Cos I'm only human after all, you're only human after all
Don't put the blame on me
Don't put your blame on me
