"That's how I know you're full of shit: you keep bein' a pain in my ass!"
As quick with a sharp word as she is with her elemental lightning, Ragnell has a cynical dislike of humans due to having watched them betray their own over and over again. Though a stranger to Filgaia, she's taken to the sandy dog-eat-dog world of wanderlust like a horse to water and will pop up just about anywhere in it. Easily and often mistaken for a man, Ragnell is rude, coarse, unvarnished, smart-assed, and a lover of pranks. While it's not beyond her to help the weak out when the mood takes her, there's a certain extra-steely look in her eye when she sizes up particularly strong humans--and sometimes she'll challenge them to fights, wielding a pair of lightning-charged pistols with formidable skill, just because she can. Yet at other times, she might well fight alongside them instead as she digs through the world in search of its secrets. Other times still, she might have a few juicy tidbits of information to offer--for a price. Is she an enemy or an ally? Either way, there's no way a varmint like her could have any deeper meaning for what she does. ...right?
Background
- TBA
Powers and Abilities
- Lightning-elemental Seraphic magic, including offense and healing.
- A pair of pistols. They appear at first glance to be ARMs due to her channeling her lightning magic through them, but they're actually normal guns.
Relationships
Shepherd's Retinue
- Edna: A fellow Seraph, though of earth rather than lightning. They've had a long acquaintance, Ragnell having visited the Rayfalke Spiritcrest a few times over the centuries, and they get along fairly well due to their mutual like of sarcasm and pranks, and mutual dislike-but-not-quite-hatred of humans.
- Lailah: A fellow Seraph, though of fire rather than lightning. Likewise, Ragnell has a long acquaintance with Lailah, though she only ran into her again recently. It's been a long time...
- Sorey: The current Shepherd. Ragnell is keeping an eye on him to see how the fledgling Shepherd grows, and so far, she approves of what she sees. They're not on the best of terms, though, since Ragnell picked a fight with one of his companions.
- Princess Alisha: The Shepherd's Princess companion. Ragnell picked a fight with her after levying some heavy criticism on her, but found herself approving of the Princess's spirit. They don't exactly get along well, but Ragnell thinks she has potential.
- Rose: The Shepherd's merchant/assassin companion. Ragnell's pleased that Rose has finally allowed herself to start to see Seraphim; that fear of hers was really holding her back. Sucks for Dezel, but Ragnell figured he'd have to own the consequences of his actions sooner or later.
Vile Fiends
- Lucia: The alleged Lord of Calamity. Ragnell has heard varying accounts about her, and having finally met her face-to-face, she must agree that she doesn't act like she'd expect the Lord of Calamity to. Yet the aura of Malevolence around her is unmistakable. What is the truth?
- Hiro and Ruby: A swordsman companion to Lucia, and his Red Dragon buddy. Actually, Ragnell knows Ruby better, since until recently, only Ruby could see her. She and Ruby have an understanding, but if Ragnell knew Ruby wanted her to think she's cool, she'd be pretty amused by that. Hiro doesn't stand out to her as much by comparison, but that may change in the future now that he's started to see her too.
- Lemina Ausa: A magic-using companion to Lucia. Ragnell likes her spirit and her attitude that burdens are things to be overcome to develop stronger hearts. She flirted with her once and at this point would almost certainly flirt with her again.
- Jean: An interesting figure within the Vile Fiends. Jean took Ragnell's flirting to the next level, which led to a nice time, but Ragnell would prefer it not go further than that. For right now, she's more interested in that technique she used on Lady Harken...
Metal Demons
- Zed: A feisty, courageous, hilarious, powerful, dumb-as-bricks Metal Demon. Ragnell enjoys his company and marvels at his innocence of certain things. Metal Demons are really something else, huh?
- Riesenlied:
- Noeline:
- Siegfried:
Crucible
- K.K.: ???
- Agatha Pyrelight: Ragnell doesn't particularly like her, but some things just are what they are.
- Virginia Maxwell:
Miscellaneous
- Gwen Whitlock: A courier with an electricity-based ARM. Ragnell played a prank on her that purely by accident switched on Gwen's ability to see Seraphim and Malevolence. Ragnell's used her as a contact multiple times now, and they get along decently well.
- Cecilia Adlehyde: Princess of Adlehyde, such as that is these days, and Shaman of Schturdark. Ragnell has no strong opinions of her as a person, having come to admit that giving up the Teardrop was the best she could do at the time. She does think she and her magic could be useful, though--and potentially dangerous.
- Maya Schrodinger: Someone worth watching. Ragnell thinks the disparity between her masks is interesting in and of itself, though she isn't so attached to either her or Verginina as to meddle or nose as much as she could.
- Neriah Parringer: What the fuck? What the fuck? What the fuck. Whatever that thing inside her is, Ragnell is going to keep an eye on her. She seems desperate for friendship, so who knows? Maybe she'll give her an inch of rope and see if Neriah'll hang herself with it.
- Ida Everstead-Rey: Quite a tough young upper-class lady. She's gained an ability to hear Seraphim too, which Ragnell's pleased to see. She also helped her with an expedition into the Berry Cave to find a certain SEED machine, and helped with printing out a tome... Ragnell's looking forward to seeing Ida's analysis of it.
- Ethius Hesiod: A strange, paranoid little man. He's clearly got something going on, though exactly what, Ragnell can't guess. When she has a chance, she intends to nose into his business to try to find out more--assuming, of course, she can get away with it.
- Cyre H. Lorentz: A tiger beastman Baskar shaman. Seems like an interesting enough guy, and a good source of information on the Guardians and Filgaia in general. Ragnell feels she ought to look into him some more.
